Greetings from Connecticut! My name is Dre and I’m a handsome little 3-year-old, 19 lb Pug who was found wandering alone in San Antonio Texas near a popular veterinary clinic. A very nice lady found me with no chip or identification and when nobody claimed me, she became my foster mom. Once I was neutered, vaccinated, and chipped, I left Texas behind, so now I'm ready to be adopted! My foster mom says I’m all pug, sweet, and happy with lots of energy and enthusiasm for running and playing chase, playing with the kiddos, and just having fun being me! I get along great with everyone I meet, dogs, cats, kids, and I’m uber affectionate, love pets and tummy rubs, snuggling beside you, and sharing kisses galore. I love walks and car rides and I am housebroken and just learned how to use a doggy door. I only bark to alert but it's a goofy sound when you hear it, LOL! I’m loyal, well-behaved, social, loving, fun, and playful, I’m the full Pug package and I’m ready to meet you! Tiki is fully potty trained, crate trained, and a super fast learner who wants a hello from everyone she meets on the street. Tiki loves giving kisses and is always ready for a snuggle. She’s great with cats and dogs. Tiki would benefit from basic training and structure, but her eagerness to learn will make it a rewarding journey. BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup. MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Leash Manners?Getting the Hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in its life but he/she is figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction. Okay in the city?Yes -- Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, they may as well have been born here.Jumping on People to Say Hi?High – Very excited to greet everyone and has no idea how to do so politely. Jumps up on most strangers or other dogs that go by. In puppy phase or wasn’t trained as a young adult. Separation Anxiety?Low – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or do anything shitty when you leave the apartment or house. Crate training?Yep/mostly – Seems comfortable in the crate, may whine a little at first but settles pretty quickly. We use the crate when we leave the pup alone and/or at night. Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives. Yin Yang is still very young - we know his real birthday is November 29, 2023 - so he shall soon turn the big ONE! We know his birthday because he was an owner surrender, as he was the result of an accidental litter. He is only 11 lbs today and will likely not grow much bigger.
