Story
Hello, my name is Cannoli and I would love to be your one and only!!  I am originally from Alabama and I am a 6-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback – we were originally bred in Southern Africa for tracking lions but now I am in Minnesota, and I am looking for my forever home! I am getting the hang of going potty outside but every now and then I have an accident, but I should be a pro in no time.  I am not very loud and I do not bark a lot. I do good in the kennel even though it is not my favorite place, but that is where I spend my time during the day when my foster family is away at work and school.  I LOVE other dogs and haven’t met one yet that I didn’t like!  I am a happy puppy that loves to play with my favorite toy, which is a ball on a rope – I have had it for 2 months and haven’t even chewed it up!  I love doing zoomies in the backyard and going for walks!  I already know commands like sit and stay – my foster family is also teaching me sign language which I am picking up on fast! I have been around kids and other dogs, and I get along with both – not sure about cats, but I am sure I would love to play with them too.  I have a lot of puppy energy but once I settle down, I love to cuddle next to my human, hopefully I will be cuddling next to you soon! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $625.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 22, 2026, 5:47 am

Story
Meet Luna! Luna is an absolutely wonderful dog who is sure to make a fantastic addition to a lucky family. She is very well-trained, housebroken, and has had no accidents in her foster home. Luna enjoys having free reign of the house and has proven herself to be a respectful house guest, never getting into things she shouldn't. While she loves spending time with her people, Luna is also comfortable entertaining herself and enjoys relaxing in her kennel for naps and bedtime. In fact, her kennel is one of her favorite places to sleep—even with the door left open! That said, she won't turn down an invitation to snuggle up in bed with her favorite human, either. Luna can be a little skeptical when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly. Give her about ten minutes, and you'll see her sweet personality shine through.

Story
Meet Isekai: The Fashion-Forward Toy Surgeon! If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate sidekick who will make you her entire world, look no further than Isekai. Named after a classic anime trope, Isekai truly left behind the troubles of her past to cross over into a brand-new life—and she is ready to be the hero of your story. 🐾 The Isekai Lifestyle: Zoomies, Cuddles, & Fashion Isekai is a happy, resilient girl whose spirit never dampened, no matter what life threw at her. Once she burns off her happy energy with a few legendary yard zoomies, she transforms into the ultimate velcro dog. She wants nothing more than to curl up right next to you (or directly on top of you!) for a long nap. 🧸 Toy Collector Extraordinaire: Her favorite hobby is surgically removing squeakers from plush toys. She is an expert craftsman, and you will quickly become a regular at the pet store for replacement stuffies. 👑 Little Princess Energy: Because she has naturally short, sensitive skin, Isekai loves rocking sweatshirts, cozy pajamas, and a stylish rotation of collars. Fashion and comfort go paw in paw. 💕 Affectionate Cuddle Bug: She literally jumps for joy when she's excited (though she's working hard on her manners!) and will happily devote herself to anyone willing to provide quality booty scratches. 🩺 Health Update: Thriving & Resilient! When Isekai first came into rescue, her skin was in rough shape from long-ignored infections. But look at her now! Thanks to an amazing vet team, her hair has completely grown back thicker than anyone ever imagined, she just completed her first normal shed cycle, and she is officially off prescription food. Her medical routine is now simple and easy to manage: 🍗 Snack Connoisseur: A straightforward, high-quality limited-ingredient food keeps her skin healthy and happy. 🛁 Spa Day Enthusiast: A few evening medications and a weekly bath are all she needs—and she absolutely loves bath time. 🏡 Loves Having a Safe Space: Her crate is her personal sanctuary where she can relax, eat her meals, and feel secure. 🏡 Her Perfect Forever Home Isekai is incredibly loving and has a heart of gold. To help her live her very best life, her ideal home looks like this: 💖 Full of Love, Low on Drama: Isekai would like to be your one and only dog. She has so much love to give and wants to keep it all for her people. 🐱 Cat-Friendly & 👧 Kid-Friendly: While she prefers to be the only pup, she's happy to share her kingdom with cats and respectful children. Isekai has spent the last few months healing, glowing up, and learning what it means to be cherished. Now, all she needs is you. -------------------------------- Isekai has atopic dermatitis, a genetic immune system abnormality that causes a defective skin barrier, skin and ear infections, itchiness, and sensitivity to allergens. There is no cure for atopic dermatitis, management is lifelong. Flare ups are common and treatments may need to be adjusted. Right now, she is receiving a combination of a shampoo and medications to help manage her symptoms.

Hey everyone, meet JoJo! Do you love snacks? Then look no further, because this girl right here, was meant for you. Breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, mid-afternoon, dinner, midnight snacks are always welcome. This sweet girl has been in a loving home but due to a loss in the family and change in living circumstances, Miss JoJo finds herself looking for another one. She has not been around cats of small children, but has a naturally sweet disposition and gentle temperament. As a predominantly inside dog, JoJo is house trained but is used to spending time outside in a fenced yard. She has a playful personality and has played well with the other small dog that has lived with her. Please consider giving Miss JoJo a forever home to live out the best years of her life. If this sounds like the pup for you, please complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. Story
Maryann needs a hero. Growing up in rescue is not living her "best life". She has not had it easy. She was adopted as a puppy, but when her dad got a new girlfriend, he decided that he couldn't be bothered with his dogs and so after a year, Maryann ended up back at the rescue. Now, she is hopeful that someone will see her sweet nature and beautiful colors and make her their newest family member. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, house trained and ready to be adopted. All she needs now is a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. She is in TN but one of our donors has sponsored her so the cost of transport to your area is included in her fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Cheeto Dust is a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pit Bull mix with a joyful spirit, a whole lot of wiggle, and an endless supply of love. This affectionate, goofy pup brings sunshine into every room — when he gets excited, his whole body wiggles, and it’s impossible not to smile. He absolutely loves to snuggle and is happiest curled up close with his people after a day of play. Cheeto is a smart, eager-to-please boy who already knows commands like sit, down, and go potty. He’s potty trained to go outside and does very well on a routine, though he may have occasional accidents in a few familiar spots as he continues to learn. He’s crate trained, sleeps through the night, and thrives with consistency and continued guidance. During the day, Cheeto is playful, curious, and full of energy. He loves balls, squeaky toys, and any kind of playtime — especially with other dogs off leash, where he truly shines. He does great in the yard, but his adventurous side means he can climb shorter fences or baby gates and will take the opportunity to explore if a gate is left open, so a secure setup and attentive supervision are important. On leash, Cheeto is still learning his manners. He can pull and may bark or growl at other dogs, so continued leash work and obedience training will be key to helping him feel more confident and relaxed. With proper introductions and the right match, he enjoys canine companionship, especially with playful, easygoing dogs. Cheeto is currently living with children and has done best with older kids. While he is very loving, he can become overstimulated and has nipped at younger children to get attention. He also has natural herding tendencies and a high energy level, so he would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy kids who understand boundaries and can interact with him appropriately. He’s a funny, spirited pup who likes to “help” around the house — especially when it comes to vacuuming and sweeping (his version of helping involves barking at the vacuum and broom). Cheeto is friendly with adults, rides well in the car, and forms strong, affectionate bonds with his people. Cheeto Dust is a loving, energetic, and intelligent pup who will thrive with a family committed to continuing his training and giving him the structure he needs. With patience, consistency, and plenty of play and snuggles, he’s going to grow into an incredible companion. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
