Story
**Pugs are prone to lots of major health issues, like heat stroke, eye issues, and skin allergies, so we are specifically looking for a pug-savvy home for Pugsley.**   Pugsley is a gentle soul eager for love! Pugsley is estimated to be 6 years old and is a sweet and affectionate guy who bonds strongly with his people. Unlike most pugs, he can be shy when meeting new people and in new situations, so he is looking for a patient family to help him continue to gain confidence. Once he makes himself comfortable, he is a goofy guy who loves his soft, squeaky toys and cuddling on the couch. Pugsley currently weighs about 20lbs. Pugsley was found as a stray after he was hit by a car. He was brought to the animal shelter and found to have a fracture of the femoral head. Thanks to the wonderful UC Davis Fracture Program, he was able to get a procedure called a femoral head ostectomy, and he was transferred to our care to heal in a foster home. Pugsley has made a great recovery and is back to normal activity. The only special care he will need is to stay at a lean weight to keep him healthy (which is already important for pugs). Pugsley is a loyal companion who is quick to become your BFF with a gentle touch and tasty treats (he is a pug after all!). He warms up quickly to women and has learned to make friends with men after a slow introduction. He is a submissive guy who just needs patience to thrive. He would love a quiet home with people who can shower him with love. He is a total cuddlebug who will make himself comfy in your lap while you lounge at home, but is also a big fan of his daily walks in the cool morning/evening weather. Like all pugs, he makes the funniest little grunting and snorting noises and snores the night away. Pugsley doesn't seem to have been taught any tricks in his previous life, but we love him anyway. Pugsley has done very well living with other small dogs, but can easily be overwhelmed by bigger or in-your-face dogs. He likes his dog friends to be easy-going like him. He also would have no problem being your only pup. Pugsley has done very well living with cats, and is respectful of their space (but he will try to get into the litter box). Due to his shy personality, Pugsley would do best in an adult-only home or with respectful kids over 10 years old. Pugsley appears to have been taught how to pee on a pee pad in his previous life and is still adjusting to pottying outside. He will need a family committed to continuing his training, or be okay with him being pee pad trained. Pugsley does well in his crate for short periods and needs to be crated when alone, as he will get into things he's not supposed to when not supervised. He is happy to sleep through the night in a dog bed in the bedroom, but would probably be happy to join you in bed if you let him. Pugsley has been doing well living in an apartment, but housetraining may be easier in a home with a yard. Pugsley had a skin infection when he came into our care, and we suspect that he has a flea bite allergy. He should be kept up-to-date with monthly flea preventatives to prevent any further skin irritation. Pugsley is such a wonderful guy, and he is going to make someone very happy! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Pugsley's adoption fee is $500.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. May 6, 2026, 9:10 pm

Story
Dynamic Danny is a sweet and charming one-year-old Pug mix, who is eager to find his forever home. He is the sweetest boy with lots of love to give. Weighing about 14 pounds, he has a tan coat mostly smooth coat that should be easy to care for. Rescued out in the country along with three other dogs—believed to include his mom, Daisy, a French Bulldog/Pug mix, and some siblings from different litters—Danny is a bit shy at first but warms up quickly and enjoys the company of people. He gets along well with other dogs and is in the process of learning leash manners and house training, making good progress with routines like “go potty” and using the doggie door. Danny is scheduled to be neutered soon but is available for adoption now; he is microchipped and vaccinated. We’re looking for a home with breed experience and to help continue his training and socialization. With his loving nature and adorable personality, Danny is sure to bring happiness and completeness to the right family. Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi!! My name is Koa! ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I am a very sweet boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am around 10 to 11 years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a pit bull mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am 50 pounds of muscle. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a tan little muscular boy with a big smile and an even bigger heart. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love my food and treats as well. I have discovered that I enjoy fruit as well like bananas, blueberries and apples. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a pretty chill little man that loves his chew toys. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day starts with grabbing my favorite toy and heading outside to do a little sniffing around. Then I take care of business and head back in the house to get breakfast. I usually like to fall back to sleep while chewing on my favorite toy. I nap most of the day, potty, eat, play…the simple things in life make me happy! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love all toys that I can chomp down on, but I do have a pink rubber ball that is my favorite. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I have learned how to sit and I have discovered that I get treats when I do it. So, I sit even before I am asked to now. WHAT SCARES YOU? Loud noises like vacuums and fireworks scare me. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I do like children, but I don’t like to share my toys, so no children under 13 please. DO YOU LIKE CATS? No cats please. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I have been through a lot in my past, so I would like to get all of the attention. No other doggies please. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would like to be anywhere where I get lots of love and treats. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am a healthy boy. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I currently live with my foster mom. Her boyfriend comes over frequently and I love to lay on his lap. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang out in my crate. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate. It is my safe, cozy space and I can relax and just be chill in there. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I like walking on my leash. I like to carry my pink ball with me as I walk on my leash. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I do like to steal brooms and chew them up, so brooms should be out of my sight. I also like to bark when playing with my pink toy outside. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? Heck yeah! I am all good with the potty stuff… no worries there! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I run to the bathroom for bath/shower time! Swimming? I am not built for water sports, so let’s make it a team effort to keep me safe from pools and other large bodies of water, okay? WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I have learned that people aren’t so bad. I get lots of cuddles and treats! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I had a not so good life before coming to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue. I was brought in after being shot in the head and arm. (Yikes, right? Scary!) But I am so lucky that NorCal Bully Breed Rescue took me in and nursed me back to health. I have put all that behind me now and I am doing great! I am looking for my forever home that can give me lots of love! Maybe you are looking for a chill guy who just wants to be loved and have a few toys to play with? I promise to love you for the rest of my life and give you lots of cuddles and kisses! ***KOA’s ADOPTION FEE IS $100** If you are interested in Koa please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For more information on where we adopt to and what that means and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n Thank you so much in advance for understanding!!

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! My name is Fig!   ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am the MOST adorable young lady!   HOW OLD ARE YOU? Best we can tell, I was probably born around May 2024.   WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a super cute low rider bully mix.   HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? My ideal weight is around 35 pounds. I am working hard to attain that weight through a low calorie diet because I have gained a few extra pounds as I have gotten healthy and comfortable in foster care. At the moment, I weigh 40 pounds.   WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a wrinkly face, a cute underbite, and short, chubby legs. My coloring is fawn, and, in the sun, I glow like a beautiful star. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention my gorgeous light green eyes!   WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? As I mentioned, I am watching my calories, so my foster parents feed me a good quality, low calorie kibble.   WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am the sweetest girl ever! One of my favorite things to do is cuddle with a human on the couch because I love the attention. Attention is really the thing for me…I want to be the center of attention, the star of the show, and the life of the party! I am still young, so I have a lot of energy for walks and playtime. Let’s play fetch or tug with my toys!   DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I am pretty chill in the morning and will wait patiently for my humans to start the day. After dealing with the morning business, I love to go for a walk or a car ride, followed by lots of couch cuddles and naps. After some playtime with my foster brother, we both like to bake in the sun like the potatoes that we are! In sum: naps, cuddles, playtime, and sunbathing would be the perfect day for me.   WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love pretty much all the toys! Nibbling on my squeaky stuffies is the current favorite, though.   DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Yes! I know how to sit and stay, and I will “go to apartment,” which is my fancy bedroom pen where I eat my meals and sleep. Oh, and perhaps my best trick is getting any and all humans to sit down on the couch and let me get up on their lap! I am an expert at that trick!   WHAT SCARES YOU? Oh, I am definitely not a fan of loud noises. I am slowly making friends with the vacuum cleaner and the blender—but those things still seem pretty suspicious, if you ask me. To help keep me from getting too scared when I’m alone, my foster mom makes sure I am relaxed and comfortable by turning on the television with soft music.   HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have hung out with some older kids (over 12 years old) and I did very well. That was fun! I do tend to get excited and jump up on people to get their attention, so it would probably be best if I am in a home with older kids only.   DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven’t been around any cats, so I can’t say one way or the other. It is probably best that we stick to dog friends for me, thanks.   HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I live with two other dogs in my foster home and we get along great. Introductions were taken slowly to set us up for a successful friendship, and I think that slow intros are key for me. It will help me to have time to get used to a new home, then gradually increasing exposure to any resident dogs in stages. I am playful and fun, and if we do this right, I will be an amazing friend for your dogs!   IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would be on the couch, lying comfortably right next to my human or, better yet, lying comfortably ON my human! I will fall asleep as the happiest little nugget in your arms!   HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am a strong and healthy girl! After I get to my goal weight, I will just need to maintain it and we are good to go!   WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster parents, my foster brother Fez, and my foster sister Hazel. My closest companion is my foster mom, who is my cuddle buddy on the couch as she reads or watches television.   WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am really great in my “apartment” when my humans leave the house! I settle quickly on my bed and calmly wait for them to return.   WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep comfortably in my cozy apartment. We have occasional slumber parties where we all pile into my foster parents’ bed, and I am such a good girl! I sleep through the night like an angel.   DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love walks! I get really excited to see my leash come out and then it is so much fun to get out and about in the neighborhood. Sometimes I will just stop mid-stride to spend some time taking in the amazing smells (who doesn’t love all the smells, right?).   DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I mentioned above that it’s all about me getting all the attention, right? Yeah, that’s the thing. I have a habit of nipping fingers and jumping up on people when I greet them. I am working on not doing this because I know I should be sitting quietly waiting for people to pet me. It’s hard because I love people so much and want to get their attention right away. I hope to learn how to control my excitement better. I will benefit from a forever home that will continue to work with me on my manners and training for good behaviors.   ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? My foster parents make sure that I have access to the backyard on a regular schedule to help prevent accidents in the house. I’ve done great! I sleep through the night with no problem (yay, me!) and I will take myself outside if the door is open. But it is helpful to have a reminder to “go potty” because I sometimes get caught up in all the fun that is happening inside the house and forget to go out.   DO YOU LIKE WATER? I don’t like the hose at all. But I absolutely love a warm, soapy bath. I get all blissed out to the point that I actually fell asleep while bathing the other day!   WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that my foster family makes me feel safe and loved. While I am learning good behaviors, they are so patient with my training. I feel very lucky to have a foster family that is helping me get used to a whole new, wonderful way of life. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was found roaming the streets of San Francisco. I was extremely skinny and was brought to SF Animal Care and Control. Luckily, I didn’t have to stay at that place very long before NorCal Bully Breed Rescue got me out of there and brought me to my foster home. While in foster care, I have gained weight, my coat is shiny, I give wet sloppy kisses, and I am a great companion dog now. It is time for me to find my forever family! Are you ready to bring me home with you? **FIG’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.** If you are interested in adopting Fig, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hello! I am Martini! ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I'm a girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I think I'm about five years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am an American Bully mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am 50 svelte pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I look like a lot of fun. But, I'm also a stocky girl with a black/tri-colored coat and the hugest smile! So yeah, I’m gorgeous! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Oh, I think the easier question here would be, “What do you NOT like to eat?” And the answer would be, “Nothing!” If you’re offering, I’m eating! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I'm a bunch of fun. I'm outgoing and love to run around. I love everyone I meet, and everyone I meet says I’m a bundle of fun! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I love everything everyday. I'm super happy whether we're outside hanging out or lounging inside. I'm your gal! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I'm not really into toys. Occasionally, I'll chew on a Nylabone. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know how to eat all the food in my bowl. Pretty tricky, right? I come when called and I kennel up nicely. WHAT SCARES YOU? Not a thing. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I haven't been around young children. I think kids eight years and above would be best as I have some smooth moves that only older kids can appreciate. DO YOU LIKE CATS? No cats for me. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like other dogs with a proper introduction. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Free fallin' in love with you. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m all good! Ready to take on all that life has to offer! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I hang out with several other dogs. We can run and play all day. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am so happy hanging out, usually belly-up, in my kennel. I catch up on my beauty sleep and truly love my down time. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Same as above. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Sure do! If it gets me out and about in the big fabulous world, count me in! DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Hmm. Is wagging my tail nonstop with a giant smile on my face a not-so-great habit? No? OK, then no, I do not have anything to report here. My foster mom says I am PERFECT, and I tend to agree with her! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yes I do! I’m such a good girl! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I like to drink water but no pools/ponds or lakes for me. I'm not a swimmer, I have more of a powerlifter physique. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They took me in when no one else would. I was stuck at the shelter until they came and fell in love with me and took me home. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? That's water under the bridge. Nothing but great days ahead as long as I'm with you. Let’s have some fun! I’ll be your best friend forever! **MARTINI’s ADOPTION FEE IS $300.00** If you are interested in MARTINI, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas.
