Story
We purchased Bear from a AKC registered breeder around the time covid happened at 6 weeks old. Bear is now a happy, energetic 6 year that does what any Rottweiler does, protect. This was not an easy decision to decide to rehome Bear as we have had him since being a pup, but with crazy work schedules and a new baby coming we can no longer give Bear the life he deserves. He is great with kids as he has been around my son, niece, and nephew his entire life. We sometimes call Bear CareBear as he is a gentle giant who thinks he can be a lap dog. Bear is up to date with all of his shots and has been boarded during vacations, and also has been neutered.

Story
I'm a sweet, non-alpha girl. I just want to be loved. I showed up at a site with a nail in my foot.I was hungry and lonely. Now I'm loved and coming out of my shell.I am very shy but sweet. I need some guidance on how to be a dog because nobody ever taught me what a toy is for! I am curious but still shy when I walk by the other dogs. I like to be outside in the yard sunning more than anything!I am heartworm positive but my remaining treatment is covered by NCHS if I get adopted.

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Brahms is a handsome 7-year-old Rottweiler. His favorite activities include fetch, wrestling, and running on wooded trails. He is good with other dogs outside and inside, loves to chase and romp with his friends but also enjoys long hours of sunbathing. He also gets along with people and gravitates towards confident and respectful handlers. True to his breed, it takes him time to trust strangers but once you have established a relationship, he is your best friend.    Brahms already knows basic commands- sit, down, stay, wait (for food and at doors), focus, here, crate and touch. He also has excellent recall. He is a loud player and grumbles when he is happy and getting butt rubs.    Brahams would do great in a home with experience with Rotties and large strong-willed breeds. He will need daily exercise in the form of walks or play time in the yard. He is crate trained, and part of his routine is that he stays in there when no one is home or when strangers come into the house. We have not noticed any resource guarding with toys or food, but he does prefer to be left alone during mealtimes. He plays fetch very politely and returns the ball as further evidence of no resource guarding.   Brahms had to overcome a traumatic past. He was found living on a balcony of an abandoned property when animal control finally seized him. His former owner had a lengthy record of neglect and cruelty. For two years, neighbors would hear Brahms barking through the night pushing an empty bowl. To make things worse, Brahms remained in the shelter system on court hold for two more years until he was released earlier this year.    Brahms is ready to start a new chapter in life as a cherished pet in a loving home. He is ready to be your loyal companion in return.    Reels:    https://www.instagram.com/reel/DI4R4YEPZSQ/?igsh=MWlyaG91ajB0NTJidg%3D%3D   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIzMC00ubrg/?igsh=MTlzbW1hMTc0NjE1YQ%3D%3D     Age: 7 years Weight: 90 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs with proper introduction.  No experience with kids or cats. Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, obedience-trained Vetting: neuter on 5/5/25, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention Email for questions:    sonali@doggieharmony.org To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.March 7, 2026, 5:36 pm
