Story
If interested in this sweet girl please contact Carrie at 731-267-5535 or email cabowman67@yahoo.com for an application to adopt Meet Sweet Zoey, She is approximately 40lb and 4 yrs old loving girl who is looking for her forever home. Zoey can be a little timid upon meeting new people but will warm up quickly especially if treats are involved. One of Zoey's favorite things to do is lay on her window seat while soaking up the sun rays or just watching for anything interesting. When she isn't busy keeping an eye out, she loves her cuddle time bonding with her person. She is crate trained, housebroken and knows to sit for treats. Zoey has also learned recently to sit and wait for her food bowl. This girl is extremely smart and is going to make someone the perfect companion

Story
COPPER'S STORY: Cooper is currently 2.5 years old and 60lbs.  He was found abandoned and skinny on the side of the road, with a scar on his neck from an embedded collar. While it appears Cooper hasn't had the best life, you would never know it from his appreciative nature and friendly disposition! Cooper loves to "hug" his people for affection, and is a very cuddly dog. He has a bunch of energy and would make a fantastic companion for an active owner. Cooper would be best as an only dog for now until he has time to decompress into a home.  Cooper loves people but since he is so energetic, older or considerate kids would be a better fit for this sweet boy.  He is also house trained, and very well crate trained- He doesn’t make a PEEP! Cooper is fully vaccinated, chipped, and neutered. Cooper's adoption fee is SPONSORED through our Diamonds in the Ruff program. Click here to learn more about our Diamond Dogs. Story
Meet Taylor — Your Future Best Friend ?? Taylor is a gentle, loving, and incredibly respectful pup with the sweetest soul. She has a special way of looking up at you with her beautiful brown eyes, quietly asking for pets—and when you start, be prepared, because she’ll softly nudge for more. Out of all the dogs her foster has cared for, Taylor gives the best hugs. If you let her, she’ll happily lean into you for a full five minutes, soaking up every bit of affection. She also loves resting her head on your lap when you’re sitting, and if you tap your thighs, she’ll come right in for a warm, heart-melting hug. Her foster mom says she is `delicious`. Taylor is attentive and responsive—she knows her name well and comes right over when called. Around the house, she’s calm and mindful, carefully moving about and showing excellent manners. Fully house trained. She only plays with her toys (never household items!) and loves carrying her fluffy favorites from room to room—it’s as adorable as it sounds. When it comes to meeting new people, Taylor is wonderfully social. Her “currency” is love—if you offer kindness and affection, she’ll return it tenfold. She thrives on connection and will quickly become a loyal, affectionate companion to anyone lucky enough to welcome her home. She just got back from spending time in foster and is back at our Madison shelter, ready to meet you!

Story
Meet our active, happy boy Loki!! Loki is a male pointer mix around 5 years old. He is incredibly toy driven and loves playing fetch or running around the yard on his own chasing a ball. Loki was rescued in 2022 when a family member was discovered to be deathly allergic to dogs. Loki is good with people and has an extremely high prey drive so he would do best in a home with no other animals or younger children.

Story
Meet Hailey! Hailey, affectionately nicknamed Lele, is a 4-years-11-months-old 35-lb Shepherd mix with a bright mind, a loyal heart, and a big personality. Her superpowers include her exceptional intuition and communication skills—she’s one of the most communicative dogs her foster has ever cared for. Lele is house-trained, leash-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and shake. She also excels with recall and will come to her foster every single time, even in distracting environments. She thrives on routine and structure, needing two active play or exercise sessions each day—and once her energy is out, she’s content to relax or nap until the next one. Lele adores children and would thrive in a home with kids who can shower her with attention and playtime. She’s gentle, patient, and intuitive around little ones, making her a truly ideal family dog. Lele has an incredibly warm and outgoing personality—she thrives on human connection and is always eager to make new friends. Her charm is undeniable: she’ll joyfully greet people by rubbing against their legs like a cat before flopping onto her back for belly rubs. Her quirky, affectionate greetings never fail to amuse, making her a wonderful match for adopters seeking a social, engaging, and delightfully spirited companion. Hailey is currently being fostered in Elizabeth, NJ and her adoption fee is $425. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Rubix - a lovable, playful two-year-old mixed breed weighing 59 lbs. Rescued from NYCACC, his past remains a mystery, but we believe he once had a special boy in his life whom he dearly misses. He’s particularly drawn to his teenage foster brother, showcasing the affectionate bond he can form with older kids. One thing is for sure and his foster family can attest to this: he makes a wonderful companion. Known for his bright personality, Rubix is an absolute sweetheart and so smart with an impressive command of tricks. He responds to commands like sit, down, settle, wait, search, drop it, and is a jokester who can even play dead! He’s house trained and will let you know when it’s time to go outside (and boy does he love playing outdoors). Whether he’s cuddling up for a nap like a full-body pillow with the nearest human or racing around the yard, Rubix brings joy to everyone around him. At the heart of it all, he simply just loves to be loved. This sweet boy is perfect for a family with older kids or empty nesters who can appreciate his energy and love for play. He adores other dogs and enjoys playing with them, though he may need an active family familiar with larger breeds (though in his head, he thinks he's a little guy not aware of his size). Rubix is the quintessential pup who loves toys and is always ready for adventure—whether it’s hiking, beach days, or jogging alongside you. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who thrives on love and play, Rubix is your guy! Let’s give him the fresh start he’s been dreaming of. Apply today to adopt Rubix at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application using a computer or laptop. Together, we can make a difference for this amazing pup. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!
