Story
“Did someone order a daily dose of joy, tail wags, and puppy kisses? Because Marx is ready to deliver! on repeat!”
Meet Marx! At about 4-months-old with giant puppy paws, shiny black-and-tan markings, the happiest smile ever, and ears that still can’t decide what they’re doing, he is pure puppy perfection. One ear flops, one ear tries its best, and together they somehow make him even cuter. He has the sweetest goofy face and this constantly happy expression like every single thing in life is exciting to him. We think he may be a Doberman/Shepherd mix, but with rescue it’s always a best guess!!
Marx is one of those rare puppies that already feels SO well-rounded. He’s playful and adventurous without being chaotic, super social without being overwhelming, incredibly smart, and also unbelievably cuddly. He absolutely LOVES his people! He will provide you with constant puppy kisses and snuggles and wants to be part of everything you’re doing. Whether you’re going on a hike, sitting on the couch, training, exploring somewhere new, or just hanging out in the backyard, Marx is happiest right beside you.

This boy is also SO smart. He’s extremely treat motivated and absolutely loves learning. He already knows sit, lay down, and high five, and he gets so excited to show off his tricks. His leash skills are honestly incredible for a puppy! He naturally checks in with his handler constantly, gives amazing eye contact, and sits so quickly when asked. He really has the perfect personality for someone who wants a dog to train, adventure with, and include in everyday life.
And PLAYTIME???
Oh my gosh this puppy LOVES toys.
Balls, stuffies, tug ropes, chews, squeakers, OH MY! If it exists, Marx wants to play with it. He absolutely thrives playing with his doggy friends too and has such fun, happy energy. During his assessment, he just needed a minute to feel comfortable around new dogs, but once he settled in, he was happily following them around, joining in play, and making friends. He especially loved dogs closer to his size and did wonderfully with respectful playful dogs that gave him space to warm up first. He would love another playful but respectful doggy sibling, but not required!
He also did AMAZING with kids. He met a 5-year-old during his assessment and was so sweet, gentle, and loving. He really gives strong family dog energy because he’s playful enough to have fun with kids but also affectionate and emotionally soft.
And the cat test was honestly adorable too. Marx was curious and friendly, but when the cat gave him a swat for getting too close, he immediately respected the boundary and backed away. It was such a lovely puppy response because it showed he listens well and doesn’t want conflict. He’d likely do best with calm dog-savvy cats and slow introductions, especially if he has a playful doggy friend in the home too.
One of the nicest things about Marx is that even though he’s playful and adventurous, he settles SO well for a puppy. After walks or playtime, he’s perfectly happy curling up beside you, laying in your lap, or just quietly hanging out chewing on a toy near his people. He really has such a beautiful balance of fun and calm.
Marx feels like the kind of puppy people spend years looking for, affectionate, social, trainable, adventurous, cuddly, confident, emotionally sweet, and just genuinely happy to be alive.
