Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young girl ready to play! CAMRYN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!       Name:  Camryn         Best Guess for Breed:  Plott hound and boxer mix   Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of December 2025        SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight: 50 lbs as of 12/14/25 - she might be done growing or have just a bit more to grow!   Gets Along With:  Camryn has lived with dogs and cats in foster care! We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations: Camryn is shy and needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes.   Camryn is Looking For:   Romps in parks and world exploration by her new humans' side! This pretty girl is eager to burn off all that young-dog energy and make pup and people pals along the way. To get there, she needs extra patient and loving adopters who understand she hasn't seen enough of the world yet and needs a little more support to become comfortable in new environments. A friendly resident dog will show her how to dog too! Most of all, she wants to know where her home is, to know she's safe and loved for all her days. In exchange, she promises happy tail wags and loyal companionship and adoring gazes. What do you say? Does that sound like a fair trade to you? What My Foster Says About Me:   Camryn is a gentle, loving girl who’s blossoming more each day. She’s a sweet and sensitive pup who’s quickly learning that home life can be full of fun and comfort. She loves soft toys, playing tug, and curling up on the couch for snuggles. Camryn has also been great with other animals—she’s friendly with the resident cat and has started to enjoy playtime with her foster’s puppy. Inside, she’s doing wonderfully—no accidents and even sleeping quietly through the night in her crate. She’s food-motivated, which makes her a quick learner, and she’s already starting to explore the house with curiosity and confidence. Camryn is still gaining confidence in the great outdoors, but with time, patience, and continued positive experiences, she’ll thrive. She’s a wonderful mix of sweetness and bravery and will make a loving companion for someone ready to show her the world at her own pace. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
A Bonded Pair Looking for a Home Together! Piper and Cooper have spent their whole lives side by side, loved dearly by their elderly owner. Sadly, their person had to move into assisted living where dogs aren’t allowed, and now these two best friends are searching for a new forever home — together. We would love to keep them as a pair so they don’t lose each other after already losing their owner. They truly are a team and bring comfort and joy to one another. The ideal home for Piper and Cooper would be one with a large fenced yard to explore, and people who enjoy daily walks and adventures with their pups. If you’re looking to add not just one, but two amazing companions to your family, Piper and Cooper would be so grateful for the chance to stay together. Message us today if you’d like to meet this sweet bonded duo! PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email Katherine at kberger@petconnectrescue.org. **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.

Story
*** COURTESY POST ONLY *** Watch her IG video to see what a smart girl Ginnie is!https://www.instagram.com/p/DOo2XkZEU-j/.From Toby's Rescue: This sweet girl, Ginnie, has been living her best life for the last couple of months with her amazing foster parents, Laura and JT. But when they set off for their honeymoon last month, we thought… what better time for Ginny to enjoy a little princess polishing at Premier training? Ginny is playful, happy, and full of love and like any energetic young lady, she wanted some manners training to match her royal charm. Thanks to the incredible team at Premier Training, Ginnie is now an expert at her royal manners and has perfected her sit, stay, place, leave it and walking daintily on a leash. Her trainer said she is such a good girl and wants more than anything to please her people. Ginnie came to us when we said yes to taking Ginnie when she had two options: leave the shelter with a rescue or with her last breath. We scooped her up and got her settled with Laura and JT and she has been bringing smiles and laughter to them ever since. Now she has finished her finishing school, she is ready for her forever home. She’s 11 months old, 42 lbs of pure charm, crate trained, toy-obsessed, and always ready for zoomies followed by snuggles. Pup Rio is an absolutely stunning brindle gentleman and a Plott Hound mix with both looks and personality. He found himself in a very overcrowded shelter in Alabama—no place for a pup like him—but his story took a happy turn when he was rescued by K-9 Lifesavers and made the long journey up north in search of his forever home. Could that be with you? Rio truly checks all the boxes: handsome, friendly, sweet, affectionate, and playful. He loves people, enjoys having fun, and is always ready to share his joyful spirit. Best of all, he’s young and in his prime for training and socialization, making this the perfect time to help him grow into an amazing lifelong companion. Rio would thrive in an active home that’s ready for adventures, playtime, and plenty of love. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving pup to add to your family, Rio might just be your perfect match. Apply today and come meet Rio—your new best friend may be waiting! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. To learn more about Meg, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Meg will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Meet Meg, a black-and-tan coonhound mix with timeless hound charm, soulful eyes, and a heart of gold. Her personality truly depends on her environment, revealing two very different—and equally lovable—sides. Out in unfamiliar places, Meg is calm, docile, and a bit nervous. She takes things in quietly, approaching new situations with caution and soft curiosity. She greets people with gentle tail wags and kind eyes, even if she’s unsure at first, and gains confidence the more time she spends with her person. On leash, she’s generally easygoing and comfortable passing other dogs. But once Meg feels safe at home, the transformation begins. In her comfort zone, this mild-mannered hound turns into a high-energy, rambunctious puppy: rough, rowdy, and a little bit wild in the most endearing way. She plays hard; loves to romp and wrestle; and brings big, joyful energy to her indoor playtime before eventually crashing for long, well-earned naps. True to her hound roots, Meg adores running, sniffing, and exploring. She loves other dogs and would do best with a confident, highly energetic canine companion who enjoys rough-and-tumble play and can match her stamina. Meg is sweet-natured, people-friendly, and not aggressive—just bursting with enthusiasm. Meg is still learning that containment equals safety. She needs continued support getting comfortable with barriers like baby gates and crates. She has made some progress with nighttime crate training, and her forever home should be prepared to keep building her confidence with patience, consistency, and reassurance. Meg would thrive in a quiet suburban or rural home with a secure fenced yard and low-traffic walking areas. With the right environment and understanding of her “two sides,” she will blossom into a loving, loyal, and endlessly entertaining companion. If you’re a hound lover with space, time, and an active lifestyle—and you appreciate a dog who’s equal parts gentle soul and playful whirlwind—Meg is ready to sniff out her forever home with you.
