We pulled this boy off the table of death with just hours to spare as we were told he's the bestest boy ! And he truly is. Just because he's not a doodle or a fluffy or a scruffy or a puppy, doesn't mean he had to die. We know he is special. Harpo is 1.5 yrs old and a friendly boy. At 58lbs and with such beautiful coloring, he's lucky to breathe fresh air thanks to Hero ! He is people & dog friendly and wants to be someone's loyal companion. He will be an even luckier pup if YOU are his forever home. Come out and meet Harpo - one of the lucky ones. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. We love Riley. She is very smart and loving. Riley was adopted from a shelter in Mississippi during covid lock down. She is trained and very playful. My family is living in transitional housing and cannot afford to give Riley the space and home she needs at this time.

She does well with kids, cats, chickens, and (of course) dogs. She doesn't chase cats or chickens. She is house trained and doesn't chew things up. When first meeting people, she is a little skittish. It is important to let her set the pace. This is lovely Luna. Luna was a stray who was picked up a few months ago. She is very sweet, kind, cuddly. She spent about three months in a home with children, did great with them and is now in a home with another dog; whom she also does really well with. She is very much a velcro dog.. and experiences some separation anxiety. She is around 6 months old. (everything being a guesstimate given she was a stray) She is crate trained and house trained. We are hoping to find her forever home, soon. Unfortunately my boyfriend and I do not have the capacity to give her what she needs as a puppy and in a home. She would do great in a home with kids or other animals.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Do Not Apply for a pet with PENDING in the name bar.  They have been matched with a home, but not adopted yet. Ella is a female Black Mouth Cur dog.  She was abandoned at a home when the family was evicted.  She is in a local shelter and running out of time.   NO SMALL DOGS OR CATS. NO SMALL CHILDREN>   Adoption fee is $250 An Application must be submitted to be considered to adopt.     It is located under the FORM/APPLICATION Tab on our website www.eastcoasthumanesociety.com   There is a $20 suggested donation to submit and expedite an application.  Otherwise, application  Processing time can run 10 to 15 business days.     We do not do first applied, but best match for each individual animal.   Adoption fees are Money Order or Cash only. Please check with your Building Manager or HOA for breed, weight restrictions.  We do check. All puppies and adult dogs have been micro-chipped, vaccinated,  and treated for;  fleas, ticks, worms and parasites, additional treatments may be needed. Our puppies 7 months and older as well as our adult dogs will additionally have been heart-worm tested and neutered. Our pets are cared for in loving foster homes, most are in the Atlanta Metro Georgia area. We do not have a facility, but will schedule a place and time for adoptions.     We are not available by phone until you have an approved application to adopt. We are all volunteers  and time is very limited.   Please check our Facebook page on Friday to make sure we are having an Event. We do NOT operate a public facility for you to visit.  Transportation NORTHEAST is available for $200 additional fee..
