Story
Meet Dixie – A Sweet Senior Looking for a Peaceful HomeDixie is a sweet, gentle 13-year-old senior dog who is looking for a loving home where she can enjoy her golden years at a slower pace. She has a calm personality, enjoys being around people, and would be happiest in a quiet, stable home with plenty of room to relax. As Dixie has gotten older, her future family should understand that she is a senior and may need more frequent opportunities to go outside, patience, and a home environment that is well suited for an older dog.Dixie would likely thrive in a larger home, especially one with a securely fenced yard or some land where she can easily spend time outside. A quieter household with adults or older/adult children would be the best fit for her.Dixie should be the only dog in the home so she can have her own space and receive the individual attention she deserves. She still has so much sweetness left to give and my hope is to find a home for this next chapter of her life.

Story
Hi, I’m Magnus. I’m a 2-year-old Pointer/Pit Bull mix with a gentle soul and a sweet, shy nature. I may not be the dog who runs right up to meet everyone, but if you give me a little time and patience, you’ll discover a loyal companion with a heart full of love. New people and unfamiliar situations can make me a bit nervous at first, so I like to take things slow and get to know you at my own pace. Once I feel comfortable, I enjoy being close to my favorite people and soaking up quiet affection. There’s nothing better than knowing I’m safe and loved. I’m looking for a family that understands that trust takes time and is willing to help me build my confidence. With gentle encouragement and a stable home, I know I’ll continue to come out of my shell and show just how wonderful a friend I can be. If you're searching for a kind-hearted dog who will form a special bond with you, I might be your perfect match. Come meet me and see if we're meant to be best friends! I am currently part of the Direct to Adopt Program in Austin, TX. With a committed adopter or foster, I can be transported to The Shelter Pet Adoption Center inside Petco, located at 10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville, NC 28078. If you’d like more information about me or want to talk about fostering or adopting, please reach out to my team by Email: NCteam@austinpetsalive.org or call: (704) 266-3647.

Story
Meet Peanut Butter! Peanut Butter is a six-month-old bundle of love wrapped in a tan-and-white coat. This sweet boy is what we lovingly call a "Velcro dog"—his favorite place in the world is right beside his person. While he's learning that it's okay to be a little independent, he still checks in often for reassurance and a loving glance from his favorite human. We suspect Peanut may have some pointer in his family tree, but whatever his mix, his personality is pure sweetheart. He loves toys—all the toys. In fact, one of his favorite daily activities is carefully emptying his toy box and spreading his treasured collection throughout the house. Why keep all the fun in one room when you can decorate several? Peanut gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. However, when it's snuggle time, he sometimes thinks he should be first in line for affection. He simply loves his people so much that sharing can be a work in progress. This handsome little guy is highly food-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He's currently learning his manners and making great progress. Peanut is mostly housebroken, though he occasionally needs a little extra encouragement to finish his business outside. He's often so excited to get back to his person—or so eager for the next meal—that he rushes through potty breaks. Peanut Butter would thrive in a home that appreciates a loyal companion who wants to be involved in everything. If you're looking for a loving shadow, a toy enthusiast, and a devoted best friend who will happily fill your days with affection, Peanut Butter may be the perfect match. After all, everything is better with a little Peanut Butter. --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html
