I am a sweet girl, but I must have been used mostly for breeding because I am cautious of new people. I will literally run away from you if you move too quickly and when you do pick me up, I will shake even though I eventually will lean into your touch. It was said that I was about 5 years old when I came into rescue. My teeth were so bad that it was rrally hard to tell. Unfortunately my foster recently noticed that I was coughing and took me back in for a other exam. The vet found a slight heart murmur this time and I am currently on medication for this. I am doing great and my cough has disappeared. I will be on this for the rest of my life. Otherwise I am a very happy and energetic girl. I get along well with all dogs and cats. I would do best with no children as it take me a while just to warm up to adults. I would like an older quieter family with a fenced in yard so I cam go outside to potty and run and play. I need someone who is going to be patient and allow me to trust them so they can spoil me like I deserve to be. If sunshine could fit into a tiny puppy body, it would be Elmo. This adorable Mini Poodle mix puppy is just 8 weeks old and already proving that obstacles are no match for her happy spirit. Elmo came to us from a commercial breeder after they noticed she was missing both of her back paws. She has full legs, but no paw pads on her rear feet. Whether this was caused by an injury early in life or a congenital deformity, we simply don't know. What we do know is that Elmo couldn't care less. Despite her missing feet, Elmo gets around remarkably well and is completely unfazed by her difference. She walks, plays, explores, and tackles the world with the confidence of a puppy who has never been told she is supposed to be limited. Her joyful attitude is truly inspiring. And beyond being resilient, Elmo is everything you could want in a puppy. She is social, affectionate, and absolutely loves everyone she meets. Dogs? Friends. Kids? Friends. New people? Future best friends. She greets life with a wagging tail and a happy heart. Because Elmo is extremely tiny and delicate, we are looking for a home experienced with very small dogs that can help keep her safe as she grows. Due to her size, homes with children under 10 years old will not be considered. At 18 pounds, she's the perfect medium-sized companion who is just beginning to discover what life can be like beyond her past. Penny came to us from a commercial breeder in severely overgrown condition and in need of some TLC. Thankfully, she's already on the road to recovery and feeling much better after a spa day and a fancy makeover.
