Story
Lily Ann used to be part of a pack of street dogs before I took her in. I’ve known her for 4 years and she became attached to me the moment we met. She was scared of my dog at first but after time passed they became best friends. I had to move and she came with me and befriended the dogs I live with now, as well as my cat. She is about 5 years old and loves to do anything. She loves going on walks, but will also sleep the whole day if she can’t go out. She’s scared of rain and thunder, so she stays in those days. She doesn’t like puppies, but she can tolerate energetic dogs. She is very loyal and protective, but she does get very attached. She always finds a way to escape the backyard to go back and find me, so she stays inside with me. She enjoys car rides and pup cups. I’m looking for someone who has enough time to be with her so she won’t be lonely. She prefers people over other animals. She has a big personality and I’d like for her to find someone who will share their life with her

Story
Leia is 3 years old. She is a very active girl. Sadly more active than 2 seniors can give her. We adopted her through the Pasadena Pet Center as a young dog. We were told she was a Jack Russell Terrier, but that was untrue. We tested her DNA and it showed her to be very mixed breed. I think she would be best matched with another dog. A companion to another dog to run and play ball with suit her best.

Story
Originally lost dog, shelter chipped him, foster mom took him, my daughter took him from foster home. Good with kids, other dogs & a cat. Does well on a leash. Rocky became territorial with my daughter & didn’t want her long time dog to get close to her. He had no problem with other dog until the other dog got close to her. It broke her heart to take him back to foster. My husband doesn’t want a dog or I would take him. He really is a good dog & deserves a forever home.

Story
Rae Rae is about 5 months old , very playful, he likes carrying sticks, toys are and playing keep away. I found him abandoned by my neighbor after they moved I would go over and feed him thinking they just couldn’t get back in time but they never returned. I travel a lot and feel he deserves an owner that could give him more care.

Story
Toby is a 7-month-old, 26-pound chiweenie pup with adorable ears. Toby's story began with heartbreak. At just 4 months old, Toby was abandoned at a high-kill shelter alongside his mom. While his mom was quickly adopted, Toby was left behind, scared and alone in a noisy shelter environment. Thankfully, a loving foster stepped in and gave him the chance he deserved. Today, Toby happily goes outside in the yard, loves playing with his foster siblings, and enjoys stretching out in the sunshine for a relaxing afternoon sunbath. He even comes to his foster mom for petting and loves to be a lapdog. He has blossomed into a loyal little companion who will quietly follow you everywhere. He is playful, incredibly sweet, and completely non-confrontational. He does not resource guard and has wonderful manners around other animals. Toby currently lives with six dogs and one cat and gets along beautifully with all of them. He absolutely thrives in the company of other pets and looks to them for reassurance and confidence. Because of this, a happy, confident, playful dog in the home is required. Toby trusts dogs more than humans, and having a canine role model helps him continue building confidence and learning that the world is a safe place. He is also a very smart puppy and a quick learner who continues to make progress every day. While he is fine around children, we feel Toby would do best in a quieter home without young kids. He spends a lot of energy observing his surroundings and making sure everything is okay, so a calm environment will help him relax and continue gaining confidence. After everything he has been through, it's understandable that Toby is cautious. But for the family willing to give him patience, kindness, and time, Toby will reward you with unwavering loyalty and a bond that is truly special. Toby is fully vaccinated, neutered and heartworm negative. He is kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Toby's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and harness. Transport fees out of Houston can range from $150 - $350 depending on destination. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
