Story
Susan is a 5 year old female Rottweiler mix, who is sure to win your heart with her lovable ways. She enjoys giving affection as much as she enjoys receiving it. Chest rubs are Susan’s favorite, and she looks up at you with sweet puppy-dog eyes while getting them .. her adoring gaze is precious! She is a medium sized dog of about 45-50 lbs, so smaller than her breed, but still has the beautiful markings of a Rottweiler. Plus she has a cute nubby tail that wags to show her pleasure whenever seeing her favorite humans. Susan seems to be dog-friendly, and also has shown no reaction to cats when meeting them. A volunteer recently took Susan on a Day Out and described Susan as a “total sweetheart” who is a joy to walk or go hiking on trails, plus Susan loves soaking up all the cuddles she can get. Overall, Susan is a truly beautiful well-mannered girl with a gentle soul and a big heart. And who doesn’t need a companion like that in their life? Meet Susan today and see if she is the perfect companion for you!  The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Story
OK, first — yes, Muggs is a girl dog! And, no, we don’t know how a girl dog got that name. We do know that Muggs is a smart, loving companion whose love language is looking out for her peeps.  As a Rottweiler mix, Muggs is a protector by nature. Back in the day, the Roman legions used Rottweilers to guard their camps. That badass heritage has, shall we say, pros and cons in this modern age. Muggs, for example, won’t do well in a house with young kids she feels compelled to protect from all evildoers – like, you know, the Amazon guy or your next-door neighbor. This sweetheart’s ideal forever home will have a peaceful, predictable rhythm with familiar visitors, minimal visits from strangers, and perhaps another dog. Muggs will be a delightful companion for someone who can provide this environment. Age: 3 years Weight: 70 lbs Temperament: Good with dogs, can be reactive to strangers, particularly men.     Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines.   Training: Crate-trained, house trained, knows commands. To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.January 30, 2025, 1:12 pm

Story
Meet Frankie! Frankie is a female Rottweiler around 2 yrs . I walked outside one day to find this sweet girl huddled up in my yard just as scared as can be. I think she was abandoned. She had no ID, I posted her on by social media, and even went through the county foster to adopt program without anyone claiming her. I decided to foster her until I could find her a home she deserves. I truly feel it would be in her benefit to be in a situation with someone that is capable of giving her all the love and attention she deserves. I simply am in a different stage in life to where I can’t keep her. Frankie is as sweet as can be. All she wants is to be loved on, and needs an owner that has the time to spend with her, work with her, and be active with her. The ideal owner would be retired or work from home, has plenty of space for her. She is fully grown at 65lb and friendly with everything. She is in desperate need of her forever home!

Story
Charlie is a sweet girl but VERY anxious. She’s prescribed Prozac and honestly could probably increase her dosage. She doesn’t always do well with other animals, and shes done well with kids, but loud noises stress her out so older kids would probably be best. She HATES fireworks and will shake and shed uncontrollably. She gets Trazadone for events like the 4th of July. Charlie is a chewer. When she’s nervous she will literally chew through anything. She has clawed and chewed through doors. She has SEVERE separation anxiety. She would do best with people who are home a lot or will take her with. She actually does really great on car rides.
