Story
We rescued murphy when he was around 10 weeks old from a parking lot. He comes from a home with two small kids and an elder dog. He loves to play and snuggle (he truly doesn’t know how big he is and try’s to burrow into you) He is being trained on the leashes as best as we can. His recall is great and he’s off leashes train. Still not fully house trained, and needs more practice. He’s high energy and needs to be socialized. He’s timid about new people but quickly warms up. Murphy needs to find his person and given lots of attention, he’s definitely wanting to be trained and enjoys the one on one time. My husband is in the Navy and away which changed dynamics in our home so he’s not getting the love and care that is required for him and his breed. He loves toys and chewing a good bone. He’s goofy and loving. He’s crate trained, knows simple commands like sit and stay. We just want him to go to a home who loves him like we do.

Story
Donavan is a hyperactive dog. He’s not terrible with other dogs, but he definitely isn’t the best. Maverick is better with other dogs. Don is all talk, he acts like he’s big and mean but he really wouldn’t hurt a fly. He uses his voice to make himself feel like the dominant one when really he is a very scared dog. Donavan’s favorite thing to do is play ball. Mav is more calm and quiet. They both listen very well when they have e collar on. They both will chase, especially if they see another dog, so having his e collar on has helped me control them. I want to find Maverick and Don a good home with no kids or other animals. Someone who is experienced with big dogs and who can devote a lot of their time to them. Having 2 kids now has made it very challenging for us and we are relocating to Florida come summer time. We love our dogs very much but if we can find them a loving home who can devote more Time to them, we will Make that sacrifice.

Story
Hello! I need help rehoming this pup. Young kids got her and they are not prepared to give her the life she deserves! She was born 11/22/24, her dad is Rott, her mom is boxer & border collie, she was bottle fed from 4/5 weeks old. She’s been raised with very young children and other dogs… she is up to date on all vaccines and microchipped. She is very loving, I am working on basic training. She is crate trained. She’ll come with her crate, food, potty pads, vet paperwork, toys and her blanket. She lets me cut her nails and walks (pretty good) on a leash. Please let me know if anyone is interested or knows of anyone wanting a family dog. I will fly her anywhere in the US if someone out of state wants her. TIA!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Click the "meet me" button to start the process and schedule an appointment. To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. I already know some basic cues such as, sit & stay and I'm putting in the work on walking nicely on leash.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.I am used to living an active lifestyle! I would love to get up and go adventure with you. Stick a bandana on me and let's go check some hikes off your bucket list! I had so much fun meeting another dog here in the shelter. My friends at OHS think I would be great at making new dog friends! The type of home I'm looking for:I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. I need to go to a home without small children. Story
HI - I'M GEORGE. Why doesn't anyone want me? I'm a sweet 9-year-old Rottweiler-Shepherd mix in need of a foster or forever home. I was rescued from a California shelter a couple of years ago, where I shared a kennel with another dog. I am a mellow, older boy who needs a soft bed and a loving owner. I was abandoned by my previous owners and have done nothing to deserve that, but am ready for a new start in life. I will make a wonderful companion for someone who can be my companion. I have some arthritis but I am on glucosamine treats and they work wonders! I weigh about 74 pounds. If you can foster or adopt me, please email for an application.
