All adult dogs go on a 2 week trial adoption period to make sure they are a good fit in your home, your adoption fee is fully refundable during that period. We will take all adopted pets back into our program for the life of our pet, with a scheduled appointment. All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.

Oh, sweet Bubba! He is such a handsome caramel and black Rottweiler mix of ~7.5 years and ~55 pounds who came to us through @Saving Death Row Dogs in Topeka, Kansas. He's an amazing boy who deserves an equally amazing home. Bubba just adores children! His perfect day is being with his humans, running in the grass, and lounging with his toys. Bubba loves playing on the couch and rearranging the covers, too. Oh, and giving his human friends kisses! He's been around cats and does fine. Because they are scary to him, though, Bubba will not do well with other dogs in his home. Text or call The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information about Bubba. If you'll foster him, all of his expenses will be paid. 5 year old Ripp is a big, handsome boy at 108lbs! He is reported to be fully housetrained, he knows his basic commands and he has previously lived with children. He does seem to prefer female dogs and, like all of our pups, he would like to meet any potential (female) canine siblings before heading home to make sure that it’s a good match. Ripp does need a home with no cats. He recently got to spend the afternoon outside the shelter with a volunteer: “Ripp was a gentle giant! He was a perfect in the car and sat or laid down the whole way. When he got into my house he explored around and was excited to be in a home! We took him on a trail walk and was a great walker! He was very excited to meet strangers. When we got back he was ready to rest and hang out! Ripp was very gentle with eating treats. He even let us know when he needed to go to the bathroom. Ripp is so perfect and full of love!!!” He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.

Born around January 19, 2025, Meaty is a handsome Hound/Rottweiler mix with a relaxed vibe and an affectionate heart. Whether he’s romping through the yard or lying down to play with his toys, this easygoing pup knows how to have fun and take it slow. He and his brother, Beefy, love sharing toys, playing together, and then crashing for a good nap. Meaty especially loves tummy rubs and is always up for some gentle affection. He’s doing great with potty pad training and is making solid progress with outdoor potty training. He enjoys walking around the yard and is gradually getting the hang of leash walking.
