Okay, do you know that person who will enthusiastically say “YES!” to playing a game even though they have never played and do not know the rules? If Darby was a person, that would be her. She is sweet, spunky, and always ready for whatever and you know she is going to make it fun! The thing is, that doesn’t mean she is the one throwing the party- she will leave that to the confident queens, she just wants to be invited…basically, Darby is a loving, playful girl with a confident, but slightly shy side. Once she’s comfortable, her fun side comes out in full force. She loves a tennis ball! So far fetch isn’t really her thing, but carrying one around? Absolutely! Darby is estimated to be about 2 years old, she weighs 85 lbs, and given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee age or breed. Which leads to the topic of breed. Hmm…so how do I say this…we have no idea. Honestly she had us all scratching our heads so here are a few of the breeds our team sees in her either by looks or mannerisms. Mastiff, Rhodesian Ridgeback, black mouth cur, boerboel, black and tan coonhound…so let’s go with that. But if you get her DNA done please share the results with us! Darby is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving family home complete with a set of parents, two young kids, two other dogs, and three cats. With kids age 1 and 5 his foster mom shared that he is awesome with the kids. Her foster shared that Darby licks the 1 year olds hands and wants to play and their 5 year old loves her. She did acknowledge that Darby is a big girl and has knocked over the 5 year old on accident and it is easy to see that Darby is still learning the size of her body in relation to other things. Because Darby loves the kids but truly just wants to play with them, we thing she would be happiest in a home with older children (10+) who want a dog they can play with. Her foster also shared that she has been around a other kids ages 5-10 and her behavior has been consistent across all of them, friendly and happy to be around them, and happiest if they want to play with her. In some ways she is just a big puppy and this really sounds like one of those ways. An ideal home for Darby would be one with a yard given her size and love of play. Which leads to Darby with dogs! This girl is definitely dog-friendly and is a regular at the local dog park where she always makes at least one new friend to play with. Having a playful dog in the home is going to be key to her happiness. When we introduced her to new dogs it was easy to see she is friendly and eager to make a connection, almost immediately inviting them to play. Not every dog she met was as eager to play, which is natural, but when she finally met a dog that took her up on the invite, it was amazing! She has a distinct play style and if you have a dog that can match her energy, you are likely very familiar with it. Simply, she plays hard, best described as rough and rowdy. The best pairing of another dog would be one that is similar size and energy level. A chill senior or a much smaller dog probably isn't the right match for her, but a fun-loving male dog, in a structured home? Perfect! Also, thanks to the fact that Darby is fostered, we can say with confidence that she is both house and crate trained. Darby lives with three cats currently and was introduced to our house cat. She is cat-tolerant, meeting polite caution but her playful side did show just enough that if she was in the home with a cat, a dog-savvy, confident cat would be the best fit. In other words, she needs a cat who won’t hesitate to give her a swat when needed — a timid kitty could easily be intimidated by her size. Darby’s a sweet, energetic girl who just wants someone to have fun with — and snuggle up with once the zoomies wear off. Sweet, silly sidekick reporting for duty, its Mary Puppins! This girl is a happy-go-lucky, people-loving girl with just the right balance of playful energy and laid-back charm. Estimated to possibly be right around three years old, she weighs right around 50 lbs, and we can’t decide on what we see in her breed wise. Someone said little rottie, another said big beagle, we see black mouth cur… this is where we just acknowledge that rescue is our favorite breed and a Texas special is top-tier catch. If you know of a breed that is characterized by a wiggly butt, a light up smile and a big ol’ loving heart that’s what she is- 100%! Mary has proven herself to be incredibly dog-social, playful, and adaptable. She meets new dogs with a happy submissive approach, think - tail wagging and friendly curiosity. She reads dogs well and will roll over on her back to show a dog that she is not a threat, which helps show her relaxed and ready to play vibe. As much as she enjoys playing with other dogs she is also happy doing her own thing whether that is wandering around the yard or playing with a toy. Seeing her connections with dogs she has met and the dogs in her foster home we can say her ideal dog-match would be a medium-energy male who can match her in play but respect her space when she needs it. Thanks to Mary’s dedicated foster we know that she is crate-trained, she currently sleeps in her crate at night and while her foster is away from the house. She is quiet ,both in and out of her crate, and will happily go to her crate when asked. Her foster mom shared that Mary has grown to expect her meals in her crate which is encouraged to fosters with multiple dogs including multiple fosters. We expect that she will carry that routine into her forever home. She is also house-trained and has not had an accident in the house. Once she arrives home she will need a tour of her potty places but comes with a solid base to work from. On top of that, she is great on leash and responsive to gentle correction. We were impressed watching her leash skills with a new handler, she walks at an easy pace, checks in often, and stays by your side. Mary does not live with kids in her foster home but has met kids during outings and when guests have come over and she has done well with them. She is joyful and enthusiastic when meeting new people and is still learning how to control that wiggly booty, so older kids who won’t easily be knocked over by her joy would be best. While she loves a good wrestling session, game of fetch, of a blast of zoomies Mary isn’t non-stop energy. She gets the wiggles out, then chills out. Because of that, she could thrive in either a house with a yard or an apartment, as long as she gets regular walks and chances to be social. Mary Puppins is a solid, easy-to-love, easy-to-live-with kind of dog. Great with people, respectful with other dogs, and full of personality—she’s the kind of pup who just needs a soft place to land and a human (or two) to share her big-hearted joy with. Rowie Bowie is his name and delivering love and laughs is his game. If you are looking for a dog that feels like he has always been yours, you have found him! He has an old-mans soul and is just easy to have around. Does he look a little like a Rottweiler? Yes! Is he as big as one? No way, this boy weighs 45 lbs. Off nothing but a visual, I’m going to say I think he is a shepherd/rottie mix, maybe 5-6 years old. That age is my favorite! Most dogs are more couch-potato than weekend warrior and Rowie is no exception. He is happy to just be. Napping on the couch, a little after dinner stroll or hanging with the kids, Rowie is up for it—as long as it’s low-key. He’s currently living in an apartment and doing great. He’s well-mannered indoors, is both house and crate trained, doesn’t bark and is relaxed when his foster is away during her work day. When it's time for potty breaks he is a gentleman, he waits to be leashed up and is just a breeze on leash, no pulling or rushing here. 
We introduced Rowie to a variety of dogs and he calm meeting new friends but is otherwise mostly aloof. He coexists without fuss and doesn’t seek out much interaction with other dogs. He could easily be a happy solo dog or the +1 to an equally chill dog. He shared toys without issue, even with several on the floor, and consistently kept a relaxed vibe. We are saying a feline-free home is best for Rowie. He was a bit too interested for us and it's easy to see he might chase a cat in the home. 
Rowie loves people and is incredibly friendly, including with kids! He was gentle and sweet meeting a 4 year old and minded his commands beautifully. What I loved most about his time with Kobe the 4 y/o was that Kobe was enjoying a slice of cheese pizza, walking around with it just in his hands and even though Rowie was right there, nose repeatedly so close, he didn’t once try to sneak a bite or even a sniff of his pizza. When he finally did share a bite with Rowie, he was so gentle taking it from his hand. That is impressive! This boy loves affection but is not overly clingy and definitely appreciates being part of the family. You’ll usually find him posted up on the couch, just watching the world go by, waiting for his next short stroll or belly rub. He is The ultimate "hang out and chill" companion. I saved Queen from euthanasia and she is looking for her forever home. She just turned 6 but has hip dysplasia and she needs a mellow one story home where she can relax and enjoy the remainder of her retirement years. She is a social butterfly and loves all people. She still has a successful prey drive so no small animals including small dogs. Bigger dogs are no problem. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch, lay around outside, go for leisurely walks, get pets from strangers, and most of all eat whatever you are eating. 💕 6 years old, spayed, 90ish lbs 💕 Loves all people and children older than 5 💕 No small animals including small dogs 💕 Has bad hips, can do some stairs but best if she is in a home with no stairs. 💕 Still must go on walks, 2-3 blocks 2 times a day is best 💕 Located in Portland but willing to travel for the right home Videos available. Coffee is a beautiful rottweiler who was at risk of getting shot after being dumped on a rural property. She was heartworm positive but has been treated for it. She has stubby tail. She has been good with male and female dogs medium to large but has not been around small dogs or cats. She is very very friendly with people. She walks well on the leash. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Meet Thalia Breed: Rottweiler / Terrier mix Sex: Female Birthday: 7/25/2022 Weight: 45 pounds Health: Healthy and spayed Personality Thalia is a sweet, affectionate, and friendly girl who’s always happy to be near her people. She’s calm indoors, playful outside, and truly enjoys being part of a loving routine. Her expressive eyes and gentle nature win hearts everywhere she goes. Born 4/2021. Vader was adopted at 9 wks, lived in apartment as a single pet with a baby to 6/25. Owners could not have dogs anymore. I took Vader in and he has done great w/ my 3 rotties. He is NOT aggressive but big and strong. He is a sweetheart, loves to cuddle, & non-stop fetcher. A great pet for someone who knows large dogs. His back knees have issues. Surgery is not necessary but possible. He does very well without it. He limps if he walks/hikes/plays too far or long without rest He runs, plays, and fetches like any other dog on our 1/3 acre. He loves to play but his main interest is fetching and tug is new with my dogs. He is happy. Does great around babies & kids. He shows no interest in the squirrels. Recently exposed to cats. Cats were afraid and hissed so he barked but showed no interest in them. He has a deep, loud bark when he plays or when people come to the door. Bedding, toys, records included. Looking for a yard, kids a plus, meet and greet required.

Okay, do you know that person who will enthusiastically say “YES!” to playing a game even though they have never played and do not know the rules? If Darby was a person, that would be her. She is sweet, spunky, and always ready for whatever and you know she is going to make it fun! The thing is, that doesn’t mean she is the one throwing the party- she will leave that to the confident queens, she just wants to be invited…basically, Darby is a loving, playful girl with a confident, but slightly shy side. Once she’s comfortable, her fun side comes out in full force. She loves a tennis ball! So far fetch isn’t really her thing, but carrying one around? Absolutely! Darby is estimated to be about 2 years old, she weighs 85 lbs, and given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee age or breed. Which leads to the topic of breed. Hmm…so how do I say this…we have no idea. Honestly she had us all scratching our heads so here are a few of the breeds our team sees in her either by looks or mannerisms. Mastiff, Rhodesian Ridgeback, black mouth cur, boerboel, black and tan coonhound…so let’s go with that. But if you get her DNA done please share the results with us! Darby is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving family home complete with a set of parents, two young kids, two other dogs, and three cats. With kids age 1 and 5 his foster mom shared that he is awesome with the kids. Her foster shared that Darby licks the 1 year olds hands and wants to play and their 5 year old loves her. She did acknowledge that Darby is a big girl and has knocked over the 5 year old on accident and it is easy to see that Darby is still learning the size of her body in relation to other things. Because Darby loves the kids but truly just wants to play with them, we thing she would be happiest in a home with older children (10+) who want a dog they can play with. Her foster also shared that she has been around a other kids ages 5-10 and her behavior has been consistent across all of them, friendly and happy to be around them, and happiest if they want to play with her. In some ways she is just a big puppy and this really sounds like one of those ways. An ideal home for Darby would be one with a yard given her size and love of play. Which leads to Darby with dogs! This girl is definitely dog-friendly and is a regular at the local dog park where she always makes at least one new friend to play with. Having a playful dog in the home is going to be key to her happiness. When we introduced her to new dogs it was easy to see she is friendly and eager to make a connection, almost immediately inviting them to play. Not every dog she met was as eager to play, which is natural, but when she finally met a dog that took her up on the invite, it was amazing! She has a distinct play style and if you have a dog that can match her energy, you are likely very familiar with it. Simply, she plays hard, best described as rough and rowdy. The best pairing of another dog would be one that is similar size and energy level. A chill senior or a much smaller dog probably isn't the right match for her, but a fun-loving male dog, in a structured home? Perfect! Also, thanks to the fact that Darby is fostered, we can say with confidence that she is both house and crate trained. Darby lives with three cats currently and was introduced to our house cat. She is cat-tolerant, meeting polite caution but her playful side did show just enough that if she was in the home with a cat, a dog-savvy, confident cat would be the best fit. In other words, she needs a cat who won’t hesitate to give her a swat when needed — a timid kitty could easily be intimidated by her size. Darby’s a sweet, energetic girl who just wants someone to have fun with — and snuggle up with once the zoomies wear off. Sweet, silly sidekick reporting for duty, its Mary Puppins! This girl is a happy-go-lucky, people-loving girl with just the right balance of playful energy and laid-back charm. Estimated to possibly be right around three years old, she weighs right around 50 lbs, and we can’t decide on what we see in her breed wise. Someone said little rottie, another said big beagle, we see black mouth cur… this is where we just acknowledge that rescue is our favorite breed and a Texas special is top-tier catch. If you know of a breed that is characterized by a wiggly butt, a light up smile and a big ol’ loving heart that’s what she is- 100%! Mary has proven herself to be incredibly dog-social, playful, and adaptable. She meets new dogs with a happy submissive approach, think - tail wagging and friendly curiosity. She reads dogs well and will roll over on her back to show a dog that she is not a threat, which helps show her relaxed and ready to play vibe. As much as she enjoys playing with other dogs she is also happy doing her own thing whether that is wandering around the yard or playing with a toy. Seeing her connections with dogs she has met and the dogs in her foster home we can say her ideal dog-match would be a medium-energy male who can match her in play but respect her space when she needs it. Thanks to Mary’s dedicated foster we know that she is crate-trained, she currently sleeps in her crate at night and while her foster is away from the house. She is quiet ,both in and out of her crate, and will happily go to her crate when asked. Her foster mom shared that Mary has grown to expect her meals in her crate which is encouraged to fosters with multiple dogs including multiple fosters. We expect that she will carry that routine into her forever home. She is also house-trained and has not had an accident in the house. Once she arrives home she will need a tour of her potty places but comes with a solid base to work from. On top of that, she is great on leash and responsive to gentle correction. We were impressed watching her leash skills with a new handler, she walks at an easy pace, checks in often, and stays by your side. Mary does not live with kids in her foster home but has met kids during outings and when guests have come over and she has done well with them. She is joyful and enthusiastic when meeting new people and is still learning how to control that wiggly booty, so older kids who won’t easily be knocked over by her joy would be best. While she loves a good wrestling session, game of fetch, of a blast of zoomies Mary isn’t non-stop energy. She gets the wiggles out, then chills out. Because of that, she could thrive in either a house with a yard or an apartment, as long as she gets regular walks and chances to be social. Mary Puppins is a solid, easy-to-love, easy-to-live-with kind of dog. Great with people, respectful with other dogs, and full of personality—she’s the kind of pup who just needs a soft place to land and a human (or two) to share her big-hearted joy with. Rowie Bowie is his name and delivering love and laughs is his game. If you are looking for a dog that feels like he has always been yours, you have found him! He has an old-mans soul and is just easy to have around. Does he look a little like a Rottweiler? Yes! Is he as big as one? No way, this boy weighs 45 lbs. Off nothing but a visual, I’m going to say I think he is a shepherd/rottie mix, maybe 5-6 years old. That age is my favorite! Most dogs are more couch-potato than weekend warrior and Rowie is no exception. He is happy to just be. Napping on the couch, a little after dinner stroll or hanging with the kids, Rowie is up for it—as long as it’s low-key. He’s currently living in an apartment and doing great. He’s well-mannered indoors, is both house and crate trained, doesn’t bark and is relaxed when his foster is away during her work day. When it's time for potty breaks he is a gentleman, he waits to be leashed up and is just a breeze on leash, no pulling or rushing here. 
We introduced Rowie to a variety of dogs and he calm meeting new friends but is otherwise mostly aloof. He coexists without fuss and doesn’t seek out much interaction with other dogs. He could easily be a happy solo dog or the +1 to an equally chill dog. He shared toys without issue, even with several on the floor, and consistently kept a relaxed vibe. We are saying a feline-free home is best for Rowie. He was a bit too interested for us and it's easy to see he might chase a cat in the home. 
Rowie loves people and is incredibly friendly, including with kids! He was gentle and sweet meeting a 4 year old and minded his commands beautifully. What I loved most about his time with Kobe the 4 y/o was that Kobe was enjoying a slice of cheese pizza, walking around with it just in his hands and even though Rowie was right there, nose repeatedly so close, he didn’t once try to sneak a bite or even a sniff of his pizza. When he finally did share a bite with Rowie, he was so gentle taking it from his hand. That is impressive! This boy loves affection but is not overly clingy and definitely appreciates being part of the family. You’ll usually find him posted up on the couch, just watching the world go by, waiting for his next short stroll or belly rub. He is The ultimate "hang out and chill" companion. I saved Queen from euthanasia and she is looking for her forever home. She just turned 6 but has hip dysplasia and she needs a mellow one story home where she can relax and enjoy the remainder of her retirement years. She is a social butterfly and loves all people. She still has a successful prey drive so no small animals including small dogs. Bigger dogs are no problem. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch, lay around outside, go for leisurely walks, get pets from strangers, and most of all eat whatever you are eating. 💕 6 years old, spayed, 90ish lbs 💕 Loves all people and children older than 5 💕 No small animals including small dogs 💕 Has bad hips, can do some stairs but best if she is in a home with no stairs. 💕 Still must go on walks, 2-3 blocks 2 times a day is best 💕 Located in Portland but willing to travel for the right home Videos available. Coffee is a beautiful rottweiler who was at risk of getting shot after being dumped on a rural property. She was heartworm positive but has been treated for it. She has stubby tail. She has been good with male and female dogs medium to large but has not been around small dogs or cats. She is very very friendly with people. She walks well on the leash. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. 7.5 months old, adopted her at 3 months. Found abandoned in a park, brought to a neighbor, who put her up on NextDoor and five hours later she came home with me! She is the sweetest, silliest, FUNNIEST girl -- probably 5 of 7 days a week, I end up with either my face or abs sore from laughing. She needs new people because she has turned out to be a high-energy girl. Based on her appearance and vibe, neighbor lady and I were thinking pitty/labby. I've had both and known several others well, but it soon became clear that we were working with something else. Cue the DNA test: 42% boxer, 38% pit, 13% Staffy, 7% supermutt. I am now having a significant and debilitating health issue, single/live alone, and am just not able to give her as much exercise and interaction as she needs. We have given it our all, she's just not happy, and it breaks my heart. She needs 2+ people -- solo person having sick/off days really affects her. She will absolutely THRIVE with more people/activity.

To save the world through joy, laughter, and zoomies. He's already doing an excellent job spreading hope and giggles, delighting his foster folks and everyone he meets. He might be a mix of boxer, labrador, and pittie, and something smaller... but we're just guessing! Based on his size and age, we also guess he probably will grow to be under 40 lbs, the most wonderful size! One thing we do know for sure is that he is the sweetest and most affectionate little snuggle buddy you could wish for. Captain is absolutely crazy about people. Everyone is his best friend and deserves his delicate little kisses and snuffles. His wagging tail and wiggling butt are almost as adorable as his wonky smile and his big, floppy ears. End to end, this boy is all about the cute! Photos don't quite do Captain justice; you have to see this hero in action to appreciate just how goofy and adoring he is. When he's excited, he darts around like a ping pong ball, changing direction and flying recklessly through the grass. He picks up toys in those silly jaws of his and shakes them with such ferocity that he sometimes falls over! And when he's finished with his short bursts of energy, he is the most tender-hearted little cuddler. He wants to be near you, preferably leaning against you, giving and receiving love. Captain's love is not limited to humans. He's thrilled to play with, or just hang out with, other dogs. He's brave enough to play with his 45- and 60-lb foster brothers. Captain loves to be chased. If other dogs ignore him, he finds toys to show off and tries to tempt his canine companions into a game of tug or keep-away. This clown also likes to play like a kitten! A toy dangling at the end of a stick or a string is a fabulous plaything for him! He chases it in circles with determination and zeal. And, of course, Captain also loves squeaky toys and crinkle toys — any toy will do, and a bone to chew keeps him busy and happy. Captain spends most of his time sleeping, of course, like most young puppies do. He loves to sleep flopped on his person or snuggled against them. He also loves his fuzzy donut bed. At night, Captain sleeps 8 hours straight in his crate in a room with his foster family. Some nights he complains for about one minute that he doesn't want to go to sleep yet… and then zzzzzzzzzz, he conks out. Captain is proud to tell you that he's potty trained now. He LOVES praise, so he quickly learned to potty on command. He understands that outside is the right place for his business, and with frequent outings during the day he's a reliable house pal. Eager to please, he stops a behavior when he understands you don't like it. He's also very food motivated — he loves meal time so much that he spins in circles from the excitement! This food motivation has made him easy to train so far. Though he's just getting started in his new Pacific Northwest foster home, he already knows to run into his kennel at feeding time (with the "kennel up" command) after a few celebratory pirouettes. He's looking forward to learning tricks for treats! Captain Underbite's greatest superpower is loving! He really wants to be someone's baby. He just wants to be wherever you are, making you laugh and hearing that he's a good boy! He likes to visit friends' houses and is thrilled to have people and dogs over to visit as well. She is loyal, gentle, wise beyond her years, and she's the kind of dog who seems to know what you need before you do. She's the nanny dog of every family's dream too and loves being a family dog. She watches over the little ones, soothes them with a soft nudge or kiss, and places herself beautifully right between chaos and calm. She's the perfect medium size, not too big and not too small. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We can promise you that Mya is the sweetest little angel. Mya currently shares her home with a family that has small children, and she ADORES them! The tiny humans she is currently fostered with are ages 6, 3, and 3 months. She is so incredibly gentle and loves being on the receiving end of their kisses, hugs, and giggles galore! She even lets them dress her in cute little outfits! Mya also extends her love and gentleness even towards other children as well. When other kids come over or when she sees other kids out on their walks she is just as loving with them as she is to the ones she is fostered with. She is probably the closest definition to an actual nanny dog. How she is with kids, really is the sweetest thing ever. Mya is even great to take on family walks throughout the neighborhood or local park. She is so easy to walk on a leash and rarely ever pulls. She is so easy that even the 6 year old is able to walk her. Mya also has no issues walking side by side to a stroller as well nor does she ever get in the way of the stroller. Mya also peacefully shares her home with cats and another pup, but she would much prefer to be the princess of her castle and soak up all the love for herself. Nothing short of what she absolutely deserves! That being said, the right family with the right dog and/or cat, could be a possibility. She is the perfect companion for a family that has slowed down a bit, or who prefer the quiet life of couch snuggling and binge watching marathons. Cherie rides well in the car, and is fully house and crate trained! Though she may protest just a little because her favorite thing is to be out with her people! Mya's dream home would have a backyard out in the suburbs away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Not that she minds the loud noises or the crowds of city life, she just a relaxed and calm lady we think would prefer living in a residential neighborhood and would probably love her own yard to sunbathe in on those warm spring and summer days. She also gets excited and does these adorable little jumps to go outside too which is another reason why we prefer to see her go to a home with a yard. Ultimately, wherever she ends up calling "home", Mya is poised to spend her Golden Years giving all of the love and quiet companionship that Senior dogs are especially known for.
