Hi, I’m Bruno! I might bark a lot when you first meet me, but that’s just because I’m a bit shy. Once I get to know you, I’m all about cuddles and quiet time together. I love gentle pats and cozy corners where I can watch the world go by. Car rides aren’t really my thing — I’d much rather stay home where it’s calm and comfy. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who’s a big softie at heart, I’m your guy. I promise to fill your days with loyalty and affection. Let’s make a cozy home together! If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. What my friends at OHS say about me:Just like a bear, I am snuggly, cute, and love butt scratches.I'm missing a leg, not sure where I left it, but it does not slow me down one bit!I really enjoy the company of my human friends. I will thrive with an active lifestyle! I would love to get up and go adventure with you.I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. Mental enrichment activities are a great way to entertain me and work my brain.I really enjoy playing with toys! I'll show you my favorite when we meet!I had so much fun meeting another dog here in the shelter. I am a pretty rough and rowdy player and my friends at OHS think I would be great at making new large dog friends that can match my playstyle! The type of home I'm looking for:I need a home without cats, small dogs, or other small animals.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. It could be with you! Story
HI - I'M MORGAN, and I'm a large (90-pound-plus) 6-year-old male Rottweiler in need of a forever home. I've been waiting quite awhile for the right person or people to come along. I'm a very loyal Rottie and will be loving and protective to my person. I especially love women though would do fine with the right guy. I'm not fond of farm animals, and I'm also not a fan of some veterinarians. I do have some arthritis, so stairs do not work for me. I'm also bit flat-footed now and then, but nobody will notice. I currently take inexpensive glucosamine dog treats, which help greatly. Rottweiler or big-dog experience is essential! I would do best with a single person or a couple who wants a loyal companion and who has experience with the breed. I would also do best in a quiet home where my person or people are my world. I have done fine with some dogs, but will thrive as the only dog in the home. Please email for an application.

**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Meet Mushu Russell, approx 2yrs old, neutered male, Rottweiler/Husky Mix of a Mix. Mushu is incredibly smart, loves routine, eager to learn. He is learning about other dogs and how to interact. His ideal home would be a person with Rottweiler knowledge, a fenced backyard, someone he can go on adventures, like hiking with. He knows sit, stay leave-it, kennel, he is house trained and is working on leash manners. He is often shy at first, but warms up quickly with a squeaky toy. **Please note, Mushu was severely underweight when he arrived, he is gaining weight but still is underweight*** My adoption fee is $200

Story
Born 4/2021. Vader was adopted at 9 wks, lived in apartment as a single pet with a baby to 6/25. Owners could not have dogs anymore. I took Vader in and he has done great w/ my 3 rotties. He is NOT aggressive but big and strong. He is a sweetheart, loves to cuddle, & non-stop fetcher. A great pet for someone who knows large dogs. His back knees have issues. Surgery is not necessary but possible. He does very well without it. He limps if he walks/hikes/plays too far or long without rest He runs, plays, and fetches like any other dog on our 1/3 acre. He loves to play but his main interest is fetching and tug is new with my dogs. He is happy. Does great around babies & kids. He shows no interest in the squirrels. Recently exposed to cats. Cats were afraid and hissed so he barked but showed no interest in them. He has a deep, loud bark when he plays or when people come to the door. Bedding, toys, records included. Looking for a yard, kids a plus, meet and greet required.

Story
Bear is a 4 year old Doberman Labrador mix. Up to date on his shots, he’s chipped as well as neutered. No medical issues. He’s a very sweet boy, great with other dogs, kids, and loves all people. He needs a home with a big backyard and a lot of space to run. He has a prey drive so no small animals - he will chase squirrels, skunks, possums etc and bark at deer and livestock. He is good with my cats but I would introduce him to new cats gradually and with caution. He doesn’t do well by himself so ideally he should go to a home with at least one other dog or someone who is home most of the time. He loves love and will cuddle with you all day if you let him. He knows quite a few commands and I’ve been working with him on learning tricks. His favorite game is tug o war but he doesn’t like playing it with other dogs, he loves to wrestle with other dogs though and always has a blast at dog parks. He’s good on a leash and loves going for car rides. He’s good about not running out into the road and has pretty good recall  If you are interested in this hunk of love, please apply for him here: https://form.jotform.com/60136667457159 ##1785505##
