Story
Hello! My name is Neville, Neville Longbottom! I coined the phrase ‘puppy eyes’ and am not afraid to use them when I don’t want you to leave. My birthday is approximately July, and I will be 4 years-old this year. My background is unknown, likely a pointer mix. Although small and calm for a Dalmatian, I am more than thrilled for my daily outside time once my mom gets off work. I am eager to please and be shown affection. I am often led by my nose and get to know everyone and everything by sniffing about. I am crate trained, but my family only kept me in the crate during the day for 2-3 weeks. Then, mom decided she wanted to test leaving me out while she was at work. I was only 6 months old, but I passed the test, and she’s left me out ever since. I have never had an accident in the house nor have I ever chewed on anything that wasn’t my own toy. We are all so proud of me! I love company whenever I can get it but do not need to be engaged all of the time. I have been around kids and adults of all ages often since I was a pup and enjoy any opportunity to meet and greet someone new! If I don’t seem interested in you at first, it’s because I am more interested in smells first. Once I have the opportunity to sniff around a bit, I will make my way back to you and seek out pets and scratches. One of my favorite times is playdates with other dogs! I easily adapt to dogs of all sizes! I am a food driven guy and can be stealthy if there is food left out and about or a garbage can left open, so if you leave something out, and I indulge, I am sorry! Sometimes I can’t help myself, but I am working on it. I love to run trails, walk, and play fetch outside when I am not laying around inside. I have been trained off leash, but led by my nose, have on occasion sprinted off to chase a scent. When called back, I listen, but possibly on my own time frame with a new owner, so it may be best to keep me on a leash or in a fenced in area for a while. I do pull at times on walks but don’t pull if I am wearing a prong collar or a harness. I am incredibly smart and caught on quickly to commands such as come, sit, and shake, yet staying is a bit more challenging for me for long periods of time. I am the best listener and love cuddles. I love to be groomed (brushed), am fine with my nails being shaved down, and even my teeth being brushed, but I am not a bath guy. Baths scare me, and I will likely slump to my crate in an attempt to avoid them. Inside, my mom picks me up and plops me in the tub. Once in the bath, I’m ok. I do frolic in creeks but will not go into water that I cannot stand up in. To sum this up, I am an extremely loyal dog that just loves to love and be loved! I can’t wait to meet you! If you would like to meet this dog please call Lorri at 630-659-8814. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Lucky is an English pointer mix born March 2019. He didn't get proper training which has caused some behavioral issues. He does not react well to strangers, he hasn't been around other dogs much. We did have a incident years back where he did leave a small mark on a child , the dog got out of the room. Lucky suffers from allergies on his back paws. He typically needs steroid shots and apoquel. No issues inside the home with destroying anything (except a new toy, those don't make it through the day. Lucky is a good boy, he has a soft coat, he's so loving, funny, smart and cuddly. He's amazing with my children. It is my hope that he would be placed where he can recipient correct training and allergy management. He is just the sweetest boy and I hate to see him go. I have to rehome him, I'm in the middle of a messy divorce and I'm unable to afford his care any longer. He deserves all the love and attention.

Story
Sammy is a sweet, 8 year old Pointer Mix, possibly a bit of a Lab Mix, estimated to be 45 lbs. Prior to joining BAARK, Sammy was bounced around until he reached his foster home. It takes a bit of time for Sammy to warm up to people he does not know, but once he gets to know you, he is your best friend! He enjoys being petted, and snuggling next to his person. He loves to chew bones and play with (tear apart!!) soft toys. He is not too fond of sharing his toys, however, and prefers to hide them when not playing. Sammy is afraid of loud noises and can be startled by quick movements, as well. He gets long with most dogs, but would definitely do best with a female dog friend. He’d enjoy being an only dog too. A family with older children or an all-adult home would be great, but smaller children might scare Sammy. He is housebroken, and can be left free-roaming when home alone. Sammy is fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, has had recent bloodwork, is heartworm negative and is on year-round heartworm prevention. He is also neutered and microchipped. If you would like to add Sammy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Billie is an adorable young mix, thought to be a Pointer/Aussie/Lab mix. She’s about 44 lbs, a bit on the lean side currently. And estimated at 4 years old. Billie joined us from a very horrible neglectful situation. She along with eight other dogs was rescued from a trailer, after the owner of the trailer was taken to a mental health facility. All dogs were starved; two were starved to death. Billie was one of the survivors, but barely so. She was skin and bones when joining our rescue program….and a look of hopelessness filled her eyes. During the last several weeks that Billie has been in her BAARK foster home, she has made notable progress, gaining weight, looking better, feeling more confident, and showing us some pep in her step! She’s even starting to play with other dogs. An ideal home and family for Billie is one who can understand her past and give her the time and space she needs to continue to build her confidence, and blossom into a loving, playful girl that she deserves to be. Good nutrition is very important given her past. Billie obviously is good with other dogs but the preferred home for Billie would be as an only dog, or with another calm friendly dog. She’d love a secure fenced yard where she could run, play, and exercise. She is scared of quick movements at this time, so smaller children would likely be overwhelming to her; older children should be fine. If you would like to consider Billie for a member of your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in the NW Suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to our area.
