From the moment you meet Dinah, there is a sense of comfort and calm there. It’s almost like she makes you slow down and smile without even realizing it. If her soft eyes don’t pull you in the way she gently melts at your feet for a moment of love will absolutely get you. At a little over a year old and 63 lbs, this beautiful Rottweiler/Shepherd mix (best guess, of course) is still discovering the world, and every day her playful, affectionate personality grows. What stands out most about Dinah is how deeply loving she is. She absolutely adores gentle affection, melts for belly rubs, and forms the kind of quiet, meaningful connection that feels incredibly special. We spent an afternoon with her outside of her foster home and she was just a whole bunch of gentle sweetness. We let her take it slow and it didnt take much time at all before she was meeting new people, rolingl over to show her belly, and gently taking treats. The cutest thing was when the belly rubs stopped, Dinah would quietly scoot herself back closer asking for more. It was one of those tiny little moments that says everything about who she really is. Dinah is very people-oriented despite her shyness. More than anything, she seems to crave soft affection, patient reassurance, and gentle connection. She takes comfort in calm voices and kind handling and really appears to blossom when she realizes nobody expects anything from her except simply being herself. She has a wonderfully soft mouth when taking treats and overall comes across as an incredibly sensitive, thoughtful dog. With other dogs, Dinah initially needed a little time to settle in and trust the situation, but once she relaxed she showed very appropriate social skills and gentle communication. Pushy dogs can overwhelm her, though she gives fair, controlled corrections when needed and then quickly moves on. She would likely do best with respectful, socially savvy dogs, especially calm or playful medium to large dogs who won’t crowd her. Her foster shared that once comfortable at home she actually enjoys rough-and-tumble style play, which feels very believable for a young dog finally letting her guard down. Dinah is not recommended for homes with cats or very small dogs, and because fast movement and busy environments initially can make her feel overwhelmed, we think she would likely thrive most in a calmer home with older kids or adults who understand shy dogs and the beauty of letting trust build slowly. The thing about Dinah is that she is not difficult, dramatic, or demanding. She is simply sensitive. She notices tone, energy, movement, and intention in a deep way. Flora is only six months old, but there is already something wonderfully calm and thoughtful about her. She is gentle with little kids, respectful with cats, sweet with other dogs and perfectly content entertaining herself with a toy in the grass. Her foster was as curious as we were and sent off a DNA test! Lucky you, there is no 6 week wait time and the results show that she is a Rottweiler and Great Dane mix. She is still growing and will likely become a fairly large dog, but so far, she carries herself with a gentleness and maturity that feel well beyond her six months. Flora is fostered in a busy, loving home with dogs and cats. Most of the resident dogs are older and not particularly interested in keeping a puppy entertained all day, but Flora handles that beautifully. She will happily carry a toy or chewy bone outside, settle into the grass, putter around sniffing and enjoy her own company. She does not need another dog to be happy, though she does enjoy friendly, lighthearted dogs that like to play without being overly rough. Flora currently lives with small dogs and thrives with them. She is also genuinely wonderful with cats. Flora lives with them and remained calm and respectful when she met our house cat, even while he ran, jumped, played and attempted to stalk her. She was unfazed and showed no interest in chasing or bothering him. Flora has spent time with children ranging from two to 15 years old and has been wonderful with them. She is still a growing puppy and may occasionally jump when excited, but she has shown impressive mindfulness and gentleness around smaller children. At home, Flora has been an incredibly easy addition. She is both house and crate trained, has basic leash skills and responds well to direction. She is highly treat motivated, intelligent and eager to learn. Her best match will be someone excited to continue her training, building her confidence and give that thoughtful puppy brain plenty of positive things to do. Queen is a social butterfly and loves all people. She just turned 6 but has hip dysplasia and she needs a mellow one story home where she can relax and enjoy the remainder of her retirement years. I offered to foster Queen so she would not be euthanized and her family would not be evicted. She still has a strong prey drive so no small animals including small dogs and cats. Bigger dogs are no problem. Rudi is a healthy, young, playful dog just over one year. He is a large breed Rottweiler mix, He is social with new people and dogs. He has shown NO aggression. He is learning basic manners and walking with a leash. He needs consistent training and picks up quickly. He is a powerful dog about 80 pounds. He has a lot of energy and needs to be exercised daily. He is nearly house trained. He tends to get anxious when left alone, but does not damage anything. He does NOT chew on things. People can walk by our deck on the footpath and he doesn’t bark. He got neutered on Aug 31st.Good news his shots are up to date and he tolerates getting bathed. My son rescued him from an elderly lady that couldn’t take care of him. We can’t keep him, but we agreed to foster him and help find him a good home. He is a sweet boy and he would love to bond with you. Rudi deserves a good home. He loves to follow his person around and be near them. We have started crate training.

We spent an afternoon with her outside of her foster home and she was just a whole bunch of gentle sweetness. We let her take it slow and it didnt take much time at all before she was meeting new people, rolingl over to show her belly, and gently taking treats. The cutest thing was when the belly rubs stopped, Dinah would quietly scoot herself back closer asking for more. It was one of those tiny little moments that says everything about who she really is. Dinah is very people-oriented despite her shyness. More than anything, she seems to crave soft affection, patient reassurance, and gentle connection. She takes comfort in calm voices and kind handling and really appears to blossom when she realizes nobody expects anything from her except simply being herself. She has a wonderfully soft mouth when taking treats and overall comes across as an incredibly sensitive, thoughtful dog. With other dogs, Dinah initially needed a little time to settle in and trust the situation, but once she relaxed she showed very appropriate social skills and gentle communication. Pushy dogs can overwhelm her, though she gives fair, controlled corrections when needed and then quickly moves on. She would likely do best with respectful, socially savvy dogs, especially calm or playful medium to large dogs who won’t crowd her. Her foster shared that once comfortable at home she actually enjoys rough-and-tumble style play, which feels very believable for a young dog finally letting her guard down. Dinah is not recommended for homes with cats or very small dogs, and because fast movement and busy environments initially can make her feel overwhelmed, we think she would likely thrive most in a calmer home with older kids or adults who understand shy dogs and the beauty of letting trust build slowly. The thing about Dinah is that she is not difficult, dramatic, or demanding. She is simply sensitive. She notices tone, energy, movement, and intention in a deep way. Dogs like Dinah often form incredibly strong bonds with the people who give them patience and safety because once they trust you, they truly love with their whole heart. Flora is only six months old, but there is already something wonderfully calm and thoughtful about her. She is gentle with little kids, respectful with cats, sweet with other dogs and perfectly content entertaining herself with a toy in the grass. Her foster was as curious as we were and sent off a DNA test! Lucky you, there is no 6 week wait time and the results show that she is a Rottweiler and Great Dane mix. She is still growing and will likely become a fairly large dog, but so far, she carries herself with a gentleness and maturity that feel well beyond her six months. Flora is fostered in a busy, loving home with dogs and cats. Most of the resident dogs are older and not particularly interested in keeping a puppy entertained all day, but Flora handles that beautifully. She will happily carry a toy or chewy bone outside, settle into the grass, putter around sniffing and enjoy her own company. She does not need another dog to be happy, though she does enjoy friendly, lighthearted dogs that like to play without being overly rough. Flora currently lives with small dogs and thrives with them. She is also genuinely wonderful with cats. Flora lives with them and remained calm and respectful when she met our house cat, even while he ran, jumped, played and attempted to stalk her. She was unfazed and showed no interest in chasing or bothering him. Flora has spent time with children ranging from two to 15 years old and has been wonderful with them. She is still a growing puppy and may occasionally jump when excited, but she has shown impressive mindfulness and gentleness around smaller children. At home, Flora has been an incredibly easy addition. She is both house and crate trained, has basic leash skills and responds well to direction. She is highly treat motivated, intelligent and eager to learn. Her best match will be someone excited to continue her training, building her confidence and give that thoughtful puppy brain plenty of positive things to do. Timothy Easy Breezy is the kind of puppy who seems to have already figured out that life is better when you just go with the flow. At just 2 months old, this Rottweiler/Chocolate Lab mix has a calm, easygoing personality that earned him the title of the “cool kid” in his foster home. While his siblings may be busy stirring up puppy business, Timothy is happy taking everything in stride. Queen is a social butterfly and loves all people. She just turned 6 but has hip dysplasia and she needs a mellow one story home where she can relax and enjoy the remainder of her retirement years. I offered to foster Queen so she would not be euthanized and her family would not be evicted. She still has a strong prey drive so no small animals including small dogs and cats. Bigger dogs are no problem. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch, lay around outside, go for leisurely walks, get pets from strangers, and most of all eat whatever you are eating. 💕 6 years old, spayed, 90ish lbs 💕 Loves all people and children older than 5 💕 No small animals including cats and small dogs 💕 Has bad hips, can do some stairs but best if she is in a home with no stairs. 💕 Still goes on walks, 5-6 blocks 2 times a day is best 💕 Located in Portland but willing to travel for the right home Videos available. Bear is a 4 year old Doberman Labrador mix. Up to date on his shots, he’s chipped as well as neutered. No medical issues. He’s a very sweet boy, great with other dogs, kids, and loves all people. He needs a home with a big backyard and a lot of space to run. He has a prey drive so no small animals - he will chase squirrels, skunks, possums etc and bark at deer and livestock. He is good with my cats but I would introduce him to new cats gradually and with caution. He doesn’t do well by himself so ideally he should go to a home with at least one other dog or someone who is home most of the time. He loves love and will cuddle with you all day if you let him. He knows quite a few commands and I’ve been working with him on learning tricks. His favorite game is tug o war but he doesn’t like playing it with other dogs, he loves to wrestle with other dogs though and always has a blast at dog parks. He’s good on a leash and loves going for car rides. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. His enthusiasm could simply be too much for little ones. He would be much better matched with a family that can comfortably handle his energy and rowdy style of fun. Home is Jennie Jane favorite place... mostly because that's where all her favorite people are. She's the kind of dog that reminds you the best days don't have to be exciting. Sometimes they look like a lazy Sunday on the couch, a family movie night, a few extra hugs before bed, and everyone laughing because Jennie decided it was time for another howling duet. Her foster mom and her 12-year-old son both say one of their favorite things about Jennie is how incredibly snuggly she is. And if a siren happens to go by? Get ready. Jennie has a habit of singing right along with it. Better yet, if you start howling first, she'll happily join in. It's become one of those silly little traditions that always makes her foster family laugh. As with any rescue dog, her exact breed is always a mystery, but our best guess is she's a Doberman mix. Whatever combination created her also gave her a heart of gold, the sweetest snuggles, and some pretty impressive vocal talents. One of our favorite things about Jennie is that she truly knows how to relax. While some dogs are always looking for the next adventure, Jennie is perfectly content spending quality time at home with the people she loves most. Her foster describes her as having medium to low energy, and we think she'd happily choose a cozy evening on the couch over a busy day out just about every time. She doesn't need constant entertainment or endless activity to be happy. As long as she's with her people, she's exactly where she wants to be. Jennie is currently fostered in a home with a 12-year-old boy, and the two have become the sweetest little buddies. She absolutely adores cuddling with him and has shown what a wonderful companion she can be for respectful children. We think she'd do beautifully with a family that has kids who understand that sometimes the best way to earn Jennie's affection is simply to let her come to you. That same thoughtful personality carries over when she meets new people. Her foster family regularly hosts everything from holiday gatherings to Sunday football watch parties, and Jennie handles visitors beautifully. She'll happily greet everyone when they arrive, but she isn't the type that's immediately climbing into strangers' laps looking for attention. Instead, she'll say hello, quietly do her own thing, and then, once she's decided you're a friend, she'll wander over looking for pets and cuddles. Give her about an hour, and chances are you'll have a new best friend leaning against your leg. Jennie is also wonderful with other dogs. She's currently fostered with both a small male Dachshund mix and a larger male Pittie mix, and she gets along great with both of them. Like she does with people, she simply appreciates slow, respectful introductions. She's not a fan of dogs that rush into her space before she's had a chance to say hello, but once everyone's comfortable, she's an absolute blast to watch. Her foster says she's great at matching the other dog's play style. If her friends are in the mood for a rough-and-rowdy wrestling match, she's all in. If they'd rather play an easy game of chase around the yard, she's just as happy doing that too. Jennie is also cat tolerant and earned Biggie the cat's stamp of approval by politely respecting his space and going about her day. Jennie isn't looking for a family that's constantly on the go. She's looking for the people who appreciate slow mornings, movie marathons, football Sundays, and evenings spent together at home. The people who understand that sometimes the very best memories come from doing absolutely nothing... except sharing the couch with a dog that gives incredible hugs and occasionally breaks into song. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
