Meet Bear!! Fostering in San Fernando Valley, CA | Age: he is not telling. Our vet estimated at 2 years and he plays and runs like he is young, but we have some conflicting old records that say he may be much older. So we have listed him at 5 and have no idea if that is correct. Expect a fun, cuddly, and active guy! Bear is about to become someone's really good dog — and we mean that. This gentle, sweet, and sensitive boy has been an absolute joy in foster care. Handles with ease: Bear took his first bath like a champ, standing proudly through the whole thing (even face wipes!). He's totally comfortable being touched all over — no flinching, no sore spots, just a good boy letting you help him. A natural on leash: On his very first walk, Bear trotted along the halter like he'd done it his whole life — no fuss, no hesitation. He's even got a proud little trit-trot happening already. Loves to play: Give him a ball and he's set — he'll kick it around solo or play together with you. He's also a fan of a good chew stick to gnaw on. Loves his people: Bear has already bonded closely with one of his foster dads. He thrives on companionship and isn't a fan of being left alone (though he settles down after a bit — he's still decompressing and adjusting). Sleeps like a champ: Once he's out, he's out — deep, contented sleep. Still learning about Bear: He's a bit wary of squeaky/crinkle toys (the noise) but that may just take time Eats well, including veggies and pumpkin Mostly quiet, though he's been vocal during fireworks and is learning (with his foster's help) that barking isn't the way to get attention No digging, no excessive whining — just some 'come find me' calling Bear is new to this stage of settling in, but everything about him — his gentleness, his easy trust, his eagerness to bond — points to a dog who's going to make someone's home a lot happier. Rolls is an amazing 35 pound cuddle bug! She can be around other dogs, but would be best as an only dog as she can be an alpha. She is great with cats and kids!! Rolls is spayed, up to date on vaccines, is microchipped and is ready to go. She likes toys, isnt a huge fan of crates, and does have some separation anxiety (barking and scrarching) so would love to go along on activities or have someone who is home quite a bit. She walks well on a leash and greets strangers nicely. Mostly, she wants to cuddle. Her foster mom says she hasn't heard barking yet (probably because she is showered with love and attention). She loves to walk around with a stuffed toys when she get excited. If you are looking to spend time with and spoil this princess (named after Rolls Royce brand), she is waiting for you! Daisy is an amazing female shar-pei, who grew up with a family that socialized her with other dogs, kids and even cats. She is used to hanging out with the family. Sadly, the family lost their housing and Daisy is looking for a family that she can have more fun with. Daisy is described as playful, energetic, friendly and affectionate, but she can also be quiet, shy and nervous. She was used to sleeping on the bed, but would adjust to a dog bed if needed. She has been to the dog park, does pull on the leash (her last vet appointment clocked her at 46 pounds so you will get a workout), and knows how to use a dog door. She can be reactive with other dogs when walking on leash, so an owner that has experience with distraction and/or will work on training is a plus. She isn't a fan of mailmen and would prefer to walk over car rides. She doesn't a jump over the gate/fence, doesn't counter surf for human food, isn't a digger and only barks at people at front door...practically perfect! Simon is an amazing 1-2 year old male shar-pei, who has a super soft fluffy coat and is just happy to be alive and with you! Simon landed in a southern California shelter, for unknown reasons and did well with kennel mates and in play groups. He did have one winky eye, chocked up to entropion, so when neutered the vet also did entropion his right eye. Simon is a loving fun dude, but can be a counter surfer if food left on edge of counter (I mean, can you blame a guy with some initiative??) Simon is about 50 pounds, loves pets and attention and running around with his foster sister dog. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
