******Please note, once you complete the initial screening, you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks, and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Dipsy, 1.5 years old, neutered male, black mouth cur and plot hound mix, 64lbs. Dipsy is in a foster home in Houston, Texas and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Dipsy is a tall, dark, handsome introvert with perfect natural eyeliner, soft soulful eyes, and fur so smooth you’ll want to pet him (please do—he loves a good brushing). He’s a mysterious-but-goofy boy who proudly digs through toy boxes like an archaeologist on a mission to select the perfect one and rolls in the grass like he’s checking into a luxury spa. Dipsy takes time to bond, but once he trusts you, he’ll wake you with gentle paw taps and his deep “Barry White” morning voice. He loves to play—sometimes a little too enthusiastically—so he appreciates help remembering to take cooldown breaks. He gets along great with dogs of all sizes, plays politely with cats when he’s bored, and does best with kids 10+ since he’s still working on toning down his excited “love pinches.” Dipsy is housebroken, crate trained, respectful around food and toys, fantastic in the car, but might steal a snack off the counter. He also loves sliding himself under your desk like a big furry foot warmer, “talks” when you come home like he’s giving you a full recap of his day, and once in a while stares dramatically into the distance as if he’s in an indie film. His ideal home has adults or older kids, ideally another dog friend, and people who enjoy walks, playtime, and letting an introvert unfold at his own pace. If you’re patient, loving, active, and appreciate a beautiful, quirky, soft-hearted boy Dipsy might be your perfect match. If you are interested in adding Dipsy into your family, please fill out the adoption application below! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Julia’s striking brindle coat may turn heads, but it’s her big heart and joyful personality that truly win people over. She is an affectionate, goofy girl with a very puppy-like spirit who loves being part of the action. Julia enjoys cozy cuddle time in front of the TV (even if she sometimes forgets just how big she is), but she’s always ready to spring back up for her favorite game—fetch! Energetic and playful, Julia would thrive in an active home that enjoys outdoor fun. She loves running, jumping, friendly wrestling, and chewing on toys, especially ones she can really get her teeth into. She’s also a fan of car rides and happily hops in for adventures. Julia is incredibly sweet with people of all ages and has been wonderful with kids. She’s very intelligent and food-motivated, already knowing “sit” and often offering it automatically in hopes of earning a treat. With continued training, she has great potential to learn even more. On leash, Julia can be a bit excitable, but her treat motivation makes her a good candidate for training. She’s also learning that going outside in colder weather is worth it—having a human companion helps her feel more confident and successful with potty breaks. Julia has done well with male dogs and enjoys canine companionship, but she would do best as the only female dog in the home, as she has shown reactivity toward other adult female dogs. With the right environment and structure, Julia will be a loyal, loving, and fun companion for a lucky family ready to match her energy and enthusiasm for life. Julia was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.  Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2629570##

Story
Hi, I'm Corina! I'm a 2 year old Plott Hound and am ready to find my forever family. I am very sweet and absolutely love people. I do well with other pups, am great on leash, crate trained, house trained, and above all else a love bug! If you're looking for a running, hiking, or adventure partner, I'm your girl! My fosters adore me and say I will be the perfect addition to most any family. I would be a perfect pup to an active family with plenty of love to give. I am around 55 lbs and am looking for someone to give all my love to. Could that be you?

These pups are in Lakewood, Colorado too!

Story
Fostered Location: Carbondale, CO Addie is a sweet, tall hound girl who's shy and cautious at first but full of enough curiosity to want to get past it. She's had a rough start ending up in a dog pound in MO, but she's beginning to come out of her shell- she loves running and playing when she feels brave, ESPECIALLY with other hounds!! Addie would do best in a calm, patient home, ideally with another dog to help her gain confidence. She'll need a family who can give her support and reassurance so she can feel safe enough to relax, have fun, and start learning what it's like to be a puppy. If you're ready to help a shy but sweet dog feel loved, Addie is ready to meet you!
