Story
Welcome Salem to CCPAL Rescue. Salem is a 4-year old Rottie/Boxer mix that weighs about 65 pounds. She is beautiful gun metal grey with a brownish tint. She bonds very deeply like the Rottie to her person. She gets along with other dogs but she wants to be the only one for her particular person. She is on the quiet side as far as barking goes. She is lower on the shedding scale and has a nice soft coat. She has an adorable underbite. I think she would like to be a home body type dog and be around her person a lot. She would love her human to work from home or only work some days. She kennels up just by asking her to kennel up. She is very smart and takes direction well. She is a little shy in new settings and not all that interested in meeting new people. If you like the Rottie personality or the Dachshund personality you will like this dog. It is enjoyable to have a dog that is super loyal and not everybody’s dog. She would be great for an older single person or older couple that want a nice companion around the house. She would also be good for someone that is younger but more of a homebody time as well. She is super beautiful and is a head turner in looks. She is spayed, vaccinated and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Rocky to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Rottweiler or Shepherd/Bulldog is our best guess on breed. He has a beautiful grey coat that is shorter and he is athletic and friendly. He weighs about 50 pounds and is a good weight and is about 1.5 years old. He has new adult teeth that are still nice and clean. He would be perfect for a runner, walker, jogger, hiker or athletic and outdoorsy family. He loves all people so you won’t have any trouble with him meeting new people. He would love to join a family on all their adventures. He is good in his kennel and goes potty in his outdoor space. He hasn’t been reactive when we had him on leash. He is a head turner for sure. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered and ready for his forever home in a couple of weeks. He is outgoing and would be fine with a family that has children. We would like children to be 8 or older. Rocky is not a big shedding dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Story
Some puppies arrive with a whole lot of potential and a whole lot of work ahead of them. Iggie somehow seems to have gotten a head start on both the growing up and the good stuff. At only about four months old, she already knows how to settle into home life, sleep quietly through the night, ride along in the car, walk on a leash and sit at your feet looking up at you with love and attentiveness. She's still wonderfully puppy, ball-chasing, toy-loving, pool-splashing and playful, but there is a calmness underneath it all that makes Iggie feel like a particularly easy dog to fall for. Go watch Iggie on YouTube to see all her magic in motion. https://youtu.be/W8pKBsyuzTg Iggie is being raised in a foster home, and her foster has clearly been doing right by this girl. She lives with another dog and cats, has children who regularly come over to visit and has been given the kind of early socialization that can make such a difference for a young puppy. She has learned that home is a place to relax, people are worth listening to and everyday life is fun! Her foster shared that Iggie is already house and crate trained and sleeps quietly in her crate overnight. She's great in the car, has her basic leash skills down and already knows sit. Hand her a treat and she takes it gently. Ask for her attention and those little brown eyebrows turn your direction. For such a young dog, she has a surprisingly thoughtful way of interacting with people. She's affectionate and connected without needing to be all over you every second, and that lovely balance is a big part of what makes her so easy to enjoy. But please don't mistake “calm and attentive” for boring. Iggie has plenty of puppy tucked inside that beautiful black coat. She loves toys and especially loves a ball, whether she's fetching it or inventing her own game. She also enjoys what her foster lovingly refers to as “swimming.” In Iggie's case, that currently means happily getting into the pool and enjoying herself while actual swimming technique remains a work in progress. We respect the confidence. And yes, she really is that pretty. Iggie has a thick black coat with warm brown paws, markings and two perfect little brown eyebrows that give her face so much expression. We believe she is likely a hound mix, possibly with some Doberman or Rottweiler in the family tree, but rescue rules apply and breed is always our best guess. Whatever is in there, we suspect she's going to grow into one gorgeously striking dog. The best part about Iggie is how easy it is to imagine the life ahead of her. Weekend walks and car rides. A basket of toys she slowly distributes across your entire house. Fetch in the backyard. Kids coming through the door. Another dog nearby. A quiet night tucked into her crate after a day spent being part of the family. She already has so many of the building blocks people hope for in a puppy, and she has the sweet, steady temperament to keep building on them. Iggie isn't finished growing up, of course. Her future family still gets all the fun, work and ridiculousness of puppyhood. But you'll also get to begin with a girl who has already learned an impressive amount about being somebody's dream dog. And after spending time with her, it's hard not to think she's going to be a very, very good one. If you can already picture Iggie growing up beside you, head to her adoption link and submit an application. Story
Hello, I'm Rumble! I'm a big lovable Rottie with a heart of gold for people!! According to my foster mom, I've got the heart of a big, playful puppy, and sometimes I forget that I'm a larger dog when I'm having a blast. So, if you have smaller dogs at home, we might just need a little adjustment period to get along famously. But here's the thing—when it comes to cats, I'm not the most purr-fect playmate, so if you've got a furry feline in the house, I might not be the ideal match. Now, if you believe you can provide me with a loving and caring home, please don't hesitate to apply today. And yes, I may be soaking up the Texas sunshine right now, but the good news is that I'm ready to hit the road and make my way to your heart and home. All it takes is a $230 transport fee, and I'll be on my way to becoming your loyal companion.Let's make it happen! Apply today, and let's embark on a journey of love and companionship together. Thank you for considering me for adoption! Online Application: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $300).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
From the moment you meet Dinah, there is a sense of comfort and calm there. It’s almost like she makes you slow down and smile without even realizing it. If her soft eyes don’t pull you in the way she gently melts at your feet for a moment of love will absolutely get you. At a little over a year old and 63 lbs, this beautiful Rottweiler/Shepherd mix (best guess, of course) is still discovering the world, and every day her playful, affectionate personality grows. What stands out most about Dinah is how deeply loving she is. She absolutely adores gentle affection, melts for belly rubs, and forms the kind of quiet, meaningful connection that feels incredibly special. Go watch Dinah on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this belly-rub loving shy girl. https://youtu.be/i4HWTc6GtXs Dinah is being fostered in a loving home with other dogs and while she can initially come across as shy in new environments, her foster shared that underneath that passing feeling is a playful, affectionate girl who truly loves her people. We spent an afternoon with her outside of her foster home and she was just a whole bunch of gentle sweetness. We let her take it slow and it didnt take much time at all before she was meeting new people, rolingl over to show her belly, and gently taking treats. The cutest thing was when the belly rubs stopped, Dinah would quietly scoot herself back closer asking for more. It was one of those tiny little moments that says everything about who she really is. Dinah is very people-oriented despite her shyness. More than anything, she seems to crave soft affection, patient reassurance, and gentle connection. She takes comfort in calm voices and kind handling and really appears to blossom when she realizes nobody expects anything from her except simply being herself. She has a wonderfully soft mouth when taking treats and overall comes across as an incredibly sensitive, thoughtful dog. With other dogs, Dinah initially needed a little time to settle in and trust the situation, but once she relaxed she showed very appropriate social skills and gentle communication. Pushy dogs can overwhelm her, though she gives fair, controlled corrections when needed and then quickly moves on. She would likely do best with respectful, socially savvy dogs, especially calm or playful medium to large dogs who won’t crowd her. Her foster shared that once comfortable at home she actually enjoys rough-and-tumble style play, which feels very believable for a young dog finally letting her guard down. Dinah is not recommended for homes with cats or very small dogs, and because fast movement and busy environments initially can make her feel overwhelmed, we think she would likely thrive most in a calmer home with older kids or adults who understand shy dogs and the beauty of letting trust build slowly. The thing about Dinah is that she is not difficult, dramatic, or demanding. She is simply sensitive. She notices tone, energy, movement, and intention in a deep way. Dogs like Dinah often form incredibly strong bonds with the people who give them patience and safety because once they trust you, they truly love with their whole heart. If you are looking for a soft soul who just wants gentle affection, belly rubs, and someone to love deeply, Dinah is ready and waiting for you. Apply today to adopt Dinah! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69c6e2744bff975178098f6f Questions? Meet Baxter! Baxter was surrendered and asked to be picked up by ACO when he was just 5 months old. He just turned 2 years old this month. His family said they no longer wanted him because “he wasn’t getting big enough” He’s been with his foster ever since, no fault of his own as a different rescue committed to him and left him behind. Baxter is simply the best and is so deserving of a family of his own. He is high energy and loves to play, he will do great with a family that has older kids. He’s is always ready for an adventure or a hike and then a snuggle session. He LOVES toys especially his jumbler ball. Just make sure to always keep some backups on hand in case needed 😅 he loves running and jumping in the air. Baxter will keep you laughing with his goody antics and joy of everything! He is great with dogs and just wants to play. Who can resist a happy holiday adventurous loving boy like Baxter?! Baxter is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
