Story
Reba McIntyre….one of the smartest ladies in country music is who our girl is named after.  Our Black Mouth Cur mix girl (look up this unique breed and know that she is everything and more) is as smart as she is beautiful!  Our foster mom Angela who found her and her three brothers on the side of a country, rural road, says that Reba and her sibs are survivors.  But as usual you can expect that little Miss Reba is special with a sweet and gentle personality that also brings a calmness to all those around her.   Although they were found roaming on a back road, this girl is far from being a wanderer.  Actually she and her brothers quickly settled into knowing their foster home and all the rules and soon were the best little guests! They never leave your side! Reba and her brothers have been with small children, cats, other dogs, cows, and birds (the Guineas and chickens sleep on top of their dog house)  and aside from an intial curiosity they are overall passive about other animals and young toddlers and kids!  We think these pups are 4 months old and Reba might be a 60 pound girl (tops) when fully grown.  A good substantial but not huge girl that will be ready to observe, learn and obey your every command given with respect.  This girl could be a small farm girl that exists with the livestock that most dogs have no experience with.  Think about it.  She is the diamond in the rough and the true gem to be considered to adopt.  She is the IT girl puppy!   Please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in the soul and not just the looks   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 5, 2024, 3:15 pm

Story
Kodiak! This handsome hunk is Kodiak. He was adopted from us as a puppy about a year and a half ago and while he was well loved some major family changes (through no fault of Kodiak's) made his family decide that they were not giving him the time and attention he needs. As sad and confused as Kodiak is at losing the only family he knows he is trying really hard to put on a brave face and is now looking towards to future. He is an energetic goofball and would love an active, adventurous family. Like hiking? So does Kodiak! How about games of fetch? Kodiak is your guy! Kodiak is housebroken and crate trained, although we would expect any dog might have a few accidents while they transition ot a new home and routine. Although Kodiak is very dog friendly he is also a (large) bundle of energy and may intimidate some dogs with his....exuberance. He did happily live with another dog since puppyhood. Although he lived with a very young child he is a 60 lb freight train at times and as such will accidentally knock over little ones and would do best with older kids or an adult home. Interested in Kodiak? Please go to www.dogtownrescue.org to complete an online adoption application

Story
We are desperately seeking a foster home for our Luna girl. She's a 6 year old 50ish lb beautiful brindle girl.  A few months ago, Luna came back to us when her adopter’s housing situation changed. Without an open foster home, Luna went into boarding. She has been doing really well there, but we’d love to see her back in a home.   Luna hasn’t lived with other dogs before and we’re told she can be dog selective, so we’re looking for a foster home where she can be the only dog for now. She’s happy to pass by others on walks, we just don’t know yet if she wants to share space with them. Luna is not a fan of the crate so someone who is home more often than not who can give her time to acclimate to a new environment is ideal. Her biggest joy is hanging on the couch by your side. Luna  has a moderate energy level and walks pretty well with a harness. She is housebroken, but there may be an adjustment period as she transitions back into a home from a kennel. She’s very loving and attentive to her person. Although she hasn't lived with them, she is fine with kids.  If you can foster Luna, even if only temporarily, please email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com     Luna is a 6 year old beautiful brindle girl. She is friendly and fine with kids.   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com is the right one for you! Story
This is Marley. He is 5 years old. He's black, white, and brindle. Furthermore, he's a Mountain cur lab mix. Marley is a friendly, loving dog who's very adventurous and loves being outdoors and enjoys his daily walks. Marley can be stubborn but with the firm training he is a great dog. He can be very excitable towards other dogs, however he’s not too sure about other cats. He definitely needs a lot of space or a full fenced yard big enough for him to run around and play.

Story
Asha’s owners loved her, but had a farm and she had a taste for the owner's chickens and made the choice to surrender her. Asha is high energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and to be with people. She has tested well with dogs, but due to her prey drive towards chickens, we are hesitant to suggest a home with small animals/cats. Asha is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org . If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!

Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 5, 2024, 3:15 pm

Story
My name is Breanna and I am a pretty little girl puppy that is almost 5.5 months old and born around May 1st.  I won’t bore you with the sad story because most of the southern pups have one, but I was lucky that me and my 7 siblings got out of our situation alive.  I didn’t have the best start to my life and I wasn’t handled by loving people when my litter was born.  In fact the people moved off and left all of my litter in an outdoor pen with no food or water.  Luckily some neighbors there in the country learned of this and brought us some food and water a few days each week.   I have to eat all by myself because I am fearful another dog might take my food if there is one around.  But my foster mom says that I am the most loving and dearest, sweetest girl on the planet.    I love to snuggle with her and I love to have her tell me how pretty that I am and loved, too. Naturally when I first meet new people, I am timid for just a short time and then I warm up when I feel that they will be nice to me.   I adore playing and being with other dogs and I could be at a dog park every day and I would be in heaven.  I could also live with other dogs or cats in a home and that would be fun too!  My foster mom says that I am like a Teddy Bear at night as I sleep right next to her in the best snuggle position ever.  I am crate trained and I truly like my crate and sometimes when I want some alone time I will go there on my own.  I would love to have a family with another dog that could be my best friend and show me the ropes of confidence.   I also would like to go to some fun training classes too.  I am smart and would love to learn more about being the best dog I can be.  I am using a harness right now and that is my best way to walk on a leash.  I will whine when I need to go outside but it is still hard for me to go 8 hours straight without going outside.  When I grow up I will be a 45 -50 pound girl.  I will be a loving and very devoted girl that you always be proud that you rescued and adopted.  Let’s be forever friends!   Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com right now!    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 5, 2024, 3:15 pm

Story
Sometimes in the rescue world our stories about a dog we are presenting for a home just kind of leaves us a little speechless for adequate words. This boy that we call “Good Friend Charlie” is one of those deep and touching stories that we know only God had a hand in making come true as he was rescued. His foster mom Rachel calls him “a dream dog!”  But when she stumbled upon him hanging out on her countryside property where she raises chickens and geese and many other dogs that belong to her…she was not so sure of his friendly intentions.  We believe Charles was dumped in her area where he roamed for approximately 3 months, many attempting to catch him but failing as he was smart and elusive.  He roamed onto foster mom, Rachel’s property and within 2 days came out of survival mode (he would bark and bark at her while she was outside tending to her geese and chickens) and when she offered him a blanket one night as he laid in her flowerbed all curled up in 10 degree weather, he soon came back into domesticated mode the next morning.  Because of being abandoned, Good Friend Charlie has some separation anxiety and will need you to be patient while you earn his trust that he won’t be abandoned again and that you will come back for him when you leave.  This boy loves all other animals; dogs, cats, geese, chickens and he loves people of all ages.  He is only 3 years of age and weighs 50 pounds.  We think the grey on his face might be from early stress in his life.  Maybe from uncertainty that he has felt in whatever former life he lived. Good Friend Charlie is well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, off and wait. He even waits for permission to exit the door and waits for you to tell him he can eat his food.  He does well on a leash but he prefers to roam on his own and rarely will go more than 4 feet from you. This special dog would be wonderful for someone that does live on some acreage and just wants an indoor and outdoor companion and who is working from home or just retired and kicking back in their life.  He loves to ride in the car shotgun style in the passenger seat and he is a homebody’s best friend.  Charlie knows exactly what he wants and will alert you with a few barks to let you know he wants to go outside, or his water bowl is empty, or even when he is ready for bedtime and he is house trained.  He does have some jealousy if you are giving attention to other animals but he is easily corrected and gets better daily as he learns more about coexisting in this new home environment.  He takes to correction like a champ!  If you really want to adopt a dog that is the definition of “Man’s Best Friend” then Good Friend Charlie is your dog for a lifetime.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to ask about an adoption application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 5, 2024, 3:15 pm
