Sweet one-eyed Ilya has a story written all over his gentle little face. We’re not sure what happened to his eye, but it certainly doesn’t slow him down — if anything, it just makes him even more special. He was surrendered to the local animal shelter in Jersey City, where he was absolutely terrified. We stepped in to save him, and once he felt safe, his true personality began to shine. Ilya comes out of his shell quickly and reveals the most incredibly sweet, soft soul. He is gentle, quiet, and affectionate — and honestly, he acts like a cat! He loves to curl up, observe the world calmly, and soak in love in the most delicate way. Suspected to be a senior around 7–8 years old, Ilya is past the chaos and just wants comfort, kindness, and a cozy spot to call his own. He is good with other dogs and all people, and his tender nature makes him such an easy companion. Ilya is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines — and ready for a peaceful forever home where he will never feel scared again. Introducing our newest sweet senior, Cali! This 10 year old Pomsky has been a frequent flyer at a local shelter, kept outside and running loose on a regular basis. This last time her owners didn’t come back for her so she finally has the chance for a better life and responsible loving home. She’s a sweetheart, blind but navigates well, loves being brushed and belly rubs, and is fine with other smallish gentle dogs (she’s about 17lbs full grown and looks like an oversized Pomeranian). She’s been spayed, had a dental, and had a small benign mammary mass removed and has recovered nicely, and is ready for a home that appreciates her loyalty and lovely disposition. Meet Ruki🌟 💙 Ruki’s Foster Account: @rookie_adogs 1⃣ Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped, heartworm negative and dental scaling complete. * Due to consistent treatment, Ruki has completely recovered from his skin condition and the darkened skin has become pink again. 2⃣ Rescue Story * Ruki (a puppy of #AdogsMiso) was rescued from a hoarder’s home in Gimje, and had been transferred to the Gimje City Shelter. Ruki already had a skin condition and wasn’t able to get proper treatment at the shelter, so Adogs rescued him before it became worse. 3⃣ Basic Information ❗️As a young puppy, he may need training in areas such as separation anxiety, potty habits, biting, nipping, whining, disorderly behaviors, howling and barking. ❗️It is difficult to predict his shedding and growth size because his parents are unknown. * With People: Is shy with new people and isn’t comfortable with human touch yet, so he must be cornered before he can be petted. However, he accepts it nicely once you actually touch him although he still needs more time to become comfortable with it since he’s timid. Lives and moves around comfortably around familiar people. Has overcome his fear of hands and he will he sniffs hands if they come near his nose. * With Dogs: Got along with no issues with other dogs when he lived at the Adogs Center. Hasn’t met new friends yet after moving to his foster home. * With Cats: Hasn’t met cats yet. * Separation Anxiety: Stays alone well. * Potty Training: Was previously excellent with pottying indoors using potty pads, but after a visit to the vet, has started having accidents on cushions when scared, whining to have it cleaned up. Is being slowly retrained. * Grooming: Does well with baths. * Walks: Hasn’t had experience with walks yet. * Car Sickness: Has a little bit of car sickness so care is needed. * Biting: Is a kind dog that’s never bitten. * Barking: Whines if he’s forcibly held. If he has a potty accident, he whines as if asking to have it cleaned up. * Likes: Likes treats but the vet suggested to cut back on them, so he’s only being fed a few treats. * Dislikes: Is scared of loud noises and becomes afraid if you move your hands downwards suddenly. Whines and expresses discomfort if you try to hold him. May have potty accidents if you set him down on the floor in areas with many people or at the vet. If you hold him with his bottom well supported, he feels safer. * Tricks: Has started crate training, but there hasn’t been much progress yet.

After a long process of persuasion, Adogs team obtained a relinquishment agreement from their owner and safely rescued both dogs. Thankfully, Boksunga has been adopted and is living a new life, and Bamtori has regained his health with proper medical treatment and care after the rescue. 3⃣ Personality & Characteristics • With People: Loves people — even strangers! Is very friendly and affectionate right away. Easily trusts familiar people and seeks comfort from them. Is a sweet, loving little dog who enjoys being petted and loves to climb into people’s laps for cuddles. • With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Used to enjoy running and playing with his best friend #AdogsJoseph, who has since been adopted. Is very calm and enjoys her alone time. • With Cats: Lived peacefully with cats at the center. • Separation Anxiety: Since he lives in a group setting at the center, it’s hard to assess precisely. However, seems to do well even when people are not around. • House Training: Currently stays indoors at the center and uses pee pads well. • Grooming: Generally tolerates being handled and groomed quite well. • Car Rides: Relaxes comfortably and rests well during car rides. • Biting: Doesn’t bite at all — is a gentle and calm boy. • Barking: Barks occasionally, which is soft and not bothersome. • Likes: Is a people-loving, friendly dog who greets everyone warmly! • Dislikes: Sometimes gets jealous when others receive attention, due to his affection to people. If someone he likes pets a smaller dog, he might give that dog a little jealous scolding.
