Story

Rocco is a sweet, affectionate boy with a calm, easygoing personality. He enjoys exploring the yard, spending time with his people, and is happiest when he's getting cuddles. While he enjoys playing, he's more of a relaxed 'trot beside you' kind of dog than an all-day athlete. He knows 'sit,' is learning through positive reinforcement, and is easier to walk on leash. Rocco is also alert and will let you know when something catches his attention. After being rescued as a stray, Rocco has blossomed into a loving companion and is ready to find a family that will include him in all of life's adventures.Rocco has not been exposed to cats or children, so we don't yet know how he would do with them.Ideal Home: A loving family looking for a stable routine, affectionate companion who will provide plenty or exercise.October 5, 2026, 6:12 pm

Story

Lemon belonged to a coworker who dumped her after adopting her as a puppy and having her for 4 years… he dumped her at the shelter where she stopped eating.. drinking.. urinating and walking.. she wouldn’t even interact with volunteers.. Lemon was said to have been going after the families female dog only after being starved for 6 days by a neighbor who was supposed to be watching her and the families 3 other dogs… Lemon was so severely shut down she was scheduled for euthanasia so I went and picked her up. The rescue who had originally backed her abandon her with me claiming they had no money.. Lemon was severely ill when I got her and required almost 1k In medical care I provided out of pocket. I am currently fundraising for lemon to receive training for her fear and inability to trust people.. she is so loving when she knows you.. quiet.. silly.. potty trained.. leash trained and crated trained.. she needs an experienced home with no animals or small children.

Story

Max is 4 years old. He is a Rhodesian ridgeback mix who has high energy and loves to go running. He loves to explore off leash when hiking. He does learn new things if you train him, such as shaking paws or catching snacks. He is actually a great watch/alert dog. All bark no bite. Strangers are scared of him when they see him barking but he has never harmed anyone if you are looking for that type of security. He is sweet and needs someone that can give him more time and energy (something we ended up not having eventually). He just wants to play and needs someone that can give him at attention.

Story

COURTESY POST: “LEMON”... Please read entire description: Lemon is looking for the person who will finally not give up on her. Lemon has spent much of her life being failed by the people who were supposed to love and protect her. When she began showing behavioral issues, instead of seeking training or support, her owners surrendered her to the shelter knowing she would likely not be adopted and end up euthanized. By the time her foster mom saw her in the pound, Lemon had completely shut down. She hid behind the wall of her kennel trembling, refusing to eat, drink, or even look at the people walking past her. With every visit, she seemed to lose a little more hope. But underneath all that fear was still a sweet dog quietly begging for someone to see her. Her foster mom couldn’t leave her behind. So, with no real plan except knowing Lemon deserved a chance, she brought her home. Lemon has slowly started learning what safety, patience, and kindness feel like again. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than snuggling close to her person. She is quiet, mellow, potty trained, leash trained, crate trained, and honestly one of the easiest dogs to have around the house. She rarely barks, enjoys her walks, and is happiest simply relaxing near the people she feels safe with. She is uncomfortable around small children, so an adult-only home or one with older, respectful teens would be ideal. Lemon does not need a perfect home. She needs a patient one. A calm, understanding person who realizes that not every dog wants a busy social life, crowded outings, or dog parks… and that’s perfectly okay! Lemon simply wants to feel safe, loved, and secure. Since entering foster care, Lemon has received veterinary treatment for a severe UTI and painful sores, and she is now healthy, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. Lemon is about 4 years old and the perfect mystery mix (though we suspect she may have some Rhodesian Ridgeback in her mix?) She previously lived with other dogs, but after an incident years ago while the family was away on vacation, she began struggling with female dogs and developed resource guarding behaviors that were never properly addressed. Because of this, Lemon would do best as the only pet in the home. The person willing to give Lemon the chance she deserves will gain a deeply loyal companion who has so much love left to give. Her foster mom loves this girl dearly and is committed to helping ensure her next home is truly forever. Continued support and even free dog sitting will always be available for Lemon’s future family. While Lemon is not a SABW Rescue dog, we are doing our best to help find her the loving home she deserves. If you think you may be the right fit for Lemon, lovingly nicknamed Lemmy Lou, please reach out. Lemon is fostered in Riverside, CA. Adoption fee will be sponsored for the right person willing to take a chance on Lemon. ***********TEXT FOSTER MOM, NICOLE AT 951-348-1731*************** *Spayed *Vaccinated *Microchipped *Housetrained *Lifetime FREE Dogsitting for Adopter *Sponsored Adoption Fee *Adult only home please, no kids, or canines
