Story
I'm a professional dog trainer who is currently fostering Asha, a dog I've been working with for a few months. Her previous owners had to give her up, they were elderly and had mobility issues so were unable to keep up with her energetic personality. Asha is about 5-6 years old but still has a very youthful personality. She loves to be outside and explore and always has a smile on her face when she's on a walk! She's been coexisting peacefully with my dogs but I've never seen her around cats. She is a bit slow to warm up to new people but she is very expressive and affectionate once she befriends you. She has a bit of sensitivity to being pet or handled too quickly/roughly in certain situations so a family with young children might not be the best match. I've been working with her everyday to desensitize her to that sort of thing and also warm up to strangers quicker and I'd be happy to continue working with her new owners post-adoption absolutely free of charge!

Hi, I`m Sasha, a typical red Siberian husky: smart, opinionated, willful.I tolerate some handling but I don`t love it. I will give warning with a look or vocalization.I love my toys and food and have shown some resource guarding. There shouldn`t be any children in the house and definitely no other pets as I have a high pery drive. If you are ready for an strong headed, independent dog I am here for you.

Story
Nala is a delightfully smart girl ready to steal your heart. This sweet girl may be a bit shy initially, but her affectionate nature shines through once she warms up to you. Nala is highly treat-motivated, making training sessions a breeze and creating a strong bond with her human companions. With an abundance of "young puppy energy," she loves playtime and can be a tad jumpy in her enthusiasm. She would LOVE to go to a home with another dog who she could learn from. Known as a bit of an escape artist, Nala yearns to explore the world outside the shelter. All she truly desires are love, attention, endless play time, and the chance to share joyous moments with her new family. Adopt Nala, and you'll find a loyal and playful companion eager to embark on adventures with you. Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 52.4 Age: 0yrs 8mths 1wks

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereIntroducing Juneau, a classic husky beauty! Although she came to the shelter undersocialized, Juneau has made great progress in foster. She is sometimes cautious with strangers, but will shower those she trusts with all the love. In a quiet home, Juneau will continue to thrive. She is potty trained (yard only), has great house manners, and can be left home alone. Walking outside on leash is a relatively new hobby, and she's currently working on not getting over excited when she sees other dogs. She has strong prey drive, which would make co-habitating with cats unlikely. Juneau would enjoy being your one and only companion, but could also do well with another tolerant dog -- she has been playful with puppies in foster, and snuggles with calm adult dogs. She has also spent time with respectful kids, who report she is softer than a fleece blanket! Juneau is 3 years old and 52 lbs. Gus has a friendly temperament. He does best with an active lifestyle with lots of daily exercise and mental stimulation, and he is happy to communicate with you in his doggie voice when you have not met his needs. This cuddly boy enjoys belly rubs and is content to curl up on the couch with you after a full day of adventures! Gus has done well with other gentle, tolerant doggies in playgroups at the shelter. He engages in some play with other dogs and is sometimes content to just explore the yard on his own. He may do best in a home with another dog who enjoys occasional play sessions. Learn more hereMeet Luther, the lovable senior gentleman who exudes warmth and charm at every turn! At 7 years young, Luther is the epitome of sweetness, making him the wonderful companion for anyone seeking a loyal and affectionate friend. This mellow boy is crate trained and well-behaved in the home, enjoying quiet moments by your side. While Luther can be vocal around other dogs, his behavior has improved over time, especially with regular attendance at shelter playgroups. He would thrive in a foster home with another social dog that enjoys gentle games of chase.Luther's easygoing nature extends to all aspects of his personality. He's friendly, housebroken, and adores sleeping at his human's feet after a bit of playtime. Squeaky toys bring him joy, and he knows basic commands like sit and focus. Plus, he's not one to jump or counter surf, making him a low-maintenance addition to any home. Although Luther is recovering from a recent health issue, his spirits remain high, and he's ready to find his forever home. While he may be reactive to small animals, his love for walks shines through as he strolls calmly on the leash. With some patience and training, Luther's leash manners will only continue to improve. Story
Eva was initially a stray and since adoption has shown significant separation anxiety. She is incredibly sweet and loving but the separation anxiety has been a challenge for our family. She will pace for hours and has on occasion scratched at the door or window while we have left her home. We’ve also tried to leave her in the backyard for short periods of times (i.e. school drop off) and she has jumped our nearly 6 foot fence. She has always been good with other dogs. She loves belly rubs, going to the dog park and playing tug. She also loves walking and is a good running buddy, but she’s also very strong and is difficult to handle because she pulls a lot. For the right family she would be an amazing dog, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be our family despite many efforts. Perhaps a family with more experience with a dog would be a good start - she is our first and we are out of our depth and really want her to thrive.

Story
Kazhem is a very handsome, somewhat shy Akita mix who warms up slowly to new people. But once he is comfortable he will share his goofy personality with you, running zoomies in the grass and showing off his great smile and happy tail wag.He gets along great with other dogs on the beach, the trails and probably in the dog park, but would prefer to be the only doggo in his forever home. Once Kazhem bonds with you he`s very devoted and wants to be with you all the time. Retirees, professionals who work at home, and anyone else who could make him a part of their daily life would be his dream family!
