Story
Xena, the 6-month-old purebred Mountain Cur, is a great choice for anyone searching for an intelligent and athletic furry friend. She enjoys playing and running around, and is gentle and affectionate towards other dogs. Although she may take some time to warm up to new people, once she does, you will receive an abundance of love and kisses. Xena had a bit of a rough start in life, as she was discovered alone under a building in SC when she was only 10 weeks old. However, she has made tremendous progress since then, and is now spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, housebroken, and heartworm negative. This furry beauty is currently on monthly preventative, ensuring her good health and happiness. If you are considering adopting Xena, it is strongly recommended that you have a fenced backyard, as she loves to run and play. Additionally, Xena would appreciate living with another dog, as she adores all of her foster siblings. Overall, Xena is an intelligent, athletic, and sweet pup that would be an excellent addition to any caring household. To find out more about this gorgeous pup and see if she is the right fit for you, get in touch with her foster family today.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. River was rescued from a kill shelter as a tiny puppy, last summer. Our rescue was asked to help find him a home, and we had him vetted and listed for adoption. During the couple of months that we had him listed, a family member of the person who was fostering him met him and wanted to adopt him. The foster wanted her family member to have him and assured us he would have a good home, which she believed to be true. He was allowed to go with the family member before we were made aware that it was happening. By the time we were told about it, he was already with the new family and it was pretty much out of our hands. We were glad he had a home, but that's just not how we do things. We have an application and contract for a reason. No adoption fee was ever paid either, which we weren't all that worried about, but we did pay for all of his vetting so...Anyway, fast forward 6 months or so and I noticed on another platform the person who had been fostering River had him posted, trying to find him a home. Turns out, the family member wasn't a good home after all. River had been living on a chain. The family member moved off and left River there, on the chain. I made contact with the foster, and she was very apologetic. She was embarrassed to tell me and was trying to find him a home without having to tell me what happened. I get that, on some level. It's hard to admit when someone you thought highly of does something like abandon a dog on a chain. So, River is now back in rescue. Thankfully, he is still heartworm negative. He needs a home, but this time it really needs to be a good one. He's had a hard way to go, first being a tiny baby in a loud, dangerous, filthy shelter, then being chained to a tree and then abandoned to starve, by the people he loved, who were supposed to love him. I think that's enough hardship for any one young dog to have to endure. Despite all of this, River is a very good boy. He is around a year old now, and weighs about 40 lbs. He is a very friendly, happy go lucky boy who is eager to please and love anyone who is kind to him. We believe he is a Mountain Cur mix. He has a cute little nub tail and a beautiful brindle pattern to his coat. River is house trained, loves kids, he's great with other dogs and is also great with cats! You can't ask for more than that! Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   this is a courtesy post. Milo is not with DPR, but he is in urgent need of a new home!Milo is looking for his forever home! He is a fully trained 40 lb mixed breed brindle dog. He is trained through the Sit Means Sit program and is house broken. He has strengths with responding to commands, staying on his place board, coming instantly when his name is called, snuggling, and showing love. He wants to do well, meet your expectations, be with his favorite humans, and protect. Milo is extremely loyal. Milo needs an adult only family who will continue his training and that will provide a safe, structured, and calm environment for him. Infrequently, Milo can have reactive and impulsive actions. He barks at unfamiliar people arriving in the house, walking past the house, and animals in the yard. He can nip and/or show his teeth when he feels uncomfortable, or when he thinks he needs to protect. He will show that he feels remorse after one of these short moments. Sit Means Sit will provide at home training services, consultation services, and he can continue to attend group classes. Milo will travel to his new home with his crate, travel crate, leash, e-collar, place board, beds, and anything he else needs. Milo has the potential to be the world’s greatest dog with supports in place and the right environment for him.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 26, 2024, 6:15 pm
