TALLY 🖤If fun had a face… it would look like this.Tally is the kind of dog that walks into a room and immediately turns the energy up—in the best way.At around 2 years old and 28 pounds, this Pug mix is full of personality, joy, and just enough chaos to keep life interesting. She’s playful, silly, and always ready for the next adventure… or at least the next snack (because yes—this girl is very food motivated 👀).Tally didn’t get much structure early on, so she’s still learning the basics—but here’s the good part: she WANTS to learn. She’s smart, eager, and already showing how quickly she picks things up when there’s consistency (and treats… definitely treats). She would thrive in a home that’s ready to give her a little guidance and a lot of love. In return? You get a dog that will make you laugh daily and keep life anything but boring. She enjoys other dogs but can come on a little strong at first—she’s just excited to make friends. A tolerant dog buddy or a home where she can be the center of attention would both work great. Cats are likely not her thing. She’s doing well with crate training (may protest briefly, then settles and sleeps through the night), loves going for walks, and is working on housebreaking. And that face? Yeah… good luck saying no to that.⸻The details:• Approx. 2 years old• ~28 lbs• Pug mix (best guess)• 📍 Kewaunee, WI• Dog friendly (best with tolerant/playful dogs) ✔️• Cats: not recommended• Kids: older, dog-savvy ✔️• Crate trained ✔️• Leash skills: learning, but loves walks• Housebreaking: in progress• UTD on vaccines ✔️• Microchipped ✔️• Spayed ✔️💰 Adoption Fee: $450⸻Tally isn’t a couch potato—she’s your hype girl, adventure buddy, and daily dose of entertainment all in one.If you’re looking for a dog with personality… you just found her.👉 Apply at: www.biggiepawsrescue.org#BiggiePaws #RescueWithoutFluffDATCP # 494550

Story
The wonderful Canine Care staff is helping me deal with the loss of my guardian and they are giving me extra loving. I lived with a cat and I also get along with dogs. I love walks, that’s the perfect way to get some fresh air, discover new smells and even bark at the wind. I’m quite affectionate so always ready to get some petting or relax on the couch with you. Nights are lonely without a family so what about me being able to sleep in my own home tonight?

Story
Combine is around 2 years old and a pug/chiweenie mix. he’s been raised in a home environment. He is neutered and crate trained. He’s very affectionate and loves to snuggle. He also has a funny little “talking” sound and comes when called, it honestly sounds like a tiny tractor 😊 He has been around other dogs but can be reactive or possessive at times (especially with toys), so he would do best with an experienced owner. He can also be sensitive around his back. He’s used to a fenced yard and does have some marking tendencies, so consistency will be important. Due to life changes, I’m looking for a loving home where he can get more attention and consistency.

Story
Meet Reese! This adorable pug was surrendered in Houston and will be traveling to Wisconsin in May. He is a quiet, snuggly fella who is good with everyone. He does have some vision issues that don't impact his functioning and has had knee surgery to help him be comfortable! He is happy through it all and now just needs an amazing home! Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Story
Daisy is living in a foster home! Complete an application on our website and email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to see if you're a match! Scroll through her pictures to see all of her cute videos! Daisy has had a long road to our adoption page, and we are so happy that she is here now! Daisy first came to our attention last winter, when a neighbor of Daisy's original owner reached out about having us take her in after her owner was no longer able to care for her. The kind neighbor was able to foster her if we would help get her medically ready for adoption, and facilitate finding her a wonderful new home. When Daisy came in for her spay surgery in January, we noticed that she was not putting weight on her right hind leg and that she reacted painfully when it was manipulated. X-rays revealed that she had a fractured and dislocated hip that would require surgery. It is likely that Daisy had been living with this injury for some time, given the degree of muscle atrophy on her right side, it was clear she had barely been using it! In February, Daisy underwent hip surgery (a Femoral Head Osteotomy), and with the help of her amazing fosters she has recovered and is ready to find her happy ending! After all of these months with Daisy, her foster family knows her very well. They said that Daisy was not housebroken when she came to them, but in a few days' time she got the routine down and even learned to go #1 and 2 on her leashed walks! Daisy has not been crated but is gated in the kitchen when her fosters are away. Daisy has been able to be left for an 8 hour workday, but she loves to be with her people so would love a home where she is not left alone full time. Daisy has been living with her family's cocker spaniel and LOVES him. It took a bit of time since Daisy was not well-socialized with other dogs when she arrived in her foster home. Now she loves to initiate play with him! Daisy's fosters do not recommend that she be in a home with little kids, because she can be mouthy and rambunctious during play. She would never try to hurt someone, but she likes to chew and use her mouth when she is excited including, sometimes, on her humans! Because Daisy lived in pain previously and has been through surgery, she also needs an adopter who understands that even though she is tiny she needs to be handled with care and not played with too rough. Daisy did not have much exposure to kind, safe people for the first year and few months of her life, but she is learning to trust people. When meeting people for the first time, she cowers and hides behind a person she knows, but will gradually get more comfortable and will carefully approach a new person, befriending them rather quickly thereafter. Daisy's foster mom writes, "Daisy is the sweetest and funniest little pug with so much personality! She loves to stand between your feet, sit or lay in your lap, bring you toys to play with her, and cuddle. Daisy loves people once she has a little time to get to know them. She tends to velcro to one person, following that person everywhere, and will voice her sadness upon separation. Daisy loves to be in your arms and involved in what you're doing, whether that be cooking, brushing your teeth or watching tv. Daisy provides so much fun and silliness - she gets the zoomies and races around so fast, doing parkour off the furniture, she army crawls, and she splashes around in the bath! She is an adorable little furry friend who needs love, play, and safety. Daisy has been through much more than any dog should ever endure, and therefore is very sensitive to yelling/scolding. She is small and fragile and deserves to be handled with gentleness always." If you are the kind and gentle home that Daisy deserves to live out her days in, please submit an application and reach out to us! Daisy's adoption fee is $375. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
