Story
With a face like that, you saw it, and a name like Raja, I'm pretty sure he was supposed to guard a royal castle but instead he took a few clown classes and caught the first bus pointed somewhere fun. He may have the looks for it but this big ol’ boy was born to roll on his back and beg for belly rubs. Raja is actually a gentle, prayerful soul whose greatest mission in life is loving his people deeply and, again, protecting them. Watch all of his lovable, adorable moves here then come back to read more about this absolute heartthrob. https://youtu.be/9VgMkdamHR8 Estimated to be around 5 years old and weighing in at a glorious 115 lbs, Raja is a true beefcake Rottweiler with movie-star looks and a heart made of marshmallow. He rides beautifully in the car- though he does expect that most trips will start (or end) in a pup cup or a kolache. (Honestly?Me too. And in his case, he is usually right. He has earned it afterall.)I will warn you now, Raja has a level of pretty privilege that defies explanation- drive-thru workers hand him snacks, on the house, and his local kolache spot sends his favorites at the first sight of his foster mom, even when he’s not present. Charisma like that cannot be taught, only appreciated and admired. In the car, Raja takes his role as protector very seriously-his life’s mission includes keeping an eye on suspicious windshield wipers, rogue plastic bags, and anything else that dares to move unexpectedly. Rest assured, if something seems questionable, Raja is on the job. He starts low with a few thoughtful barks and keeps it appropriate, just enough to make you feel like you’ve got a very devoted (and extremely handsome) co-pilot on duty. At home, Raja is equally committed to his guardian duties. He has a big, impressive bark and will happily let you know when someone is at the door; especially if it’s the Amazon delivery driver. Think of him as your personal announcement system with a marshmallow heart. Raja plays wonderfully with other dogs during playgroup and can be bouncy and playful, with great dog manners and an understanding of when to take breaks. Raja is looking for a home confident, goofy dog friend (preferably female) but what he really wants is to be an only child, where he can soak up all the attention and be your one-and-only! He enjoys dog friends in short bursts, but his happiest life will be as the star of his own castle. In the home Raja is a big couch potato. Raja truly wants to be with his people and a very typical Rottie! As far as children, he would love a home with older kids (12+) who can enjoy his size, cuddles, and toy-filled playtime. We love how well he self entertains and relaxes in a home.Give him a ball, a patch of grass, and a person to love, and he will be heart-full and set. Truly, this boy is one of the best self-entertainers you could meet (or watch for entertainment) and watching him happily amuse himself is pure joy. He does need a home with a yard (that grass patch matters), and he’s looking for a cat-free home. He once loved a stuffed toy shaped like a cat and, bless his heart, does not understand the difference between plush and pet (or so the lore goes.) Better safe than sorry, right? Raja is smart, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his people. He’s the kind of dog who will stand watch when needed and then curl up close, convinced his job is never really done as long as you’re nearby. If you’re looking for a dog who looks like a guardian but lives for nightly prayer, cuddles, snacks, and devotion- Raja is ready to swear himself to you for life. Ready to welcome Raja home? Strong, smart, a little silly, and very enthusiastic about a game of fetch… this is Ohlee! She has a cool, calm confidence but still lights up when the fun begins. A Rottweiler with a playful side, a friendly nature and a big ol’ heart, how could anyone resist? Want to see this fetch-loving beauty in action? Head over to YouTube and then come right back to learn more about the girl who ran away with out heart. Ohlee is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 74 lbs. She appears to be a Rottweiler through and through, just a slightly more petite version of the classic look. As always with rescue, breed and birthday are our best guess. During her assessment, Ohlee made an impression right away. She greeted people with friendly curiosity and has a relaxed confidence that makes everyone smile and makes her easy company. When it was time to show-off what she knows, she showed that she has great basic leash skills and is happy to engage with her handler. Smart girl energy all the way. And then there’s the fetch. Ohlee absolutely understands the assignment. Toss the ball and she’s off with joyful purpose, bringing it right back with a gentle mouth and zero toy possessiveness. It’s the kind of easy, cooperative play that makes backyard time extra fun. With other dogs, Ohlee was an absolute star. Calm, confident, friendly… and also perfectly content doing her own thing. She greeted every dog politely and then often wandered off to sniff the yard like a happy little explorer. She initiated play a couple of times, but she seems more like a “short play session and then back to sniffing” kind of girl. Overall she gives off that wonderful medium-to-low energy vibe that makes her easy company for people and dogs. Ohlee is fostered in a loving home with a wide variety of dogs and her foster family praises her for being house and crate trained with great house manners. She is calm, respectful, and learns quickly. Ohlee has shown that living with cats isn’t the right match for her, so she’ll need a feline-free home moving forward. Otherwise, Ohlee is the kind of dog who fits into many lifestyles. With her steady temperament and moderate energy level, she could even thrive in an apartment environment as long as the building allows larger breeds and she gets her daily walks and the occasional game of fetch. If you’ve been dreaming of a loyal companion who mixes classic Rottie charm with a playful spirit and easygoing presence, Ohlee is your girl! Apply today to meet Ohlee! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69a5ec43d120e3239602df6b Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Story
Okay but listen… you are not ready for Marcus Bear. Big, blocky head? Check. Squishy, kissable cheeks? Absolutely. Heart of solid gold? Without question. He’s the total package: gentle, steady, incredibly tolerant, and so patient it almost feels unreal. This boy is so easygoing you could put him in the most ridiculous dress-up props imaginable and he would just sit there like, “Is this what we’re doing? Okay.” Hats? Fine. Bandanas? Sure. Tiny sunglasses? Why not. He’s that tolerant. The kind of dog who just wants to be included and loved. And that face. The classic Rottie squish. The kind you just want to cup in your hands and smooch. Marcus Bear isn’t just a good dog, he’s the kind of dog families dream about. Loyal. Loving. Dog friendly. Kid approved. Ridiculously tolerant. Built like a tank. Soft like a marshmallow. And there is so much more! Watch his video and fall in love: https://youtu.be/XS81f3NYdmw?si=9Cy71AcyMRhVFW1X Marcus Bear is believed to be a Rottweiler mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 78 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Marcus the perfect combination of affection while also being independent. He’s not overly needy with his love nor does he ever over do it. If you’re someone that works from home, he’ll be a great work from home buddy because he’s not going to be constantly begging you for attention or getting into things he shouldn’t be (he has wonderful house manners I might add). He’s the type that will come up to you when the time is right for a little ear/nose scratch almost as if he knew you needed a 5 min break from work. As for the rest of the time, he’s a window watcher and loves looking out windows or he’ll be playing with a toy. While Marcus waits for his forever family, he is being spoiled by his foster family and they absolutely adore him and rave about him. He is currently fostered in a multi-kid household with some being as young a 3 years old, and Marcus has been nothing but sweet perfection around the kids in his foster home. They have the best time playing together, snuggling, and he loves being a part of a family dynamic. Marcus is very tolerant with all of the kids in the home and just loves them to pieces. He has no issues when the kids are playing with his toys, running around, and is frequently found giving them the gentlest kisses. It’s the sweetest thing! If you have kids and are looking for a bestie for your kiddos, Marcus is definitely your guy. Not only is Marcus great with kids, he is also very dog friendly and has done great with all the dogs we have introduced him to and is also fostered in a home with an 8 month old playful pittie mix. Marcus has been around dogs all with different personalities and has done great with every single one. Marcus is wonderful about meeting new dogs and will either play with them or will go off and do his own thing. That’s what is so great about him, the way he is able to adapt to the dogs around him. He can run around, have a good time and he also just as happy going off and doing his own thing while the other dogs are being wild. Marcus would love to have a dog sibling in the home, but if you don’t have one, that’s okay too. He does not need the company of another dog to satisfy his energy needs or to help him open up. Marcus would love to be in a home with a backyard where he can sunbathe anytime he wants, roll in the grass, and explore all the fun smells. He would make a great companion while you garden and relax on the patio enjoying the fresh air. He’ll enjoy going on neighborhood walks, mini adventures and then will happily lay next to you for cozy time. Marcus is such a good boy, a 10/10. Now, he just needs a family to call his own. We are willing to test Marcus Bear with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Queen is a social butterfly and loves all people. She just turned 6 but has hip dysplasia and she needs a mellow one story home where she can relax and enjoy the remainder of her retirement years. I offered to foster Queen so she would not be euthanized and her family would not be evicted. She still has a successful prey drive so no small animals including small dogs. Bigger dogs are no problem. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch, lay around outside, go for leisurely walks, get pets from strangers, and most of all eat whatever you are eating. 💕 6 years old, spayed, 90ish lbs 💕 Loves all people and children older than 5 💕 No small animals including cats and small dogs 💕 Has bad hips, can do some stairs but best if she is in a home with no stairs. 💕 Still goes on walks, 3-5 blocks 2 times a day is best 💕 Located in Portland but willing to travel for the right home Videos available. Story
Coffee is a beautiful rottweiler who was at risk of getting shot after being dumped on a rural property. She was heartworm positive but has been treated for it. She has stubby tail. She has been good with male and female dogs medium to large but has not been around small dogs or cats. She is very very friendly with people. She walks well on the leash. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Story
Meet Norte an 11-month-old, 65lb Rottweiler mix with the sweetest baby face, kind eyes, and a gentle soul that should be worrying about toys and naps… not losing his life Norte is just a puppy! A little shy, a little unsure, but so incredibly cute, soft, and sweet. He has that kind of innocence that makes you want to protect him instantly. You can see how badly he wants to connect, he just needs someone to show him the world isn’t scary. Once he starts to warm up, Norte becomes playful, affectionate, and curious about life. He allows all over petting, did great off leash with a female dog, and did well on leash with a male dog (unfortunately the leash itself makes him nervous). With a little confidence building, patience, and basic obedience training, Norte is going to grow into the absolute best version of himself. He’s a sensitive baby with so much potential. ##2661081##

Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) All dogs/cats can be adopted in all locations below, regardless of where they are posted.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Ann Marie is really too distinguished of a name for someone who wiggles and snorts the way this girl does. Ann Marie is a (unofficial) Certified 1st Place Snuggler. She hasn’t shown anyone the ribbon but she will show you how she secured the title, all you have to do is sit down somewhere, she will seek you. Take a look at this sweet lady here then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/tVMnFCPCWe0 When she isn’t putting the snuggle moves on you she can usually be found rolling around on her back like it’s her very own happy dance, or snoozing away in her dog bed. Ann Marie is estimated to be 7-8 years old, possibly a boxer/ pittie mix, and she weighs 50 lbs. Of course, given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee breed or birthday. This girl knows a thing or two because she has seen a thing or two, she has earned her opinions. For example,, people are awesome, other dogs are just meh. It's similar to a feeling I see plenty of people develop as we get older… other adults-meh, dogs- heck yes! So don’t fault her, she can be polite and coexist but where she really wants to be is with the people. She’s great with kids, her foster’s 12-year-old daughter is her best-snuggle -buddy and she’s done well with other dogs when introductions are slow and respectful. Anne Marie is confident and prefers low-energy, chill, canine companions, ideally a calm male who respects the fact that she is slow to warm up, or she would be just as happy soaking up the spotlight as your one-and-only. High-energy dogs or pushy playmates are not for her. Anne Marie isn’t needy, but she thrives on your presence. She’s house-trained, non-destructive, rides well in the car, and has an easy, leisurely pace on leash. She doesn’t need long walks, just short strolls, lots of love, and plenty of couch time. Can we say low-maintenance together? Low-maintenance. That’s the best way to describe her. While she’s lived around cats before, she can get too interested in chasing a playful cat, so a cat-free home would be best. Anne Marie would be a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loving, affectionate, mellow best friend. She’s ready to spend her golden years giving all her love-and she has so much of it to give. Come home to the most delightful dog with her happy wiggle-butt and piggy-snorts and watch your worries disappear. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
If you're looking for a best friend with the absolute best smile and a sugary sweet affectionate soul, meet Tango the kissy Dancer. This boy is the full package: loyal, playful, soooo loving, and a total goofball with the pittie head that’ll make you fall in love at first sight! We believe Tango is a Boxer/Pittie mix around 9 months old and weighs approximately 45 pounds. He has the perfect little compact body and the most handsome face ever. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed are our best guess and cannot be guaranteed. Check out Tango here: https://youtu.be/CS4K0UqmYSs Tango has never met a stranger. He’s the kind of dog who walks into a room and instantly makes everyone feel like they’ve been best friends for years. And if you’ve got treats? Well, buckle up, because you’ve just become the center of his universe. He was not shy giving everyone at the property his undivided attention for a quick round of kisses and puppy tail wags. Treats are the way to this boy’s heart, and he’ll show his appreciation with his signature toothy grin and the happiest tail wag you’ve ever seen. His love for people runs deep. His foster says her favorite thing about him is how he’ll climb into her lap and just gaze at her like she’s the most important person in the world. He is cuddly beyond belief and would absolutely thrive in a home where he can curl up next to you, soaking in all the love you have to give. Tango has lived harmoniously with a full dog squad, four pups in total, and he's been the life of the party. Whether it’s his dominant older foster sister, his high-energy lab buddy, or two playful 1.5-year-old boys. He knows how to read the room and match energy. He plays respectfully, knows when to follow the rules, and can roughhouse with the best of them. He also attends a daycare where he mingles like a pro with a group of 20-30 dogs. His best friends there? A Doberman and another pittie. He really shines around dogs his size or playful puppies who love a good game of chase. He would thrive in a home with another medium energy dog to spend his days with. After a bit of play, Tango knows how to settle down. One of our favorite moments with him was after the crowd cleared and he just hung out with us in a quiet room, relaxed and content, soaking up some one-on-one time. He’ll make a great adventure buddy followed by an evening relaxing on the couch. He walks beautifully on leash and would be the kind of dog you take to the park, patio, or trail and know he’ll be right by your side, smiling the whole way. At home, he’s crate trained and sleeps through the night like a champ. He would do best in a home with a yard to run off his zoomies, and we can easily see him thriving with older, dog-savvy kids who’ll love him as much as he loves them. If there is a certain age that you are curious to know how Tango interacts with, let us know. We will be happy to find out. We want to make sure he is perfect for your family! Cats, however, are not his cup of tea. He’s all about the people and the pups. He doesn’t need much to be happy, just a little space to play, a lap to lean into, and someone to share his big heart with. Tango is the definition of man’s best friend, but really, he’s everyone’s best friend. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving, treat-motivated cuddle machine with the biggest heart and a head you’ll want to smooch daily, Tango the kissy Dancer is ready to two-step his way right into your life. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
