Story
Hi, I`m Lego! I recently went on a little adventure, and I can`t wait to tell you about it. A very nice human took me to the pet store to grab some supplies, and I was such a good boy! A bunch of people came up to say hi and pet me on the head—I didn’t mind at all. In fact, I loved the attention!Since then, I’ve been showing off my best manners. No accidents in the house (I’m very proud of that), and I haven’t felt the need to chew on anything that isn’t mine. I’m also great at being alone—I settle down just fine when I’m left by myself or in my crate. All in all, I’d say I’m doing pretty great. I’m always up for some love and am ready for whatever the next adventure brings!I qualify for Foster First, which means you can foster me for 14 days prior to adoption to ensure I’m the perfect fit for your family!

I got Remy from the shelter about 7 months ago. I wanted a friend for my current dog but I am unable to take care of both. She’s really sweet. She loves to cuddle and be pet. She loves anybody she meets. She plays well with other dogs but would rather be an only child.

Story
Meet Guendi! This sweet and spunky girl is looking for a forever family to call her own. Guendi is a playful, affectionate pup who loves to be part of the action—but she also has a sensitive side and needs a little time to warm up to new people. Once she feels safe, she’s all tail wags and love!Guendi has done well with kids (ages 9, 12, and 13), showing her gentle and loving nature. She’s lived peacefully with small dogs and is even cat friendly! She’s still working on her potty training, but with a consistent routine, she’ll get the hang of it quickly. She’s crate trained, knows some basic commands like sit, stay, and paw, and is learning how to be her best self on leash.Loud noises can startle her, and she may be a bit shy at first, but Guendi’s playful and goofy personality shines through once she feels at ease. She’s got a touch of stubbornness, which just adds to her charm—and makes training all the more rewarding.Guendi was sadly surrendered due to breed restrictions and is now hoping for a home where she’ll be accepted and adored just as she is. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, Guendi might be your perfect match.

Story
OK, first — yes, Muggs is a girl dog! And, no, we don’t know how a girl dog got that name. We do know that Muggs is a smart, loving companion whose love language is looking out for her peeps.  As a Rottweiler mix, Muggs is a protector by nature. Back in the day, the Roman legions used Rottweilers to guard their camps. That badass heritage has, shall we say, pros and cons in this modern age. Muggs, for example, won’t do well in a house with young kids she feels compelled to protect from all evildoers – like, you know, the Amazon guy or your next-door neighbor. This sweetheart’s ideal forever home will have a peaceful, predictable rhythm with familiar visitors, minimal visits from strangers, and perhaps another dog. Muggs will be a delightful companion for someone who can provide this environment. Age: 3 years Weight: 70 lbs Temperament: Good with dogs, can be reactive to strangers, particularly men.     Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines.   Training: Crate-trained, house trained, knows commands. To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.January 30, 2025, 1:12 pm

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Brahms is a handsome 6-year-old Rottweiler. His favorite activities include fetch, wrestling, and running on wooded trails. He is good with other dogs outside and inside, loves to chase and romp with his friends but also enjoys long hours of sunbathing. He also gets along with people and gravitates towards confident and respectful handlers. True to his breed, it takes him a minute to trust strangers but once you have established a relationship, he is your best friend. Brahms already knows basic commands- sit, down, stay, wait (for food and at doors), focus, here, crate and touch. He also has excellent recall. He is a loud player and grumbles when he is happy and getting butt rubs. Brahams would do great in a home with experience with Rotties and large strong-willed breeds. He will need daily exercise in the form of long walks or play time with his doggie friends. He is crate trained, and part of his routine is that he stays in there when no one is home. We have not noticed any resource guarding with toys or food, but he does prefer to be left alone during mealtimes. He plays fetch very politely and returns the ball as further evidence of no resource guarding. Brahms had to overcome a traumatic past. He was found living on a balcony of an abandoned property when animal control finally seized him. His former owner had a lengthy record of neglect and cruelty. For two years, neighbors would hear Brahms barking through the night pushing an empty bowl. To make things worse, Brahms remained in the shelter system on court hold for two more years until he was recently released. Brahms is ready to start a new chapter in life as a cherished pet in a loving home. He is ready to be your loyal companion in return. Please check out his reel on instagram-  https://www.facebook.com/reel/1371487440758641 Age: 6 years Weight: 90 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs with proper introduction.  No experience with kids or cats. Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, obedience-trained Vetting: neuter on 5/5/25, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention Email for questions:    sonali@doggieharmony.org To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.April 25, 2025, 8:36 pm

Story
Introducing Dexter! He was brought to the shelter on 4/27 because he was on a journey to find his way home. Dexter is only 2 years old and weighs a mere 42lbs. The volunteers describe him as sweet, very cute, a bit frightened and quiet. He walks very well on a leash during his walks. A volunteer came to visit with him before his walk to help him come out of his kennel. She also gave him a blanket which he seemed very grateful for. After his walk, the volunteer gently wrapped him in the blanket. Upon doing this, he fell fast asleep. With lot of patience, time, and a lot of love, he can slowly come out of his shell. You just have to make the effort to do this. He may know simple commands but he was a bit nervous in showing them. That's okay. It will take some time. Please take some time and visit with him in Run 23. His ID is 9634. He is waiting for you! Please help him find his way out of the shelter and into your heart, home and family. Dexter is current on vaccines, will be neutered and microchipped and tested negative for heartworms. Please take some time and schedule to meet this awesome kiddo and get to know him a little better. Dexter is probably what you have been looking for all this time. He is patiently waiting for his forever family to save his life. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heart worm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Hey there, I`m Bailey, a sweet and gentle pup with a heart of gold and a shy disposition. While I may take a little time to warm up to new people and pets, once you get to know me, you`ll discover just how loving and loyal I can be. I love butt scratches and trying to sit on your lap! I`m what you might call a perfect mix of energy levels—I enjoy playful romps in the yard just as much as I love cozying up on the sofa for a snuggle session. I also do this super funny thing where I actually spin in circles when I get excited! My zoomies are just hysterical, and the shelter staff says I always make them laugh - how sweet. When it comes to meeting new people, I can be a bit timid at first, but with a little patience and understanding, I`ll soon come out of my shell and show you my true colors - which is love!As for my perfect family, I`d thrive in a quiet environment as I can get easily scared. And most importantly, I need someone patient who can take the time to help me adjust to my new surroundings and build trust at my own pace. With the right family by my side, I know I`ll blossom into the loving and loyal companion I was meant to be. I love exploring the shelter and meeting doggie friends - if you have another dog - let`s meet!I qualify for Foster First, which means you can foster me for 14 days prior to adoption to ensure I`m the perfect fit for your family!

Story
Hi, I’m Prince Eric, but you can just call me Eric! I recently went on a weekend slumber party with a very nice family. It was a cozy time full of fun and relaxation, and I got to enjoy some great activities. I spent plenty of time hanging out at home, playing around and enjoying quiet naps when I wasn’t out for a walk in the park. One of my favorite moments was enjoying a Puppachino—it’s the simple things, right? While on this adventure, I met some new people, and I have to say, I’m a bit of a softie. I was wiggly with excitement, tail wagging, and I made sure to show off my gentle leash manners. I even met a couple of kids, and I was just as soft and wiggly with them, making sure to approach them for some pets. I love being around people, and I’m always ready for a new friend to pet me!I didn’t get to meet any cats or other dogs during this trip, but I’m still friendly and curious about other animals. I think I’d do just fine in those situations, especially if I meet them on a leash. As for potty habits, I always made sure to go outside like a good boy.In terms of exercise, I’ve got medium energy. I’d love a nice run or multiple walks a day, but I also appreciate a good nap and some quiet time. I’m housebroken, well-mannered, and know a number of commands. Crate training? No problem. I’ll even nap in my crate if the door’s open. And when it comes to car rides, I’m a pro. All in all, I’m a friendly, gentle soul who enjoys being active, but also loves to curl up and relax. If you’re looking for a well-behaved, loving companion, I might just be your perfect match!
