Story
Meet Nakoa, a sweet and goofy Husky with a whole lot of fluff, puppy energy, and not a mean bone in his body. Nakoa was found on the streets, a rough start he definitely didn’t deserve, but he’s settling into foster life and showing everyone just how lovable he is. Nakoa is a social boy who gets along with the dogs he meets. He’s submissive and has shown no resource guarding over food or toys. He’s still figuring out how to navigate the world around him, and with his enthusiasm for life comes plenty of excitement! Nakoa is working on his excitability and leash manners, so he’ll benefit from continued training, consistency, and someone willing to help him channel all that puppy energy into good habits. He’s also a total goofball with a lot to say. Nakoa is a classic talkative Husky, always ready to “discuss” his opinions with an ah-woo or two whenever the mood strikes. Between the talking, the fluff, and his playful, silly personality, he’s hard not to fall for. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, dog-friendly Husky who will keep you laughing and bring plenty of energy to your days, Nakoa might just be your guy! He’s still learning his manners, but with patience, guidance, and lots of love, he’s ready to keep growing into the best version of himself. ❤️

Story
Hi my name is Brutus. I am a lovable energetic 1 year old male. My mother is a jack-chi and my father is a chihuahua/poodle. I’m one heck of a baller and twig enthusiast. All puns aside, Brutus is still intact and is not completely house trained but he enjoys crate time which is a plus in my opinion. He knows the commands sit and down and leave it and with the right training a lovable walk companion. He is up to date with vaccinations. Let me know if you have interest in meeting him.

Story
My neighbor died recently and her family is back east. Two of us are feeding and walking Shiloh with her family's permission. He lived with her and another dog. When the 3 were discovered during a wellness check, my neighbor and her other elderly dog were very close to death. She died that night at the hospital and animal control took the other dog, who was likely euthanized out of mercy. The house is not habitable. However, Shiloh was well fed and cared for - very fancy fresh food. He's justifiably stressed. His whole life has been upended with people coming and going to clean out the house. We can't take him into our homes b/c he isn't good with other dogs or men. But likes his crate. Will hop in a car. Will walk on leash. TIMID. Good with women, not men. This all happened in last 5 days so the situation's very new. Needs an experienced dog owner - herding mix. We'd love to find him a great home or foster with an experienced owner willing to go slow/train.

Story
This sweet mother (Maggie) / daughter (Lucy) came to us as a bonded pair. The story goes they spent their life unhoused with their human, with an on-the-go lifestyle. When she could no longer care for them, a kind-hearted woman took them in. When it didn’t work with her, due to no fault of their own, she found them a place at to Lily’s. While we don’t know much about their past, we imagine they are used to their world changing around them, but the loss of their person has been a big one. Maggie is the worrier for the two, uncertain of what’s ahead. Maggie responds well to calm and consistent reassurance that she and her baby are safe. But it doesn’t take long for her to accept affection. She’s a sweet girl who wants to let her guard down and be the full-time cuddle bug she is at heart. Lucy follows her mom’s lead and is on the quieter/more timid side. But don’t let her fool you, while she won’t ask for pets, she will gladly lean in when they’re offered. Her loving heart is just below her shy exterior. While the pair is still getting settled into sanctuary life, they are beginning to open up more each day, and have even let us see their silly side, wrestling and running in the Lily’s dog park. They have gotten along well with all critters so far, thy even reportedly lived temporarily with another dog and cat and did well with both. We have no doubt these two will only continue to bloom and we can’t wait to see it. *Lucy is on the right in the photos.
