Home is Jennie Jane favorite place... mostly because that's where all her favorite people are. She's the kind of dog that reminds you the best days don't have to be exciting. Sometimes they look like a lazy Sunday on the couch, a family movie night, a few extra hugs before bed, and everyone laughing because Jennie decided it was time for another howling duet. Her foster mom and her 12-year-old son both say one of their favorite things about Jennie is how incredibly snuggly she is. And if a siren happens to go by? Get ready. Jennie has a habit of singing right along with it. Better yet, if you start howling first, she'll happily join in. It's become one of those silly little traditions that always makes her foster family laugh. As with any rescue dog, her exact breed is always a mystery, but our best guess is she's a Doberman mix. Whatever combination created her also gave her a heart of gold, the sweetest snuggles, and some pretty impressive vocal talents. One of our favorite things about Jennie is that she truly knows how to relax. While some dogs are always looking for the next adventure, Jennie is perfectly content spending quality time at home with the people she loves most. Her foster describes her as having medium to low energy, and we think she'd happily choose a cozy evening on the couch over a busy day out just about every time. She doesn't need constant entertainment or endless activity to be happy. As long as she's with her people, she's exactly where she wants to be. Jennie is currently fostered in a home with a 12-year-old boy, and the two have become the sweetest little buddies. She absolutely adores cuddling with him and has shown what a wonderful companion she can be for respectful children. We think she'd do beautifully with a family that has kids who understand that sometimes the best way to earn Jennie's affection is simply to let her come to you. That same thoughtful personality carries over when she meets new people. Her foster family regularly hosts everything from holiday gatherings to Sunday football watch parties, and Jennie handles visitors beautifully. She'll happily greet everyone when they arrive, but she isn't the type that's immediately climbing into strangers' laps looking for attention. Instead, she'll say hello, quietly do her own thing, and then, once she's decided you're a friend, she'll wander over looking for pets and cuddles. Give her about an hour, and chances are you'll have a new best friend leaning against your leg. Jennie is also wonderful with other dogs. She's currently fostered with both a small male Dachshund mix and a larger male Pittie mix, and she gets along great with both of them. Like she does with people, she simply appreciates slow, respectful introductions. She's not a fan of dogs that rush into her space before she's had a chance to say hello, but once everyone's comfortable, she's an absolute blast to watch. Her foster says she's great at matching the other dog's play style. If her friends are in the mood for a rough-and-rowdy wrestling match, she's all in. If they'd rather play an easy game of chase around the yard, she's just as happy doing that too. Jennie is also cat tolerant and earned Biggie the cat's stamp of approval by politely respecting his space and going about her day. Jennie isn't looking for a family that's constantly on the go. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. Elys Crawford has the kind of curiosity that makes ordinary moments feel like little adventures. Open the back door, and she's already wondering what today's discoveries will be. Having structure from such a young age has set her up beautifully for whatever comes next. One thing that stood out is just how eager she is to learn. Elys is incredibly food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. She's already picking up new commands quickly, responds well to gentle redirection, and shows impressive impulse control for a puppy her age. She has all the ingredients of a dog who genuinely enjoys working with her people. Outside is where Elys really lights up. She loves spending time in the yard, enjoys walks on leash, and is fascinated by the pool. She isn't diving in just yet, but she'll happily wander over to investigate, stretching her neck to peek into the water as though she's trying to decide whether today's the day she'll get a little closer. Her curiosity seems to extend to everything around her, making even a simple walk feel like an opportunity for discovery. Life with other dogs has also taught her some valuable lessons. After being nipped on the face by one of the adult Dobermans, Elys chose to give that dog a little extra space moving forward. Rather than becoming fearful or reactive, she simply adjusted her approach, showing a lovely ability to read social situations and respect boundaries. It's a small detail, but it speaks volumes about her thoughtful temperament. She's affectionate without being overbearing and loves spending time with the adults in her foster home. While she hasn't yet had the opportunity to meet children or cats, her friendly, inquisitive nature gives her a wonderful foundation for continued socialization with thoughtful introductions. Like many large-breed puppies, Elys is growing at an incredible pace. She's all legs right now, with a lean build that changes almost as quickly as she does. Alfina has a tell. You can actually watch the moment she decides someone is safe. Her body softens, her eyes relax, and those adorable ears that usually sit at attention slowly flop forward onto her forehead. It’s a small thing, but her foster family knows exactly what it means. The walls are coming down. The cautious little puppy who spent part of her early life figuring out how to survive is finally ready to let someone in. At first, she’s thoughtful and observant, taking in the world around her before deciding how she’d like to participate. Then you’ll catch glimpses of the puppy her foster family knows so well. The one who chases her dog friends around the yard, and lights up when it’s time for treats. Pay close attention to her ears. If they’re flopped forward, you’ve officially earned a place in her circle. Estimated to be around 4 months old and weighing approximately 25 lbs, Alfina appears to be a Doberman Pincher and German Shepherd mix, though as with all rescue dogs, her breed and age are simply our best educated guess. Alfina has been with her foster family for a little over a month, and she’s come a long way since the day they found her. She was completely alone and so unsure of people that they had to carefully trap her in order to bring her to safety. Experiences like that don’t disappear overnight, and Alfina still approaches new people with a healthy dose of caution. She’s not the puppy who’s going to launch herself into a stranger’s lap five minutes after meeting them. Instead, she prefers to watch, think, and decide for herself when she’s ready. The wonderful thing about Alfina is that once she’s comfortable, she’s incredibly affectionate. She genuinely loves being loved. The trust she gives isn’t automatic, which somehow makes it feel even more special when she chooses to share it. Dogs, however, are a different story. Alfina absolutely adores other dogs. If there is a canine friend nearby, chances are she’s already figuring out how to join whatever game they’re playing. She currently lives with four other dogs and gets along beautifully with all of them. Her favorite playmate happens to be one of the smaller dogs in the home because chasing, running, and zooming around together are among her favorite activities. Watching Alfina with other dogs is a little like watching someone finally speak their native language. It’s where she seems most comfortable and most confident. She’s equally charmed by the home’s orange cat, who apparently never got the memo that he’s supposed to act like a cat. This laid-back feline enjoys playing like one of the dogs, and Alfina has enthusiastically embraced the friendship. Their games have become one of her favorite parts of the day. Life with Alfina is becoming easier by the week because she’s a remarkably smart puppy. She’s already well on her way to being potty trained, regularly holding it through the night and heading outside to do her business first thing in the morning. Food is also a powerful language in Alfina’s world. She loves meals, loves treats, and is always happy to participate in activities that involve snacks. Training her has been made considerably easier thanks to her enthusiasm for both. She currently lives with a two-year-old child and has proven herself to be a wonderful companion. The little boy is active, playful, and constantly on the move, which suits Alfina just fine. One of their favorite games involves him running around the couch while encouraging her to follow along with a rope toy. Tug-of-war is another household favorite. Their friendship feels genuine, and the affection clearly goes both ways. At home, Alfina is quiet. She rarely feels the need to announce herself and doesn’t typically bark unless the other dogs have decided there’s something worth discussing. Even then, she’s more likely to join the conversation than start it. She has shown no signs of aggression and navigates life with a gentle, respectful nature. Alfina also settles nicely when it’s time to relax. Whether she’s spending time in a kennel or a more confined space, she handles it well and understands that downtime is simply part of the routine. Because other dogs have played such a big role in helping Alfina feel safe and confident, we would love to see her join a home with at least one friendly canine companion. Another dog won’t just be a playmate for her. It will be a guide, a comfort, and someone to show her that new experiences aren’t nearly as scary as they first seem.
