Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at Immanual Union Church (693 Jewett Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314) from 11am-3pm.
Meet Holly! Holly is an adorable 8-month-old Cavapoo, weighing about 20 pounds, who is ready to find her forever home.
Rescued from a puppy mill, Holly is learning how wonderful life can be in her warm and loving foster home. She's adjusting well with the help of her big pit bull foster brother, who's already smitten with her! Holly is slowly coming out of her shell and is eager to return his affection.
Though she's still getting used to being outdoors, her canine buddy is helping her gain confidence. Loud noises can startle her, but with time, patience, and plenty of love, Holly is sure to blossom. She feels safest when she's close to her people, especially outside, and is making steady progress with her leash training.
Holly has some favorite things that make her day extra special-Greek yogurt and cozying up on her blanket are at the top of the list! Whether you're looking for a couch companion or a playful friend to romp around with, Holly is ready to be your girl. Could you be the loving family she's been waiting for?
She is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $800.
Holly is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
