Story
Dog belonged to my deceased mother. She rescued animals habitually and left me with 4 dogs and 18 cats that I can no longer care for. Dexter is about 12 years old and still very energetic. His vet prescibes him Prozac for his anxiety. He's half poodle and quite handsome and affectionate. Though he is elderly, he loves chasing his tennis ball around the dog park. I would love for him to be able to live out the rest of his life in the kind of loving home he deserves. Would probably fare better if he were the only pet, but he does get along well with our other elderly dog and most cats.

Story
NAME: Blythe Sex: male Color/Pattern: black and white tuxedo Breed: Terrier mix Weight: ~15-20 lbs Age at intake: ~4-5 months BDAY approx: ~ Sept 11, 2024 Intake date : Jan 11, 2025 Found date: Jan 9 Coat length: very short Description BLYTHE is a sleek and shiny, black and white boo boo with Dumbo ears. He is responsive, yet quiet, only reacting when spoken to. Personality This little guy we named Blythe, was very quiet and submissive the first few days in his foster home. He gets wiggly and excited when you pay him affection. Blythe is a sweetie, submissive and obedient. He likes to hang out in his crate with the door open where he feels safe to watch from there. He became very playful once he felt more confident in his new digs after a few days. He loves going outside and doesn't mind the weather no matter what it is. He picks up on commands quickly and learns from other dogs' examples. He was already doing well with potty training and socializing within 1 week of picking him up off the street. This puppy is an easy boy who loves being loved, and is low maintenance, but high reward in reciprocating affection. Background Blythe was probably only about 4 months old when found abandoned at a long term stay hotel along 290 in Houston the 2nd week of January 2025. Management had called animal control but no one came to get him. It was cold and he was skin and bones. He was living under a staircase for 5 days where residents had given him a hotel towel to sleep on. When he heard the volunteer call to him he started wiggling excitedly and licking her hands. He was timid and resistant about being put on a leash, but then he was quiet and very good on the ride home in the truck, even when a 2nd dog was also picked up. Happy to announce that he had already filled back out 1 week later after eating well, and playing with all other foster dogs. Story
Looking for a Loving, Pet-Free, Child-Free Home for Chewie We’re heartbroken, but we need to rehome our dog, Chewie. He’s not safe around young children and is dog-aggressive, especially with small dogs, so he needs to be the only pet. Chewie is a 12-year-old mixed breed, about 100 lbs. He's up to date on his shots and received a 3-month dose of Bravecto flea preventative on 4/10/25. He’s house-trained, knows basic commands, and once he bonds with you, he’s a sweet, loyal companion. Now that he’s older, he’s a bit of a couch potato and loves lounging around with his people. Chewie will do best in a calm, structured home with an experienced, confident owner. No kids, no other pets, and a secure yard would be ideal. He needs someone willing to give him the safe, peaceful home he deserves. If you think you could be the right fit, please reach out — we’d love to chat and make sure it’s a good match.

Story
We found her in the Dickinson area while shopping at a store. People there put some water for her but said she was probably abandoned there. No one wanted to take responsibility for her. She has some small scars on the top of her head, had ant bites and was pretty skinny. She's doing better now. We plan to take her for vaccination, but whoever adopts her will have to spay her. She's an absolute sweetheart, very playful as any puppy, and loves to be around you and being in your company. She does jump constantly top try to get your attention so don't apply if you have small kids. We are potty training her, but she's a 2-3 month puppy it will still take some time for her to fully learn. She loves other dogs, and is okay with cats, she'll give cats space, my cats don't like dogs that much but she seems to not bother them. She's great with people, though a bit shy at first. We think she looks like a greyhound mix, but we don't know for sure

Story
I’m urgently looking for a safe, loving home for two beautiful senior dogs, Emmy and Lulu, who deserve peace, kindness, and comfort in their golden years. Both are 10 years old, around 55–60 pounds, and have been together their whole lives. They are spayed, microchipped, and healthy—still full of love and heart despite a tough situation. • Emmy is a brown and white shepherd mix with soft, soulful eyes and a loyal, protective heart. She does have some food aggression, so she’ll do best with someone who understands how to give her space and structure around meals. She’s never bitten—just needs a little patience. • Lulu is a sweet brindle mix with a gentle personality and a playful spirit. She loves attention and being close to people. Lulu is easygoing and adapts quickly to new routines. They’re house-trained, used to being around kids, and love quiet companionship, cozy naps, and light walks. Ideally, they’d stay together, but I’m open to separating them if it it’s the right fit.
