Have you heard the phrase, a face only a mother could love? Well, let us introduce you to the inspiration for it. Meet Guppy! This little guy may not have won the genetics lottery, but what he lacks in looks he makes up for in charm. He could be a pug mix, he could not be. Perhaps bulldog? Only a DNA test will reveal the truth. Do we really know his age? Could he be 2 or 7, who is to say? He was born without his right eye, has a uniquely shaped head, a major underbite, and an endearing wobbly walk. He came to us from the California Central Valley with a few other pugs after his owner went into a nursing home without a care plan. Guppy is looking for a home where he can chew on toys, lounge the day away, and follow his person like a shadow. Hes crate-trained, and while hes still working on potty training, a consistent routine will help him get back on track after being shuffled around these last few weeks. He's good with confident cats and dogs of all sizes, but we suspect he would be happy as an only-dog, too. If youre searching for a quirky, one-of-a-kind companion, Guppy just might be the pug for you! He's being fostered in Rohnert Park through The Pug Hotel.

Story
Little Bear is looking for his forever home! This very special puppy was just 24 hours old when we took him in with his siblings and their 10-month-old mom Ruby. She rejected the litter, and after a few days, he was the only puppy who survived. Bottle-fed and raised by humans from day one, Little Bear is super loving, incredibly sweet, and so beautifully balanced. He leans into his people for comfort and love, and it has shaped him into the softest, most trusting little soul. Our team is heavily invested in this puppy, and it's going to take a special adopter to allow us to say goodbye. For his first five weeks, he was the only puppy, but he found companionship with Matilda, a disabled puppy we also took in. He truly blossomed with her, learning how to play, cuddle, and just be a puppy. He also spent time with adult pugs, chasing their ankles, stealing their toys, and taking corrections well. He's currently being fostered with a human baby and child and doing really well around them. Hes litter box trained with paper pellets, in perfect health, and full of joyful puppy energy. He loves tiny soft toys, happy little hops around the house, and when hes sleepy, he melts right into you. What were looking for in his forever home: A young canine companion, an active lifestyle, and patient humans who are home often to provide consistency, socialization, and thoughtful training. This little boy deserves nothing less than the absolute best. Hell be ready to go home in mid-March with his first two vaccine sets and a microchip. Adopters must sign a neuter contract and commit to completing his puppy vaccine schedule.

Story
Captain Monocle earned his name at the shelter after having one eye removed due to an injury, but dont let that fool you. This wonderful young adult doesnt miss a beat. Hes fully potty trained, incredibly social, active, and endlessly loving. He has a playful, puppy-like spirit and loves to give gentle love bites, so in a home with young kids, hell do best with supervision and guidance to help everyone learn how to interact respectfully with a mouthy, playful pug. At the dog park, hes the life of the party, happily playing with everyone and confidently ruling the scene. He adores his toys, enjoys a good play-fight, and thrives with canine companionship. He especially loves spending time with his foster pug siblings, so a home with another dog would be ideal for him to grow and play alongside. True to his pug nature, he snores loudly, follows you from room to room, and insists on being wherever the action and attention are. Hes a bit of a digger and isnt shy about nudging his way to the front if another dog is getting pets first. He wants his share of love, too. Captain Monocle is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and currently fostered in Sacramento. Hes a big-hearted love bug, and whoever welcomes him home will be incredibly lucky.

Story
Say hello to Remy and that adorable little tongue! Its always peeking out because Remy has no teeth (more on that below), and it only adds to her charm. Remy is a four-year-old pug who came to us as an owner surrender and is now looking for her forever home. Remy is affectionate, smart, and already knows her basic commands (and some fun ones!) Shes fully potty trained and loves nothing more than being close to her people. Right now, shes a bit unsure about the changes in her life and bonds quickly, but that just means she has an incredible amount of love to give. A true velcro pug, Remy wants to be by your side and go everywhere with you. Shes an active girl who enjoys playtime and exercise, especially a good game of fetch (though shes still working on the drop it part). Remy enjoys walks, sniffing around, and soaking up the sunshine. She would do best with someone experienced in leash training, as she can be reactive to large dogs while on leash. While she generally gets along with other dogs, she does show some resource guarding, so thoughtful introductions and guidance are important. Shes been around cats and young kids, but she may thrive best in a home without them. Remy would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time to provide the consistency, reassurance, and companionship she needs right now. All of Remys teeth were removed when she was young due to some malformations, so she eats softened kibble and absolutely loves her veggies. Bonus: no dental cleanings needed! She has no health issues other than the one that was resolved with the teeth pulling. Her previous family decided to rehome her after welcoming a baby and no longer having the time she deserves. Remy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and shes currently being fostered in San Francisco. Shes ready to give her whole heart to a family who will cherish her forever.

Story
Otis came to us as a stray from a Central Valley shelter. We estimate hes about 4 years old, with a gorgeous apricot coat and a petite little frame under 15 pounds. He was treated for a respiratory infection and is now feeling great. Hes scheduled for his neuter on Monday, March 9. Otis is friendly with everyone he meets and gets along beautifully with other dogs. He responds well to training and gentle correction and is eager to please. Hes a funny, curious guy. When he discovered the dog door, he decided it was the best new game and happily bounced through it again and again. He loves hanging out with his foster siblings, testing out every dog bed in the house, and staying close, usually with at least one paw touching you. He enjoys exploring the backyard, going on walks, and chewing his favorite toys. Hes crate trained and currently working on his marking, which should improve after his neuter. Otis is such a sweet, happy little companion and will make a wonderful addition to the right home. We'll be running labwork on him in addition to a heartworm test, and he will be fully vaccinated and microchipped as well. He seems to have an old eye injury that does not impair his vision, and our vet will confirm that during his neuter!

Story
Meet Ninja! This little survivor has already proven he is tougher than his name. Ninja came to us from the shelter after being hit by a car, which left him with several broken ribs and a dislocated hip. Over the past month, he has been recovering in foster care, resting up, getting spoiled, and soaking in all the love he can. After his recent recheck, the vet gave him the green light. He is officially ready to find his forever home, and his walk gets stronger every single day. We think Ninja is about a year old. With his short legs, long body, and irresistible little face, we suspect he is a dachshund pug mix. Whatever the recipe, it turned out very cute. He is wonderful with kids and other dogs, lives for belly rubs, and does not let his healing journey slow down his happy spirit one bit. He is mostly potty trained, though like many pugs, he strongly prefers not to take bathroom breaks in the cold. If it is chilly outside, he will absolutely vote to stay cozy instead (and wont have accidents!) Ninja loves big, enthusiastic affection and wants to be right where his people are at all times. He lights up around young humans and would thrive in a home where someone is around often or excited to bring him along on daily adventures. He is deeply devoted, incredibly sweet, and so ready to trade his recovery chapter for a lifetime of love. Ninja is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Now all he needs is a family to call his own.
