Ellie is a sweetheart. She is so friendly with everyone. Ellie wags her tail when she is happy. She loves to roll on her back, so you can rub on her belly. Everyone adores her wherever she goes. Ellie is a social dog. She can’t wait to play and interact with other dogs. She loves going up to people and say, “Hi” to them by shaking her body and tail. We want to make sure that Ellie is going to be in a great home.

Story
This is Blue. He a larger pit bull/husky mix. He has a lot of energy and like to spend his energy outside. He’s been a real hassle to try to train. We’re only able to get him to do “Sit” and that’s about 50% of the times. He’s a bit older than one year old, with his birthday being in August. He can start to nip at people when he has a lot of energy and we haven’t been able to train him otherwise.

Story
We picked Paulie up from the SPCA in May 2023. Great dog with good character, knows basic commands like sit, down, paw, and stay. The situation is that he gets too excited around people and other pets. Also with our schedule there is not enough time to take him on enough walks. Unfortunately, after 2 and half years we will not be able to take care of him anymore. Please call if you would like more information or are interested in housing him.

Cooper is a male GSD, approx. three years old. He was found running the streets of Stockton in June and picked up as a stray. By July 11, this sweet soul was suffering from kennel stress and was scheduled to be euthanized. Danielle and Peter read his plight and immediately decided to foster Cooper, who was on borrowed time. He was to be euthanized by 5:00 on July 12. Once outside of the shelter and in his foster home Cooper started to relax. And boy did he. He napped and napped like he missed a year of sleep. He slowly met the resident dogs in the house, observed the backyard chickens and peeked at the resident cat, sometimes barking to let him know he saw him. Cooper's silly side started to come out too. He gets the zoomies and seeks out affection from his foster mom and dad with head nudges, paws on an arm or leg, and a lean against them. Cooper is currently living with three older GSDs (two females and a male) and would do best in a home with an older, confident female dog to pal around with. Cooper is potty trained and sleeps in a crate overnight. He is working on leash walking, sit, and how to settle in his crate during the day for short intervals. He will need someone who is experienced, patient, and will keep a consistent schedule with him. This gentle boy is looking to connect with his forever person. FOSTERED IN ACAMPO

A kind Samaritan saw a homeless guy dump “Maizie” and walk away. When she caught him, he told her, "I don't want it anymore." She didn't know what to do except take her home. The next day, she took Maizie to the shelter to file a Found Dog report and asked about vaccinations. They refused to do both unless she relinquished her to the shelter. She didn't feel comfortable leaving a young puppy at the shelter, so she brought her home. She called Golden State and asked for help. Maizie is currently being fostered with an adult male Rhodesian Ridgeback, and a flock of chickens and roosters. She is learning house manners, crate training, and is housebroken. Maizie is a great traveler and loves being around people. We will continue to update Maizie’s bio as we get to know her better. FOSTERED IN COOL. Adopters who have experience, the time, and resources raising and training [GSD] puppies and who have been pre-approved through our puppy adoption process will be considered. NOTE: All puppies will be required to be spayed or neutered at six months of age, per FOOD AND AGRICULTURAL CODE – FAC DIVISION 14. REGULATION AND LICENSING OF DOGS. CHAPTER 1. General Provisions [30501 - 30505] ( Division 14 enacted by Stats. 1967, Ch. 15.)
