Story
Introducing, Missy! Missy is 8 years old and 65 lbs. This sweet girl was surrendered to a rural animal shelter because her owners had too many dogs. We don't know what Missy's life was like before, but she definitely had many litters of puppies. Missy is currently living her best life in a wonderful foster home. She can be shy at first, but given a few days, her lovely personality will start to show. She has done well with other dogs (slow introductions are always suggested) and loves to run and play. Missy is housebroken, great in the car, and loves going on a long walk. Don't let Missy's age deter you...this girl acts like she's a young pup and has many good years left! Interested in learning more about Missy? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt *Missy spayed, up to date on vaccines, was given monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

Meet Annie: the Social Butterfly in a Brindle Coat 🐾✨ At 5.5 years old and 55 pounds of pure huggable perfection, Annie is basically the hostess of every party she’s ever been to (and yes, she considers your living room a party). She’s a Plott Hound mix with a coat so stunning it deserves its own Instagram filter. Annie is a pro-level cuddler and firmly believes personal space is a myth invented by people who don’t know what they’re missing. She’s been thriving in her foster home, which is basically Grand Central Station, kids, guests, deliveries, you name it, and she’s loved every second of it. She’s polite on walks, excellent with people of all sizes, and will happily supervise your daily activities to ensure you’re doing them “right.” Whether your home is buzzing with life or you just want a gorgeous, snuggly sidekick, Annie’s ready to clock in. Adopt her and watch your “me time” become “we time”... forever. ❤️ Questions About this Animal? Please email hart90office@gmail.com View My Profile: https://new.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/HRT-A-239

Story
To learn more about Darcy, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Scout is a 3‑year‑old Plott Hound mix who is playful, sweet, and endearingly goofy. He LOVES toys (especially carrying every single one outside to toss in the air), is great with all dogs, and will happily play for hours if you’re up for it. He’d be a great match for an active home with a fenced yard or a human who enjoys walks, runs, and outdoor time — and when it’s time to relax, Scout settles in beautifully. He is housebroken, walks nicely on leash (most of the time!), and has a wonderfully balanced energy level: he is always ready to go but is totally content to settle nearby while I work. He’s incredibly dog‑friendly and has gained confidence by watching and playing with my confident 5-year-old pup, but I believe could also do well as an only dog. He’s also respectful with toys and shows no strong prey drive on walks. With people, Scout is a gentle soul who warms up slowly to new people, but once he trusts you, his affectionate, playful personality really comes out, and he will become your best friend. Watching his confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding — he’s already come so far in the time he has been with me. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, this sweet, goofy boy could be your perfect match.

Story
Meet PLUTO! Pluto is a gorgeous, 1.5 year old, 48 pound male brindle Plott Hound mix -- his happy, sweet, "boppable" face and shiny fur are hard to resist. If you are looking for a very sweet, lovable dog that is up for any adventure, Pluto is your pup! He has young dog playfulness and is excited to meet people (of all ages) and other dogs, but also settles down to hang out or nuzzle up to you for head rubs or belly rubs. And, even better, this all around great dog ignores the kitties!. Pluto and his "sister" were dumped and ended up at a rural North Carolina shelter; we were able to bring his "sister" into rescue earlier and she is already adopted! After two months at the overcapacity shelter, Pluto was in danger and the shelter rescue coordinator asked if we could bring this extremely sweet dog into PetConnect to save him. A great foster offered and this sweetie just had his freedom ride!!! He is so happy that PetConnect has come to his rescue and brought him to the DC area to find a forever family that will give him the attention that he deserves and never abandon him to the woods!. Pluto would love to curl up with you to hang out on a summer night! He would be an excellent new member of the family! ***Please note that the first step is to fill out a questionnaire. In addition, an important step in the process is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and routinely examined by your vet.*** The adoption fee for this dog is $425. **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our adoption questionnaire.** Dogs receive routine veterinary care and spay or neuter surgery prior to adoption. Story
2 years old, 66 lbs Personality: loyal, mischievous, eager-to-please, goofy/funny, playful, energetic, adventurous, rambunctious, and affectionate. Say hello to Peanut! This energetic boy is a ray of sunshine and super cuddly, preferring to be by your side as much as possible. He loves going outside and exploring, and tucking into a food puzzle after a good walk. At home, Peanut is happy to settle on the couch when you watch TV or read. Peanut is a smart, food-motivated pal who just wants to make his people smile. He is house trained, and still getting used to a crate, but he’s happy to cozy up in there at night if it’s in the same room as his beloved human. A real charmer, Peanut loves meeting new people, and he’s working on managing his excitable energy when greeting other dogs on walks. He would do well with an active adopter who can help him get his wiggles out and learn confidence about being left home alone. He’s making fantastic progress on his mischievous side, happily accepting cuddles, playtime, or toys as a distraction from chewing on something. This curious, adventurous, and goofy guy is ready to snuggle into his loving forever home with you. Apply today to meet Peanut! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Story
Radley has had an unsettled start to his life. He was abandoned a dog daycare in Northeast DC, where I work. After trying out a new home, he came back to me as he had some pretty severe separation anxiety. He has now been living with me, my husband, our German Shepherd, and our twin boys for twelve months. He is without a doubt, the sweetest, most loving soul I’ve met. He loves other dogs, he loves people, and he is truly wonderful with children. He has no known health issues and is very energetic. He would thrive in a home with another dog, active parents, and somewhere that he won’t be left alone. He needs to be with parents that understand dogs, how they behave, and are willing to work hard with training.

Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Some dogs come to us with very special needs and BamBam is one of those dogs.  While he is a playful pup full of energy and affection, he is also extremely fearful of the world.  This fear can manifest into making him protective and reactive.  As his anxiety traits present a challenge, a quiet, experienced and patient home is required to address his needs.  He should also be in a home without children or other pets.  Among his many positive qualities, he is quiet, house trained, crate trained, and he will sit nicely and lift his paw for a treat.  He is extremely shy when meeting new people but once BamBam feels comfortable, he will be your loyal companion forever!    **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org.
