Meet Valeera. This sweeet momma, her 3 pups and baby daddy, were all seized by animal control and taken out of a neglectful situation. Despite her past, she is happy and very friendly. Her Mommy days are over and she has been spayed and given a dental cleaning. Valeera gets along with other dogs and she is learning to walk well on a leash. We do not know what she thinks about cats. Valeera is about 2 years old and 50 pounds. Please help Valeera find the loving home she deserves. Update: Valeera tested positive for Lyme & Anaplasmosis, two common tick borne disease and is currently on a short course of oral antibiotic. She is currently available for adoption and any remaining pills will be sent home with her new family for completion. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. Story

Bruce is a fabulous example of a forgiving and loving dog that was abandoned and found himself on the streets of a small town in Tennessee. He had nowhere to go and some kind people took him in to hold him safely while Critter Cavalry Rescue takes time to find him the best home ever. He is a Plott hound/Pit mix from what we can see in his markings and his stature. He is 2 years old and 65 pounds and he is one special dog that is so handsome and is truly a gentle giant! This boy has everything going for him with great house manners and housebroken as well. He crate trained and is living in a foster home in an apartment. He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home. He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato. Bruce is learning to walk on leash and will need daily practice to stop pulling. He loves to ride in a car, likes carrots and ice cubes. When at home he loves to look out the window and will do that for hours. Recently he spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff and he demonstrated an ability to be very sweet and easy with some of the children of the staff members. The only NO about Bruce is that he is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings. He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of his same size. He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention, too! Older children over 7 years of age might be best, but only because of his size. If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy! He is so beautiful and regal. He looks around like he is surveying his kingdom and hoping that all is well. You could really make his life a happy ending if you could consider adopting Bruce. This boy was part of a neglect/ hoarding case. He is very friendly… with everything! He likes people, kids, either dogs…..not sure on cats but we’re sure he would do well. He has a wonderful personality, he does not need to be in charge. He does well with other dogs and is good on a leash. He loved everyone at an adoption event, he does not meet a stranger!! He is a super good boy who is ready to finally find a home of his own. He will need housetraining but we think he does have some training already. He listens well, just needs some work on manners. He does jump when excited so beware smaller kids. He would do well with a yard or plenty of exercise. An active family would be best as he does not like to sit still when around people, he’s just too excited and happy. He is ready to find his own energetic family.

This is a courtesy post and we are helping this sweet boy find his forever home. Dutch is one of the funniest doggies we have had. He just turned 2 years old. He has obedience training on his resume and is a good natured and fun loving dog. He likes kids and loves playing with other dogs. Because he is so playful we think kids 9 years old and older will be best. He is also best with slow intros to dogs because he is an excitable dog. He does live with 5 other dogs in his foster home and knows how to listen to commands and boundaries when his human guides him. He LOVES toys. He sleeps with a stuffy. Dutchy sits and waits to get the ok to eat his meals. When he takes treats from you he is ever so gentle, it’s very endearing. He loves his cuddles kisses and belly rubs especially at bedtime before going nite nite. He has puppy energy and would be best suited with a doggy parent/family who is active and has space for him to run a lot. We believe he would be best in a house with a fenced in backyard. A park or hiking trails nearby would be a plus. You will fall in love and have years of fun ahead with this lovable, intelligent boy. If he is the one for you please reach out to us. We would love for you to meet him. Dutch was saved at 7 months old from the Devore animal shelter where he was always kenneled with other dogs because he is friendly and playful. He has good recall so once he trusts you he will always come back to you and be by your side. Dutch is in Los Angeles, California and his foster family will drive him anywhere in the U.S. to an approved adopter if he is your match.
