Story
Dottie needs a very active leader for her best fit. She is a dominant personality and if she had an energetic owner, who is a pack leader, she’d be golden. She is a working breed and needs someone who can guide her. Very affectionate as well as active. She’s a great dog just needs to land in the right place. A fenced yard is definitely needed Age: 1 year. WT: 58 lbs. Temperament: Good with energetic male dogs, no small kids, she is a herder. Vetting: spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative. Training: crate trained, house trained, knows commands Sit-stay-down-heel . For questions, please email loramyers51@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.

Story
Meet Sammy! Sammy’s owners can no longer care for him because of their own health issues. Help us find Sammy a new home with an active family! He is a lovable 1-year-old pointer/mixed breed weighing around 75 lbs. With a heart full of energy and a playful spirit, Sammy is always up for adventure! He loves to run, play ball, and dig holes, making him the perfect companion for an active family or someone who enjoys outdoor activities. While he enjoys cuddles and loves to be close to his people, Sammy is still working on some basic training, like walking nicely on a leash and learning not to jump up. He’s also a bit of a furniture chewer, likely due to his high energy levels and need for more playtime than what his current home can provide him. Sammy would thrive in a home that can offer him the exercise and attention he craves, with a bit of training to help him become the well-behaved dog he’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion who will keep you on your toes, Sammy is the one for you! http://www.coldnosewarmheart.org/dog-application.html @cnwhnj @coldnosewarmheartnj

Story
Rocky has been a long stay in boarding while we got this little chowder head to focus. Apparently his live had started with best guess, young boys, because his exuberance was over the top. We have finally gotten him under control. Other dogs still correct him at times because he just can't get that meet & greet scenario down pat, again exuberance. He is a very loving dog and would love the opportunity to live with someone who loves the outdoors and hiking. Sorry no apartments for this boy.

Story
Greetings future family! My name is Prince — and while I may not come from a grand castle, I carry the heart of royalty and the spirit of a survivor. At one year old and 56 pounds, I’m full of life and love. My tale begins not in luxury, but in hardship. My mother, a stray of unmatched resilience, made her home outside a business, protecting me with the strength of a queen. Kind rescuers came for us but fate was cruel and they found my mother had been struck by a car before help could reach her. She passed and I was left behind, lost and wailing, my tiny world shattered. I didn’t know what to do without her. But I was found, wrapped in gentle arms, and given a second chance at life. Now, I stand tall — a young king ready to reign in the warmth of a forever home. I may be blind in one eye, but don’t let that fool you — it doesn’t stop me from exploring my kingdom with curiosity and joy. I am playful, loyal, and have a heart as big as a palace courtyard. I’ve spent time with other dogs (who I adore) and children too but I’d prefer a kingdom without cats or small children due to my size and strength. In preparation for my royal duties, I’ve completed professional training and now hold myself with all the grace and charm of a well-mannered noble. I walk splendidly on leash, keep my quarters clean as I am house-trained and crate-trained, and follow commands like “sit,” “down,” “heel,” and “stay” until I’m released — quite the proper gentleman, if I may say so. My adoption even includes five private lessons with my royal trainer (in person in Sylvania, GA or online), plus lifelong support via phone or message, because every ruler deserves wise counsel. I am neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and more than ready to claim my throne — not in a castle, but in a cozy home filled with love. My adoption fee is $415, a small tribute for a lifetime of loyalty, protection, and cuddles from your very own Prince. So, if you seek a noble companion with a soft heart, strong spirit, and a royal snuggle game, look no further. I await my coronation — not with gold or jewels, but with a collar, a family, and a home. Apply to adopt me, PRINCE LIZMAN, at EHRDOGS.ORG. April 25, 2025, 12:12 am

Meet Cooper - he is currently between 1 - 2 years old and 42 lbs.  He was found abandoned and skinny on the side of the road, with a scar on his neck from an embedded collar. While it appears Cooper hasn't had the best life, you would never know it from his appreciative nature and friendly disposition! He is good with other dogs, but comes on super strong! Cooper is learning to walk on a leash and to sit and wait (rather than jump) for attention. He is a quick learner.  Cooper loves all people but since he is so energetic, older or considerate kids would be a better fit for this sweet boy.  He is also house trained and crate trained.  Cooper is fully vaccinated, chipped, and neutered, and his adoption fee is $415. Story
Not for everyone. But maybe just right for you. 🐾 I’ve been waiting nearly three years for the right person—not just anyone. I don’t give my trust away easily, but when I choose you, I’m all in. Loyal. Loving. Yours. I’ll be your shadow, your adventure buddy, your “just us two” kind of dog. I’m quirky, smart, and full of personality. I love being outside, exploring new scents, and then crashing on the couch next to my favorite person. But I need space, calm, and someone who understands dogs like me—because I come with some history and strong opinions. My ideal home? Adult-only, no other pets, and no chaos. I need a confident, patient person who’s not afraid to take things slow. But if you earn my trust, you’ll get the kind of loyalty most people only dream about.
