This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! Meet Fable: Fable is a one year old (as of October 2024) plott hound mix (best guess) that weighs 36 pounds. This rootin tootin cowboy litter of 3 (Farley, Farris and Fable) are sure to steal some hearts! These cuties were found abandoned in a rural area and luckily made it to our rescue. Fable is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Fable is a sweet, playful handsome boy that is looking for his very own family! To put it simply, Fable is a big love bug! He just wants to be with his person and that’s what makes him happiest! Fable loves playing with toys and exploring around the dog yard. In the play yard he avoids rough play with the other foster dogs and likes to hang with the easy going ones. Fable has a gentle spirit and lots of love to give! Fable is working on his house training. We would love for Fable to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely!
