Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at Immanual Union Church (693 Jewett Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314) from 11am-3pm. Meet Holly! Holly is an adorable 8-month-old Cavapoo, weighing about 20 pounds, who is ready to find her forever home. Rescued from a puppy mill, Holly is learning how wonderful life can be in her warm and loving foster home. She's adjusting well with the help of her big pit bull foster brother, who's already smitten with her! Holly is slowly coming out of her shell and is eager to return his affection. Though she's still getting used to being outdoors, her canine buddy is helping her gain confidence. Loud noises can startle her, but with time, patience, and plenty of love, Holly is sure to blossom. She feels safest when she's close to her people, especially outside, and is making steady progress with her leash training. Holly has some favorite things that make her day extra special-Greek yogurt and cozying up on her blanket are at the top of the list! Whether you're looking for a couch companion or a playful friend to romp around with, Holly is ready to be your girl. Could you be the loving family she's been waiting for? She is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $800. Holly is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at Immanual Union Church (693 Jewett Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314) from 11am-3pm. Looking for the next addition to your family? Meet Tinsel, a 5-year-old Cavapoo that is ready to steal your heart. This 15-pound bundle of love and joy is ready to find his forever home. Tinsel is a fun-loving, happy and friendly guy with so much love to give. He is enthusiastic, super friendly, affectionate and fearless. He loves other dogs and enjoys running around the yard and playing with them. He is very trusting and loves to follow his people from room to room. Even though he's only been in foster care for a few days, Tinsel is already showing what a clever boy he can be. He's making progress with his house training, learned how to walk up and down the stairs, and is crate trained though he will cry for the first few minutes then settle down. Recently, he discovered how much he loves dog treats! Tinsel wants nothing more than to be by your side. His favorite past times include sitting on your lap, kissing your fingers and sleeping on the couch. Tinsel would flourish in a home with an energetic canine sibling who can show him the ropes, or with experienced kids who can match his playful spirit and help him grow into the amazing dog he's destined to be. Tinsel is ready to rock your world with his boundless love and infectious enthusiasm. With a little patience and a lot of love, he's sure to become the perfect family member. He is being fostered in Eatontown, NJ. His adoption fee is $600. Tinsel is a Patron Pup. Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at Immanual Union Church (693 Jewett Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314) from 11am-3pm. Meet Gingerbread! Gingerbread is a two year old, fifteen pound Cavapoo. Gingerbread got her start in a puppy mill, and as a result is very shy and timid, though she is very sweet! She is still working on coming out of her shell, and can be easily overwhelmed with new people and environments. She's looking for someone who can be patient with her as she learns to navigate this big and sometimes scary world. Whether a comfy spot in the corner of the couch or in her crate, Gingerbread likes having a safe space she can go to when she feels overwhelmed. Though only in her foster home for a few days, Gingerbread seems to be pretty low energy and doesn't make a peep! She sleeps through the night without issue and does well in her crate when left alone, which she often prefers! With some time and patience, she will make the perfect companion! Gingerbread is being fostered in Whippany, NJ. Her adoption fee is $600. Gingerbread is a Patron Pup. Champagne is a 4 year old 8 pound poodle mix who is ready for his new life to begin. Recently rescued from a puppy mill where he endured deplorable conditions, Champagne is now discovering what it means to be loved and cared for. He's thriving in his foster home but knows his forever family is out there-could it be yours? This gentle soul is amazing with dogs of all sizes and ages and is likely to do well with cats, too, though he hasn't met one yet. Every person he meets quickly becomes his new best friend, as he has a warm and friendly personality. Champagne is working hard on potty and crate training and is making great progress! With a little consistency and patience, he'll have it down in no time. In just a few days, he mastered the routine of his foster home and settled in beautifully with the pack. Champagne is ready to be a loving addition to any family-he just needs a home full of affection, patience, and, of course, treats! Could you be the one to give Champagne the life he's always deserved? Champagne is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. His adoption fee is $600. Champagne is a Patron Pup.
