Story
Sweet, Gentle & Shy-Meet Elizabeth Elizabeth is a beautiful, 6-year old Pomeranian who weighs approximately 25 lbs. This sweet, gentle girl loves to lay outside in the shade or curl up on her cozy bed. She enjoys being in the same room/space as people, and likes to watch her human companions from a short distance. Her tail and ears perk up when she sees other dogs! And she loves to roam around in the yard and house with other pups before plopping down into a corner for a long nap-complete with the cutest puppy snores. Elizabeth is shy, but enjoys when you pet her head, gently brush her fur and speak to her in a soft voice-she even wags her tail a little! She also enjoys being carried. In a short time she has already learned to go up and down the stairs, and her potty training has improved immensely (about 75% of the way there!). At night she sleeps in a pack-and-play and has had no accidents. Elizabeth would do best in a patient home with another canine companion to show her the ropes. If you're looking for a quiet, curious girl to keep you company as you garden outside, read on your porch or watch a movie on the couch, she is your match. With love and attention, Elizabeth is sure to bloom into a sweet, vibrant dog! Elizabeth is currently being fostered in West New York, NJ. Her adoption fee is $600. Elizabeth is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Pansy is a delightful 6-year-old, 30-pound Pomsky with a lot of love to give. With her unique mix of Pomeranian and Husky, she's not only adorable but also full of personality. Pansy is a chatty and charming dog who loves to engage with her human friends. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up, she's a curious explorer who enjoys looking out the window and observing the world. Pansy is almost fully house-trained and, in the meantime, uses pee pads. Initially hesitant on the leash, she quickly becomes an enthusiastic walker who loves meeting other dogs and people. Be prepared for long walks and lots of attention! Pansy gets along well with other dogs and children, making her a great addition to a family. She thrives in a patient household willing to continue her training and help her feel secure and loved. We are gradually introducing Pansy to different foods and discovering her preferences. Her new family will need to continue this journey to ensure she gets the best nutrition. Pansy would flourish in a patient and loving home ready to invest time in her training and care. She is a wonderful companion who will bring joy and love to her forever family. If you think you're the right match for Pansy, please contact us to learn more about this sweet girl. She's ready to find her forever home and become your loyal companion! Pansy is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $600. Pansy is a Patron Pup. Story
Meet Toby..the all American pup. We can not decide if he is more beautiful inside or out. Toby has NEVER met a stranger - he loves every dog, every person big and small. He lives with 5 other small dogs and just runs with the pack effortlessly. BUT Toby’s TRUE LOVE is his people. Not feeling like petting Toby? He will help show you how by petting YOU!! He is a VERY affectionate dog and would love nothing more than to sit on your lap for ETERNITY. He LOVES belly rubs, snuggles and long walks. He is a romantic too. He will play as long as you want to play and watch movies as long as you want to watch movies. He is a highly adaptable dog and does well in many situations. He will occasionally cry when being left in his crate or separated from his people but it’s not every time or a long lasting tantrum. He just lets you know he is NOT pleased about it. He is crate, leash and house trained. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $750. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
BROOKLYN, NY: Lovely lady Ajax is cuter than a button, loves her fellow dogs, and is ready to be your best gal pal! Adorable Ajax is estimated to be 8 years young and weighs 19 lbs. She is incredibly playful and happy to be alive! Sadly, she was found as a stray, just a tiny little girl in a crazy, huge city. But with her stunning good looks and slightly pudgy, potato body, we know she had a home somewhere – a home she was missing terribly while at the shelter. Ajax was rescued from euthanasia in March 2024 and has been in a loving foster home since, harmoniously living with 2 other dogs (but likes to chase the cat). Ajax is spunky cutie patutie, but also loving and affectionate. She is a fun-loving and lively middle aged lady. Ajax is very friendly with other dogs and happy to make new friends, adjusting very quickly in foster care. She loves to snuggle up next to a nice warm body – human or canine. She will roll over for belly rubs and be so excited to see you when waking up or arriving home. And her charming little face just brightens up your day! Ajax is fully vetted, spayed, recently groomed, and micro chipped. Beautiful Ajax might be small, but her love is BIG! After everything she has been through, Ajax would love to have the stability of a forever home in which she can shower her person or people with all her love! Can that be with you? If you can open your heart and home to sweet little Ajax, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at AmsterDog.org. Please fill out an application to adopt Ajax at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need!
