Story
OK, first — yes, Muggs is a girl dog! And, no, we don’t know how a girl dog got that name. We do know that Muggs is a smart, loving companion whose love language is looking out for her peeps.  As a Rottweiler mix, Muggs is a protector by nature. Back in the day, the Roman legions used Rottweilers to guard their camps. That badass heritage has, shall we say, pros and cons in this modern age. Muggs, for example, won’t do well in a house with young kids she feels compelled to protect from all evildoers – like, you know, the Amazon guy or your next-door neighbor. This sweetheart’s ideal forever home will have a peaceful, predictable rhythm with familiar visitors, minimal visits from strangers, and perhaps another dog. Muggs will be a delightful companion for someone who can provide this environment. Age: 3 years Weight: 70 lbs Temperament: Good with dogs, can be reactive to strangers, particularly men.     Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines.   Training: Crate-trained, house trained, knows commands. To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.January 30, 2025, 1:12 pm

Colton has charmed just about everyone on the PAWS team, staffers and volunteer dog walkers alike, since his arrival at our shelter. He was helped by a Good Samaritan and is now thriving in our program. Colton is a big, beautiful boy, and he seems to be great with people. He’s about 1.5 years old and is just a really wonderful, social, warm dog who loves to play and hang out with you. We have not had a chance to evaluate him one-on-one with other dogs but hope to do that soon.

Story
Meet Frankie! Frankie is a female Rottweiler around 2 yrs . I walked outside one day to find this sweet girl huddled up in my yard just as scared as can be. I think she was abandoned. She had no ID, I posted her on by social media, and even went through the county foster to adopt program without anyone claiming her. I decided to foster her until I could find her a home she deserves. I truly feel it would be in her benefit to be in a situation with someone that is capable of giving her all the love and attention she deserves. I simply am in a different stage in life to where I can’t keep her. Frankie is as sweet as can be. All she wants is to be loved on, and needs an owner that has the time to spend with her, work with her, and be active with her. The ideal owner would be retired or work from home, has plenty of space for her. She is fully grown at 65lb and friendly with everything. She is in desperate need of her forever home!

Story
This is Gotti, he’s a 2-year-old Rottweiler and honestly one of the best dogs I’ve ever had. He’s been professionally trained, listens well, super obedient, and just loves to play and be around people. This decision hasn’t been easy, but with my schedule being so hectic, I’m not able to give him the time and attention he deserves. He’s a good boy who needs a home where he can be loved on, played with, and really be part of someone’s life every day. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and well-mannered pup to add to your family, Gotti might be the one. I just want him to go to someone who will truly care for him like he deserves.
