History: Kawaii is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She is very timid and uncertain so a patient family will be so important for her success long-term! A Note from the Foster: Kawaii is a seven-year-old blue Pomeranian who is just beginning her journey into a life she has never known before. After spending her entire life in a commercial breeding environment, she was shaved down prior to her release to rescue. While we can’t know exactly what her coat will grow back like, we can imagine the beautiful Pom she once was — and will be again in her own time. More importantly, Kawaii herself is still very much at the earliest stages of healing. Right now, Kawaii is scared and skittish and not ready for hands-on affection. She is not a dog who will come running for pets or cuddles, and she will need a family who understands that trust must be earned slowly and gently. That said, behind her fear is a very silly little soul — especially when food is involved! She loves her meals, perks up for snacks, and shows us glimpses of personality that make us smile every day. Kawaii does not yet have leash-walking skills and will need patient, positive training to help her learn the basics of being a companion dog. She would do best in a home with other calm, confident dog companions, as dogs help her feel safe and show her what “normal life” looks like. Kawaii is not a beginner dog. She will require: A quiet, predictable home Extremely patient, kind adopters No expectations for immediate affection Willingness to let her set the pace Understanding that progress may be slow and nonlinear What she will give in return is the opportunity to watch a dog truly blossom — to see fear slowly replaced with curiosity, and uncertainty turn into trust. A Note from the Foster: Hi, I’m Jiffpom! My foster Mom says I'm an adorable little peanut! I’m a 6-month-old Pomeranian and weigh about 7 pounds. I’m a fun, cuddly, and pretty calm little guy who loves playing with my furry foster brothers and sisters (small and medium-sized dogs and cats)—and then curling up for some cozy snuggle time. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but once I know you’re my person, I will love you with my whole heart. I really enjoy being held and cuddling on the couch with you. Sometimes I get a little anxious when I’m alone, but I’m learning every day and usually do fine if I’m distracted or gently redirected. I’d really love a home with another dog to be my buddy—it helps me feel safe and happy. I’m doing well with potty training (still learning, but I’m a smart boy, so I know I’ll get it!). I already know how to sit, especially when treats are involved—because treats are sooooo yummy! I’m not the biggest fan of my kennel, but I do sleep quietly in it at night when it’s next to the bed, and I eat calmly as long as someone sits with me. I’m a sweet, sensitive little soul who wants love, patience, and a best friend (or two). If you’re looking for a loyal cuddle buddy, I might be your guy.

A Note from the Foster: Hello world! I was rescued from a breeder release situation and I am LOVING the new life! I am so friendly with no fear and get along with people of all ages, and dogs of all kinds! I love cats too, but have to be reminded to be gentle. I am teething, So I do chew, but so well with redirection! I love to play and then cuddle right up on you when I am done! I absolutely love my foster people and follow them everywhere! I have some separation anxiety, so when my people aren't in my view I do tend to panic a little, but I'm fearful of being left again! Then kennel is a little daunting as I can't see you when I'm in there, but I quiet down after about 10 minutes. Toys and chews are so great and I love food And being held!! I am getting much better at potty training and am very smart and picking up on training.
