Meet Rico! Rico is a sweet, loving Rhodesian Ridgeback looking for his forever home. He is about 2 1/2 years old and I adopted him from BARC Shelter in Houston about two years ago and has been the best companion. Unfortunately, since I’ll be leaving for the Army soon, I want to make sure he finds a safe, caring home. Rico is gentle, affectionate, and loyal. He’s fully potty trained and knows basic commands like sit, lay down, shake, and go to his crate. He enjoys walks, playtime, and relaxing by your side. He can be a little anxious at times, but with patience and love, he opens up quickly and shows just how kind-hearted he is. We found Hoagie wandering around when he was a puppy. He was covered in fleas, had a swollen leg, and had a small collar on that needed to be cut off. After unsuccessfully finding his home we decided to keep him. We’ve had Hoagie for about 4 years but our senior rescue has decided he no longer likes him and tries to attack him. We now have to keep them separated. Hoagie is extremely smart and easily trained. He’s the most obedient dog we’ve ever had. He loves to play with our other dog and needs a yard to run around. He absolutely loves playing outside. He is also a huge snuggle bug. He does great with our 1 year old daughter. He is not up to date on his shots or neutered, but we will take care of this before placing him in a new home. It breaks our hearts to have to find Hoagie a new home, but we’re hoping to find the perfect family for him.
