Story
About Me: Name: Tabitha/Tabby Breed (or best guess): Poodle/Shih Tzu Approximate Age: 9 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 11 lb Adoption Fee: $395 (regular $495, she has a $100 sponsorship) Requirements: loving family willing to keep up with her eye medications Why In Rescue: stray/lost dog Profile:   Tabitha came to us from Milwaukee Animal Control so we don't have any history or background on her.  She has seen a veterinarian several times for dry eye which is a chronic, life long condition and she will require medication for life.  When she has her eye drops daily she does very well.  She has one more appointment schedule with her eye doctor, and then she shouldn't need so many visits other than once or twice a year to get her prescription updated. She is a very smart girl and learns routines quickly.  She is sweet and lovable and loves to cuddle.  She is super excited when her foster family members come back home.  She is a playful girl who gets the zoomies and enjoys playing with toys.  For an older girl she has quite a bit of energy. She gets along well with the dogs she has met, including the foster sibling.  She loves walks.  She is pretty much potty trained, only having an accident when left alone and when the weather is bad and she doesn't get a good walk before being left home alone. She is shy at first, but warms up quickly.  She bonds well with her people and always wants to be around her person.  She seems to be quiet when left home.   If you are looking for a small, loving furry friend, can give belly rubs on demand, and have the ability to afford her eye drops and veterinary visits, apply for Tabitha.  She will quickly become your new best friend! If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS January 15, 2026, 12:01 pm

Story
Anyone looking for a dog that’s more like a cat? A dog that wants your comfortable house and daily food service, but wants absolutely nothing to do with you? A dog that excels at judging you from the corner and declaring with her eyes “don’t even think about approaching me”? A dog you forget is even there with you? Well let me introduce Blair! She is calm. She is quiet. She is crate and house trained. And She is absolutely terrified of humans. We don’t know Blair’s full story, but we do know whatever happened to her made her gut wrenchingly afraid of people. She must be kept on a tie out in a fenced in yard when outside or you can not get her back inside. She has to be cornered to be caught in the house and then carried outside to the tie out to get her outside. At her foster home she spends her days sitting in as far an opposite corner as she can get from her foster. She keeps a constant eye on her foster and bolts to another corner if she approaches at all. Blair will need a very special adopter. Someone who wants a project and who has the patience of a saint. Someone who is willing to spend months and even years just sitting with Blair and slowly slowly slowly helping her to learn all humans aren’t whatever it is she experienced for her first years of life. Helping her learn humans can be gentle, and kind, and patient, and become your best friend. But it truly may take years. She has been in her foster home for several months with only minuscule improvement. Things like she will now lay in a dog bed instead of next to it. She has started to occasionally come into the house on her own as long as the door is left open and her foster hides so Blair can’t see her. But even that is only sometimes, depending on Blair’s mood or the direction of the wind or who knows what!. Oddly Blair does seem to be less afraid of men and children. Blair also loves dogs and is good with cats and rabbits. She doesn’t appear to have any prey drive. And the best part about Blair is she has never shown even a hint of aggression, even in the midst of her fear. She is a gentle soul who now needs a hero. You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about me on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/JrsPupsNStuffInc Ask to meet me today!! Adoption fee: $650 All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. Story
Meet Baby! 🌟Sweet Baby’s adoption fee has been sponsored in loving memory of Beanie and Bogey 🌟 Breed: Miniature Poodle Mix Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Age: Golden Oldie Weight: 12 lbs Foster home: Lake Geneva, WI Activity level: Moderate Friendly with: dogs and adults, because of his poor vision he would not be a good fit for a home with small children. He also prefers low energy dogs who give him his space. Sleep style: Cozy on the couch Meals: Mix of wet and dry food throughout the day, he’s more of a grazer/nibbler Bark-o-meter: 4/10, barks when someone is at the door Shedding meter: 1/10 Fashion: Bow ties, he’s a formal gent Signature color/pattern: Aqua blue, really highlights his apricot curls Walk out song: Walking on Sunshine Favorite season: Summer, he gets to spend more time outdoors romping in the grass Personality: Gentle, sweet, loves to be near his people ❤️s: Exploring his yard (we imagine he would throw on some readers and study maps!), being with his people at all times, taking treats gently Baby was found as a stray in Chicago and is on to bigger and better things. He loves to act as your personal security detail, patrolling the yard to keep you safe :) He does not like to be crated but does well roaming free when you are gone. He’s working on going potty outside and almost has it down, but would benefit from a belly band if being left for a longer period. He is not a fan of being left alone and would prefer a calmer home where someone is home with him often. Neutered ✅ Microchipped ✅ Loves to be near his people and meet new friends ✅ Trusted to roam free when left alone ✅ UTD on vaccinations ✅ UTD on preventatives ✅ Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Louie! Nickname: King Louis XVIII Breed: Miniature Poodle Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Age: Golden oldie Weight: 10 lbs of pure scruffy joy Hometown: Columbus, WI Current digs: Mount Horeb, WI Personality Snapshot: I'm that old dude who is reliving his youth. If I were a human, I would be the guy at the retirement home sneaking out with all the widows at night and toilet papering houses. The one who smuggles a can of Bud Light back in when he knows he isn't supposed to be drinking in the home. The one who wears loud Hawaiian shirts and goes joyriding at night. I love all people, men, women, boys, girls, tall, short. My foster mom worries that because I am just smol, small humans might not see me and I might get stepped or fallen on, so if you have little people, please think carefully about whether you can keep me safe. If your little people are respectful of my teeny-ishness, that would be great. I love all the dogs, especially the ones who want to play with me, but if I am your one and only and YOU want to play with me, that is fine too. Big dogs, little dogs, let's play! There is a video on this listing of me playing with another doggo. Check out my tippy tappy feet! I do currently live with a kitty and we are simpatico. Kind Louis's Stats: Sleep style: currently in a crate, but I feel like you should let me sleep with you in your bed. Maybe? Please? During the day, I sleep in doggy beds with blankies. Meals: I do love food! My foster momma mixes some dry kibble and canned food twice a day. I love chimkin and CHEEEEESE. I wasn't always fed regularly or enough in my previous life, so I am very food motivated. It might be good to feed me separately so I don't help myself to another pupper's food. Snore-o-meter: 1/10 I am a polite sleeper Bark-o-meter: 1/10 I will let you know in the morning when I have to go potty outside, and if everyone else barks, I will join in the chorus. Otherwise, I am a super polite old man. Shedding: 1/10 Be prepared to keep me brushed and to have professional grooming regularly. My lovely curls can get matted if you don't! Fashion sense: definitely a loud Hawaiian shirt and white polyester pants. Signature color: Red tartan. When I'm not sneaking out at night, I do love a plaid tam and sweater Walk-out song: Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves! Favorite season: Autumn. Not too hot, not too cold, just right for a sweater! Dream job: TV Judge. The older I get, the more experience I have in silently judging you! Alternatively, a restaurant critic. I'll eat your foi gras, your bechamel, or your trash. It all sounds wonderful! Special Notes: I do mark indoors and am wearing a belly band right now. However, I am scheduled for a neuter 1.28, because balls are for the football field, not rescue dogs, and there is a good chance that this issue will improve. I will likely also stop marking once I am feeling familiar and safe in a home. I have only been in foster for a short time. I am also getting my teefs shined up that same day. My foster mama says that I am a wonderful little boy who does let age or my less than perfect vision cramp my style. I love to ride in the car and watch out the window (I can see, just not super well). I love to explore and to cuddle in the recliner with you The Details: Neutered very soon Microchipped Housebroke (marks but that should improve with comfort level and neuter) Enjoys playing with dogs from smol to mondo (Chihuahua to large Lab) Happy tappies (see my video) Rides like a champ in the car Crate trained for sleep Up to date on vaccinations & preventatives Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $350, ($600 for a pair).
