Story
Meet our active, happy boy Loki!! Loki is a male pointer mix around 5 years old. He is incredibly toy driven and loves playing fetch or running around the yard on his own chasing a ball. Loki was rescued in 2022 when a family member was discovered to be deathly allergic to dogs. Loki is good with people and has an extremely high prey drive so he would do best in a home with no other animals or younger children.

Story
Meet Hailey! This sweet 4-year-old, 35 pound Shepherd mix loves people (especially kids) and enjoys playing with other dogs at the park. Despite a tough start in life, Hailey is friendly, affectionate, and eager to make new friends. She greets people by rubbing against their legs and rolling over for belly rubs—her playful personality is sure to bring smiles! Hailey is fully housetrained, and she'll let you know when she needs to go outside by pacing at the door. She's also quick to communicate her needs and emotions, whether it's initiating play or showing anxiety with subtle growls. In just a short time, she’s learned how to express herself clearly. Hailey is crate- and leash-trained and knows basic commands. She’s adapted well to city life, even taking her first train ride without issue, quickly making a new friend on board! She’s a great companion for active families but is also content to relax after a good walk or play session. Hailey would do well in a home where she gets plenty of exercise and attention, but she’s not demanding and can handle some alone time as long as she gets her daily walks. If she sounds like the perfect companion for you, apply to adopt her today! Hailey is currently fostered in Brooklyn, NY, and her adoption fee is $475. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Scott is a handsome boy who is looking for a new home. Scott is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters.  Scott was found as a stray and taken in by our partner rescue. His owner saw him on social media to let them know that he used to be their dog but they can't take care of him. She said he was an outside dog and ran off during a storm. Could you blame him? Left out 24/7 in the weather no matter if hot, cold, rain or wind...at the mercy of mosquitos 24/7 just about 365 days a year... a horrible way to live. Scott is doing great at the shelter and very loved by the volunteers. He is dog friendly! Scott is fixed, microchipped and he is up to date on rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. Of course he tested positive for heartworm due to his neglect but his treatment is underway. Treatment can be done in Louisiana or NJ if we find a foster willing to see him through it. His  adoption fee is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wagoninn.rescuegroups.org. Click on the orange  Online Adoption Application  button to fill out an application. A Wag On Inn volunteer will be in touch soon! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 19, 2025, 10:16 pm

Story
Charlie - 6 months & 42lbs (as of 4/5/25) Pointer Mix Neutered Expected to be about 50lbs Full Grown Our Team Says: Charlie needs a home in the burbs. He REALLY loves other dogs and would do really well in a home with another pup :)  This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Thier Foster Parent Says: "Hey ya’ll! Let me introduce Charlie, our southern gentleman from Tennessee! He’s a homebody and a snuggle bug. He enjoys quality time with his foster siblings, playing with his toys, cuddling up to a movie (secret life of pets.) He really is the most loving dog ever! He will shower you with kisses and hugs! The best part, he loves to nap with you! Now that he has been with us for about 5 weeks, he has opened himself up! He is your typical high energy dog that needs to be kept busy with toys, redirecting, and with enrichment toys/puzzles. He is a little mouthy but easily redirected and loves putting anything and everything in his mouth, so it is very important to keep an eye on him. He is such a goofy boy, clumsy, loving, loyal, eager to please, and just melts on your lap! He doesn’t realize his size but to him he’s just a five-pound chihuahua! He’s turned into quite the lap dog. We have come to learn that Charlie is not familiarize with the outside world, cars, people, certain household items, doorways and stairs. We have beenworking on getting him accustomed to all these new things. He’s been doing great going so far but still needs helps with walks, loud noises, people, and being outside. He does wonderful with his foster siblings and meeting new dogs! He has taken social cues from his sister mochi and is learning every day. He would thrive in a household with another pet sibling and a quiet area or a backyard. We start the morning off with a potty break and getting him used to sounds and people, then breakfast! Followed by some teeth brushing, usually around 7-8 a.m. He does sleep in and tries to fight you on potty time. He keeps himself entertain with his toys and playing with resident pets. Around noon he takes his second potty break of the day and an afternoon snack of kibble because he’s a growing boy! Shortly after he will put himself in his crate for an afternoon nap. Around 6-7 p.m. he usually has dinner and a potty break followed by his last potty break of the night around 10-11 p.m.Charlie is still getting used to certain things such as TV’s, doorways, stairs, people, certain noises, and being outside. Everything is new to him! And scary.Getting him outside has been challenging, but as long as he has a furry friend to teach him the ropes, he will be fine. He still needs help with walks and loud noises. He just needs patience and a confident handler that can put him at ease and preferably a quiet neighborhood (ideally the burbs).Charlie is potty trained and does his business outside if you’re on top of his schedule! No accidents, just if you keep up with his potty schedule. He has also mastered crate training, takes his meals in his crate and sleeps in his crate. He does not bark when left alone in his crate and sleeps soundly! He knows sit and stay and very treat motivated! He’s very intelligent and eager to please. He would make a great companion and friend." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy levelMEDIUM: Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Cuddle Bug Level-high Comfy with strangers?- Fine with meeting new people but not particularly interested, kind of shy in busy social situations like a gathering or a packed day in the park. Once he is inside he will shower them with kisses. He just needs to be in his safe space. Good with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision)- Yes for 12 and up -- may be a little energetic or a little skittish, best with older children that can be extra gentle or that are big enough not to get accidentally knocked down Good with Other Dogs?- Yes -- Good with all other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other canines Mouthy Behavior?- Is either still in the puppy stage or was never trained to not be mouthy. Wants to put everything in their mouth. Tries to chew on your hands when playing or needs attention, grabs the leash with its mouth, loves to gnaw on your personal belongings. He is easily corrected with a toy. Leash Manners?- Getting the Hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in its life but he is figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction. Okay in the city? Sort of -- Spooked easily by loud noises and bustling areas but walks pretty well and probably just needs more time to adjust (may be a puppy or a brand new rescue) Jumping on People to Say Hi?- Medium – Jumps up only on people the dog knows when really excited.Stops with correction. Separation Anxiety? -Low – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or do anything shitty whenyou leave the apartment or house. Crate training? -Yep/mostly – Seems comfortable in the crate, may whine a little at first but settles pretty quickly. We use the crate when we leave the pup alone and/or at night Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines (for dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age), spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
