Story
This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.   Meet Pip! This stunning 2-year-old, 45 lb Pointer mix is a bundle of energy and love! With her gorgeous coat and keen hunting instinct, Pip is always ready for an adventure—whether it's a long walk, chasing squirrels (from a safe distance, of course ), or exploring the great outdoors. But don’t let her energetic side fool you—she also adores cuddle time and will be your most loyal snuggle buddy. Pip will thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and burn off some of that energy. A training class is required to help her channel her enthusiasm into good manners, but she’s eager to learn and bond with her forever family. If you're looking for an active, loving companion, Pip is your girl! Apply today to meet this beautiful pup!  *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.October 4, 2025, 10:34 am

Story
Meet our active, happy boy Loki!! Loki is a male pointer mix around 5 years old. He is incredibly toy driven and loves playing fetch or running around the yard on his own chasing a ball. Loki was rescued in 2022 when a family member was discovered to be deathly allergic to dogs. Loki is good with people and has an extremely high prey drive so he would do best in a home with no other animals or younger children.

Story
Come meet me and 75+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's Super Adoption Event, Furever Yours! Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at Paradise Island in Staten Island from 11am - 3pm! Meet Hailey! Hailey, affectionately nicknamed Lele, is a 4-years-11-months-old 35-lb Shepherd mix with a bright mind, a loyal heart, and a big personality. Her superpowers include her exceptional intuition and communication skills—she’s one of the most communicative dogs her foster has ever cared for. Lele is house-trained, leash-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and shake. She also excels with recall and will come to her foster every single time, even in distracting environments. She thrives on routine and structure, needing two active play or exercise sessions each day—and once her energy is out, she’s content to relax or nap until the next one. Lele adores children and would thrive in a home with kids who can shower her with attention and playtime. She’s gentle, patient, and intuitive around little ones, making her a truly ideal family dog. Lele has an incredibly warm and outgoing personality—she thrives on human connection and is always eager to make new friends. Her charm is undeniable: she’ll joyfully greet people by rubbing against their legs like a cat before flopping onto her back for belly rubs. Her quirky, affectionate greetings never fail to amuse, making her a wonderful match for adopters seeking a social, engaging, and delightfully spirited companion. Hailey is currently being fostered in Elizabeth, NJ and her adoption fee is $425. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
She is the sweetest, most loyal girl whose favorite things in life are being pet, cuddling up close, and lazily hanging out. She thrives on calm, one-on-one attention and would do best in a home where she can be the only dog and where there are no young children who don’t yet understand boundaries, as she does not enjoy being handled by littles. She will be turning 8 on March 10th, and I have been lucky enough to love her since she was 2—she has truly been my first baby. Unfortunately, she does not do well around young babies, and with a now 15-month-old, we have made the incredibly difficult and heartbreaking decision to rehome her so she can have the peaceful, safe environment she deserves. I am looking for someone who is committed for the long term, who will love her and care for her for the rest of her life the way we always have. Ideally, I would love to stay in touch through social media to check in on her, though text communication is completely fine as well.

Story
Catfish was brought to the shelter as a stray, carrying the quiet evidence of a hard life in the scars on her face and body. The chaos of the shelter overwhelmed her, and when she fell ill, she was placed on the euthanasia list. Thanks to a dedicated foster, Catfish was rescued just in time. Catfish has so much love to give—she’s just still learning how to receive it. She can be overly eager for affection, trying to get as close as possible, not out of pushiness but because love is still new to her. With patience, she’s discovering that kindness can be calm and safe. She does well with other dogs, enjoys a good rough-and-tumble play session, and responds well to appropriate corrections. Catfish is ready for a home where she can finally feel loved and cherished for the rest of her days. She is fostered in Brooklyn, NY, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet her. To get the adoption process started, please send us an application at https://bit.ly/rosr-adopt-foster.

Story
Charlie - 1.5 years old, Pointer Mix, 50lbs, Neutered This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Questions about Charlie? Want to chat all things Charlie? Please email Julie@socialteesnyc.org. This sweet boy has waited far too long for his forever home!  Want to see some videos of Charlie? Please click here.    Our Team Says: You can’t post Charlie without including his doggy foster sibling. This 1.5-year-old pointer mix deeply values his canine connections, so it’s only fair to make it clear upfront that he’ll need a home with another pup. He is a stress case during transitions and in loud areas, but when he’s got dog buddies around and has had a minute to relax, he’s ridiculous. Silly, snuggly, acrobatic, eager for love. He’s 50 lbs and will need a home in the burbs with another pup."His awesome foster mom says: "Charlie is a truly special boy who has blossomed during the nearly 7 months we’ve had the joy of fostering him. Once an extremely shy pup who was scared of his own shadow, he has grown into a tail-wagging, fun-loving dog who happily frolics on the beach, plays in the snow, and makes fast friends with dogs everywhere he goes. Charlie is curious, playful, and absolutely adores other dogs. He loves meeting them, running around together, and playing with any toy he can find. Fetch on the beach or in the yard is a favorite. While he can be shy around new people at first, with patience and time he warms up beautifully. When he is off leash at the beach, his confidence truly shines and he will happily say hello to people and run around with their dogs. He does not have an aggressive bone in his body. Charlie is gentle, kind, and silly, and he loves giving a little paw when he wants attention. Like many young dogs, he may bark occasionally at something unfamiliar, such as the mailman, but he is truly all bark and no bite. He also loves food and may jump on the counter if you are not looking, which is very typical puppy behavior and continues to improve with training and maturity. Charlie has made huge progress with walking on and off leash and is, outside of rare circumstances, fully potty trained. With a few walks during the day and one before bed, he is very consistent. Inside the house, he enjoys snuggling and napping or playing with our dog, Rosie. As long as the space is puppy-proofed, Charlie can also be left alone for several hours with a treat and toys and will settle down until you return. Charlie would thrive in a suburban home with a fenced yard where he has space to roam and safely burn off energy. He would do wonderfully with another dog, as he truly loves canine companionship. He is still growing into himself and becomes more confident every day. With the right home, Charlie will be an incredible and loving addition!" TOLERANCE TO CITYCountry Mouse- Charlie cannot live in the city, the sounds and hustle-bustle are too much for him. A fenced-in yard, preferably with another dog to play with, we think is his ideal environment.POTTY TRAININGYes- Charlie will really only have an accident if he is meeting new people or there is some commotion going on, which causes him to nervously pee. But other than that he is very good at going outside!COMFORT LEVEL WITH STRANGERSWallflower- Charlie takes a long time to warm up to newcomers if they come into the house-he usually also will run away from strangers walking towards him when out for a walk. He is a little more comfortable around women than men in that regard, but he still takes some time to get used to new people and feel comfortable and safe around them. With time and exposure he grows more comfortable, but it is a process.BEHAVIOR WITH CHILDRENMaybe for ages 12 and up- We would say a big *maybe* only because we haven't seen Charlie around children before. He is not in any way hostile or aggressive towards anyone while we've had him, he just takes time to warm up to people and, we don't believe, he would handle children being too overly familiar and excitable around him right away.SOCIAL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER DOGSYes-Charlie LOVES playing with other dogs. Our golden retriever and him get along extremely well and he loves going to my parents house and spending quality time with their dog as well!RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER ANIMALSNot sure- Very much a "not sure" here, we've only seen Charlie interact with other dogs but not other animals in the home or otherwise.MOUTHY BEHAVIORNeeds Training- Charlie is incredibly sweet and excitable-he loves to play by gnawing, nibbling and biting which requires some work to regulate. He also LOVES to chew on things other than toys (tissue boxes, hats, headphones, etc.) if he's a little restless and wants to play. "Dog-proofing" rooms for when he is to be left alone unsupervised, so that he doesn't have that much access to things to chew on, along with a lot of distracting toys and treats at one's disposal, will be very important. SEPARATION ANXIETYPast this stage- Charlie is completely fine being left alone for multiple hours. He just sometimes gets so excited when you're back that he'll jump and scratch at the door to be let out so he can say hi!LEASH MANNERSGetting the hang of it- We're working to establish some consistency and discipline with Charlie on the leash. He is getting much more accustomed to the routine of walking but does pull hard to go back home if he is startled or scared. It helps to stop him when he does that and hold him for a little and tell him that everything is okay. After that he stabilizes a little bit. It's a work in progress but he is improving consistently!CUDDLE BUG LEVELMedium- Charlie loves to sleep, cuddle, and snuggle. He loves to get in bed with me and my wife to sleep, and will curl up near us on the couch when we're hanging out as well. He is so sweet!JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLONeeds training- One thing we're working on a lot with him now-Charlie is a leaping lizard! He loves to give you his paw and jump on you when he's excited-we're trying to work on regulating those impulses. It is not aggressive in any way, he just gets excited and wants to play or say hi to you!CRATE TRAININGNot at all- I believe Charlie has had prior experience with a crate but we don't use one with him now. When we leave him alone for whatever reason we leave him in our room with the door closed and with our other dog, along with a bowl of water and some treats/toys. This doesn't mean he CAN'T be crated, we just haven't had any reason to so far. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intakeHow did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2652595##
