Story
Meet Benji and Bobbi. These two cuties need a place to go. Their mom is unwell and unable to properly care for them. For now, this should be considered a long-term foster situation, but it may result in an ultimate rehoming. Please step up if you can help. They are great buddies, so we are hoping to keep them together. Benjamin (Benji) is a male 13-year-old Puggle who is very young at heart. He’s a mellow dude who loves to cuddle and snuggle. He has a wonderful personality and is very friendly with people. Cats are an unknown. Benji is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He sometimes suffers from urinary issues, but diapers do the trick. Bobbi is a female 11-year-old pug blend. She is on the quiet side and is a bit shy until she knows you. Bobbi is easy-going and a pleasure to be around. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you can help keep these two cutie pies together and out of the shelter, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or call the number listed below. Story
Stunning Bruno is looking for a loving home! What makes him so special—besides his cute looks—is that he is very loving and playful. He loves going for walks and exploring the world around him. You can take him everywhere—pet stores, parks, and department stores. He is a great companion! He gets along well with other dogs and likes to play with them. He is a very happy boy who loves giving and receiving love and affection. Bruno is an active dog who loves running around chasing a ball or playing tug-of-war. His best home would have a fenced-in yard with another dog to play with. He can also be in the city as he is a confident dog and loves going for walks. Older, respectful kids would be good, but he can be a little rough with younger kids. He is 2 years old, house trained, up-to-date on all vaccinations, sterilized, microchipped, 4dx tested: negative for heart worm, currently on flea/tick/heart worm prevention and dewormed. Bruno has stunning good looks and a gentle and sweet nature, and he learns quickly with a kind word and some treats. He is ready to find his own person! Interested in this sweet love bug? Story
Howdy folks, my name is Rudy, and I was one of 13 dogs and puppies living in a San Antonio, Texas home when our owner passed away. Her grown daughter was surprised to find us all and reached out to 4 Little Paws Rescue for help, and they did! Fast forward a bit of time, and I was quickly adopted, moved to Connecticut, was very much loved and cared for, but unfortunately, I am not cut out for big city life with all the cars, noise, and chaos, so I am looking for a new forever home. I am a handsome Pug/Beagle/Chihuahua mix, about 2.5 years old, weigh 22 lbs, and I’m a lover boy. If I can climb into your lap or snuggle beside you, I will kiss you to my heart's content! I’m sweet and friendly, a bit shy when I meet new people, and friendly with other dogs, but can be choosy with my doggy playmates. I’m playful and happy, and I enjoy having some doggy toys to play with and some bully sticks to hide for future fun chewing time. I’m well-behaved, only bark to alert, and I am housetrained. I’m just a very nice dog with a loving nature. Inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Ted - 6 years, 18lbs, Pug/Chi Mix, Neutered  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60  minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Puerto Rico or Southern California. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
