Story
Mimi is an adorable Puggle with a charming personality and an independent spirit all her own. She's currently working on potty training and is crate trained, but she's the type of girl who likes to do things on Mimi time. While she may not always be the most attentive pup, Mimi enjoys being near her people and can often be found lounging on the back of the couch, quietly keeping an eye on the household. She's still adjusting to her new surroundings and learning what life as a beloved family pet is all about. One thing Mimi is very enthusiastic about? Food! She's highly motivated by people-food and has been known to climb onto chairs and even tables in search of a tasty snack. Her future family will need to help her learn appropriate boundaries and keep tempting treats out of reach. Mimi also has an adventurous side. She's frequently found checking out the front door or garage door, seemingly dreaming about her next expedition. Because of this, her family will need to be extra mindful when coming and going—if she spots an opportunity, she may try to sneak out and explore. Mimi is looking for a patient family that appreciates her independent nature while helping her continue to build good habits and settle into a routine. In return, she'll provide plenty of entertainment, companionship, and her own unique brand of affection. If you're looking for a quirky, clever Puggle with a big personality and an adventurous spirit, Mimi may be the perfect fit for your home!   Due to our participation in the Vernon Hills 4th of July Parade, there will be no adoption event on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Story
TALLYFor SEVEN WEEKS Tally has been sitting in rescue wondering why nobody has shown up for her yet… and honestly? SAME.Because this dog wakes up every morning like she just drank three energy drinks and received life-changing news.Tally approaches every single day with the enthusiasm of a kid who just found out recess got extended.Fetch? OBSESSED.Car rides? LET’S GO.Backyard zoomies? Absolutely mandatory.Personal space? She’s unfamiliar with the concept because she loves her people THAT much.At approximately 2 years old and 28 pounds, Tally is basically what would happen if pure joy somehow became a dog. She’s goofy, expressive, adventurous, wildly entertaining, and always seems genuinely thrilled to be included in whatever’s happening. And yes… we still aren’t entirely convinced she sleeps. Her foster family swears every time they check on her, those giant eyes are already open and ready for the next activity. Honestly? Respect.Tally has made HUGE progress in foster care. She’s doing great with potty training on a consistent schedule, sleeps quietly through the night in her crate, rides wonderfully in the car, and has discovered that playing fetch might actually be her life’s purpose. She’s still very much a playful, energetic dog and would thrive with someone who enjoys adventure, walks, playtime, and a dog that actually wants to participate in life WITH them. But underneath all the silly chaos?Tally is incredibly loving. She wants attention. She wants connection. She wants to be part of the family. And despite being overlooked for seven weeks now, she continues waking up every day happy, hopeful, and ready to love people anyway. 🖤And honestly? That kind of joy deserves a home.✨ Approx. 2 years old⚖️ Approx. 28 lbs🐾 Possible Pug mix📍 Located in Kewaunee, WI💲 Adoption fee: $450✔️ Spayed✔️ UTD on vaccines✔️ Microchipped✨ Apply to adopt at:www.biggiepawsrescue.orgSome dogs bring peace and quiet.Tally brings laughter, adventure, and emotional support chaos. 🐾DATCP # 494550

Story
My family experienced housing/financial difficulties. Life is not always easy… Young kids kept me busy and so did another dog. I also grew up with cats. Let me tell you something, cat food is a lot tastier than dog food. Cats are gastronomes so I joined them to enjoy the pleasure of perfect food. I’m a super sweet boy, playful and quite sociable. I am also quite smart, sit, speak, down and out….and talking about speak, I love baby talk. Are you ready for a fun conversation? I'm back online because the cats in my recent home and I didn't get along…I’m ready for my next family so come on over.

Story
Pumpkin arrives in Wisconsin on July 12th. Pumpkin is the sweetest pug in the patch! This adorable pug is about 9.5 years old. She has experience living with other dogs in her foster home. She would love to find an adopter who has experience with the pug breed due to their unique personalities and health needs. Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Story
This is a story that will tug at your heart. Hi. It’s me. Ava. Yes, I have the little squishy pug face. Yes, I am a middle aged lady. Yes, I am soft in every possible way. They found me wandering around Calumet City. Just out there. Alone. I am a tiny girl and the world is big. Bigger when you cannot see it very well. We think I am blind. Or close to it. What I know for sure is that I navigate with my heart. The shelter was not the place for a girl like me. Too loud. Too fast. Too much. The rescue stepped in because no one wanted me trying to survive like that. I am not a high-maintenance diva. I am a calm, docile, snuggly little lady. I move slowly. I listen carefully. I memorize the shape of a room. Once I learn it, I am good. I will toddle around like I own the place. What I really want is a person. Someone patient. Someone steady. Someone kind. Someone who does not mind being my eyes. I will follow your voice. I will lean into your legs. I will curl into you like I have known you forever. I am the kind of dog who bonds deep. Not flashy. Not chaotic. Just loyal. Devoted. Yours. If your home is quiet and your heart is open, I think we might fit together perfectly. I am probably fine with dogs, cats and kids, but since I want a quiet home, I am going to try to be your solo love bug for now. Is that okay? Come be my world. I promise I will make you mine. Update - 03/19/2026:She is an attention seeker. She hears a voice and she jumps up to find you. LOVES FOOD. she does not like it if you take too long to get her bowl ready. She has started doing a low grumbling bark when she thinks your taking too long. Loves to cuddle and be close to her people. Can this girl get any cuter? We can't imagine what she went through when she faced uncertainty and is blind. Our hearts broke. We had to keep her safe and give her a chance at finding a loving home. Will you foster or adopt her? Please apply. She needs your love and care. ##2666687##
