Hello everyone! I’m Piper. A pretty little 2-year-old, 20 lb Pug mix ready for a chance to live a much better life as a beloved pet instead of a breeding mama. I was owned by backyard pug-mix breeders, and after a fire burned down their trailer, the neighbors helped the survivors by calling dog rescues. I was saved by 4 Little Paws Rescue, along with another pregnant mama now named Penny, and just in the nick of time! The very next day in our new foster home in Von Ormy, Texas, I delivered a single puppy on April 13th, and two days later, Penny delivered 6 puppies. It was a puppy palooza, and now that they are all weaned and getting ready for adoption, so am I. I’m now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date with flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Yep, I’m ready to GO!! My foster mom wants you to know that I am a very sweet and happy girl. I will probably be shy when we first meet, but I warm up quickly, and even when I’m scared, I’ll still let you pick me up. Almost right away, my joy for life and sparkling personality resumes, and I’m running zoomies, playing with dog friends, enjoying doggy toys, and ripping the stuffing out of soft toys… so save your money and don't buy me any soft toys! I am affectionate, not kissy, but I LOVE to cuddle, and when I see you plop down on the couch, I’m right there beside you. I am also well behaved, housebroken, know how to use a doggy door, and I only bark when I need to alert you. I enjoy going for walks, and I love a ride in the car, so feel free to take me along on road trips. We got our sweet pug, Candy, from a breeder in pennsylvania. She has been with our family since she was a puppy. Recently our living situation has changed and unfortunately, Candy is stuck in the middle. I want to give her to someone who has the time and is able to give her the love she deserves. Candy is an older dog now, she is 11. She needs patience. She is almost completely blind i believe so accommodations must be met. New environments are hard for her to adjust. Candy is very sweet, she loves being pet. She never bites. She would best get along with dogs her own age, she’s okay with younger dogs but she is more low energy. Candy loves to sleep and she loves human food. She loves being snuggled up and loves comfy areas. Candy will always be close by if she feels comfortable around you, she will follow you all around the house.
