Story
Kodiak! This handsome hunk is Kodiak. He was adopted from us as a puppy about a year and a half ago and while he was well loved some major family changes (through no fault of Kodiak's) made his family decide that they were not giving him the time and attention he needs. As sad and confused as Kodiak is at losing the only family he knows he is trying really hard to put on a brave face and is now looking towards to future. He is an energetic goofball and would love an active, adventurous family. Like hiking? So does Kodiak! How about games of fetch? Kodiak is your guy! Kodiak is housebroken and crate trained, although we would expect any dog might have a few accidents while they transition ot a new home and routine. Although Kodiak is very dog friendly he is also a (large) bundle of energy and may intimidate some dogs with his....exuberance. He did happily live with another dog since puppyhood. Although he lived with a very young child he is a 60 lb freight train at times and as such will accidentally knock over little ones and would do best with older kids or an adult home. Interested in Kodiak? Please go to www.dogtownrescue.org to complete an online adoption application

Story
Charming Carly is a very unique puppy and we call her the resilient pup with a heart of gold! Rescued from a shelter where she once struggled with malnutrition and soft joints, Carly has transformed into a picture of good health and happiness where affection radiates from her as she thrives on love and companionship. Carly not only has charm and sweetness, but her intelligence shines through as she eagerly learns basic commands, making her a joy to train and a wonderful addition to any family.   Carly does well in a crate and is working on house training and leash training.  Carly loves her toys, chasing balls, exploring in the woods, playing in the creek.  But don't let her playful side fool you – Carly equally adores cozy snuggles and tender moments of affection.  Carly is a social butterfly who gets along famously with other dogs and she does well with cats in her foster home, although she wants to give chase a little when outside. With her strikingly pretty dilute brindle coat, Carly is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Having watched her sister find her forever home, Carly now eagerly awaits her turn to be embraced by a loving family who will cherish her for the incredible companion she is. Could you be the one to make Carly's dreams come true?  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you would like to have an application for adoption sent your way! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 16, 2024, 2:07 pm

Story
**Meet Porthos - One of the Musketeers!**  Porthos is a dashing Mountain Cur/Lab mix born on March 29, part of a litter of TWELVE! With a 45-pound Mountain Cur mom and an assumed Black Lab dad, we estimate Porthos will weigh around 50-60 pounds as an adult. Porthos is a bundle of joy with a great personality, full of affection once he gets to know you. He loves his toys and thrives on a good game of tug. We can picture him happily catching a frisbee or chasing a ball in the park. Porthos hasn't had the chance to be around children, but his friendly nature suggests he would adore them. He's likely to be a great companion for a family with children, a couple, or a single person looking for a loyal friend. Porthos gets along well with other dogs and is eager to make new friends, although he hasn't been tested with cats. All he needs is for you to decide he's the right boy for you! **About Critter Cavalry Animal Rescue (CCR)**   Critter Cavalry Rescue (CCR) focuses on rescuing homeless dogs and some special cats from high-kill shelters in Tennessee. CCR doesn't have a physical location and relies on generous volunteers to foster and care for the animals until they can be adopted. To help decrease euthanasia rates, CCR transports animals from overcrowded rural Tennessee shelters to communities seeking healthy shelter pets. CCR adheres to state legal requirements to safely transport pets to various drop-off points that end in north central Connecticut.  Learn more at [crittercavalry.com](https://crittercavalry.com) and email us at CCRTennessee@gmail.com to request an adoption application!

Story
On March 29th of this year 2024, our beautiful Lumina gave birth to 12 puppies and raised everyone of them to a place that they are now seeking adoptions.  Every0ne of these precious babies survived because of the great love and mothering skills of this Mountain Cur mix girl.  We call her Lumina because she illuminates the world with her kind spirit and sweetness.  When you look into her eyes you see a connection of love and hope. Lumina was a stray and discovered by a woman in Tennessee right at the time that she was almost ready to give birth.  Lumina has a calm spirit and someone will be so lucky to have her as their very own.  She has some anxiety about being left alone but with time she will come to understand that she will not be abandoned by new family.   She is housebroken pretty much and easy going and goes with the flow within a family’s lifestyle rhythm.   She is loving, adaptable, gorgeous and kind.   Gets along with all other creatures and loves the 4 year old toddler in the family.  A busy little boy who she loves to see.   If you interested in this girl please let us know and we will be so happy to send you an application if you email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Please also tell us where you live:  city and state.  We are in Nashville, TN but we also transport northward from Tennessee to New England and stop in 5 states on our route northward.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 16, 2024, 2:07 pm

Story
Meet Dottie Dottie is 52 lbs of pure love! We think she is a Pointer mix, and at little more than 7 months (her DOB was 10-25-23) she is already a large dog. Despite her young age, she is crate-trained, housebroken, and knows some basic commands (sit, off, leave it, let's go, off, go to bed). Dottie was one of a litter of six puppies born to a stray in MIssissippi. She's currently being fostered in Collingswood, NJ, which is where meet & greets will take place prior to adoption. Dottie is very affectionate, absolutely loves to be petted, and still thinks she is a lap-sized puppy! She's very smart, curious, and playful. When she's not rough-housing with other dogs at her foster home, she is learning manners and impulse control. Like most puppies, she still benefits from a nap during the day, needs frequent potty breaks, is getting used to loose-leash walking, and is learning to love car rides, too.  Her perfect family will have time to spend playing with, and to continue socializing and training Dottie. A fur-sib or two, and/or human children would be nice but not essential. As long as she gets plenty of daily exercise and attention, she will be a very happy dog. Due to her size, a securely fenced yard is required. Continued use of a crate is highly recommended! Exercise and activity needs: Moderate Shedding amount: Moderate Grooming needs: Low; occasional bath and nail trim Reaction to new people: Friendly, curious Good with dogs Good with cats Good with people; MUST supervise with young children   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com for more info or an application. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them "doggy manners," so homes with at least one other dog usually will be given preference in puppy adoptions. Please read Suzanne Clothier's wonderful article, "It Takes a Pack to Raise a Puppy!" PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Levi is a super sweet small-framed hound boy. He’s about 10-12 months old and 40 lb but can sing with the best of them. Levi’s ideal home has another dog pal as he doesn’t have a ton of confidence on his own yet. He’s very silly and playful and mixes and mingles with other dogs very well. His foster says he’s the very best boy.   Levi is a dream in the crate. At night, he tucks himself in when he’s ready for bed. True to his breed, he has selective hearing when he picks up a scent and is working on recall in his foster home. He would love a fenced yard in his forever home for running around and sunbathing.   This goofy boy is sure to bring a smile to your face! Email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com to meet Levi and find out if he’s the dog for you.   (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
