Meet Rico, a friendly and affectionate pup with a playful side! Rico is a young, athletic dog who loves spending time with his favourite humans. He's a loyal companion who loves nothing more than showing his humans love and appreciation through kisses. Though Rico loves to make new four-legged friends, he has a lot of energy and is very playful so that he would do best in a home without any other pets. Rico has a lot of love to give, and he's looking for a forever home where he can get all the love, exercise, and attention he needs. Do you have room in your heart and home for this cute canine?

Story
My name is Arnie! I am an around 2 to 2.5 years old and just under 60 lbs. I am a bulky and very squeezable mix of likely Basset Hound (yep - I am a low rider), Red Heeler and maybe pointer. I could have lab in there too! I likely have many things that make me a really special boy. I certainly turn heads when I am out. This is my deal, I am a loyal, friendly and an adjusted dog. I am housebroken, I am crate trained and I walk pretty well on leash. I do love other dogs and could live with another nice pup to hang out with and play. I am totally neutral with all other dogs - I just want to be friends! I am fine with kids. I have met real young ones without issue but most of my experience has been around 7+. I love when the kids go outside to play with me and hang out. I would really like an owner who likes to go on walks because I do enjoy them! A fenced in yard is totally fine but I like to see the sights. I like to play with my toys and can entertain myself with a long lasting chew. I have never met a stranger! Wherever I go, I am happy to meet new people. I am a catch and a snuggler too! Here is a link if you would like to apply for me! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
Meet our active, happy boy Loki!! Loki is a male pointer mix around 5 years old. He is incredibly toy driven and loves playing fetch or running around the yard on his own chasing a ball. Loki was rescued in 2022 when a family member was discovered to be deathly allergic to dogs. Loki is good with people and has an extremely high prey drive so he would do best in a home with no other animals or younger children.

Story
Rhianna is looking for a quiet home where she can get walks and lots of time in the sunshine. She is a quiet girl that likes to be nearby but not in your lap. She loves her family, but is not comfortable around new people or strangers. She has been living with her family since she was a puppy. The family has dealt with their shyness around new people but, Things changed when a new baby came on the scene. The baby is now five years old and has special needs. Her unpredictable motor movements keep Rhianna on edge. For the safety of both, the parents would like to see Rhianna go into a quiet home where predictable routines will give her security. All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet. Breed and size is frequently a guess and can not be guaranteed. Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl. Initial contact with us must be made through e-mail. E-mail ARFofMercer@gmail.com directly for an adoption application or with any questions. Once your adoption application is approved, you will be invited to meet our dogs/puppies.

Story
Hailey, affectionately nicknamed Lele, is a 4-year-old, 35-lb Shepherd mix with a bright mind, a loyal heart, and a big personality. Her superpowers include her exceptional intuition and communication skills—she’s one of the most communicative dogs her foster has ever cared for. Lele is house-trained, leash-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and shake. She also excels with recall and will come to her foster every single time, even in distracting environments. She thrives on routine and structure, needing two active play or exercise sessions each day—and once her energy is out, she’s content to relax or nap until the next one. Lele adores children and would thrive in a home with kids who can shower her with attention and playtime. She’s gentle, patient, and intuitive around little ones, making her a truly ideal family dog. Lele has an incredibly warm and outgoing personality—she thrives on human connection and is always eager to make new friends. Her charm is undeniable: she’ll joyfully greet people by rubbing against their legs like a cat before flopping onto her back for belly rubs. Her quirky, affectionate greetings never fail to amuse, making her a wonderful match for adopters seeking a social, engaging, and delightfully spirited companion. Lele is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY, and her adoption fee is $425. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
