This senior man is a true introvert and has us all a little perplexed. He has no desire to bond with people but is tolerant when forced to spend time with them. Will Koko give you cuddles? No. Will he want to spend time with you and your family on the couch? No. Does he even want to come inside the house? Not really. Would he enjoy being fed regularly? Yes. Would he like a comfy dog house in a nice yard or on some land he can roam? Absolutely! It’s not often that we recommend a dog be adopted as an outside dog but we do think he’d be happiest if that was the arrangement. He's a real lone wolf. He is very good on a leash though and we think he would enjoy daily walks - which might be a good way to develop a bond with him. Bonus points if the walks are in the snow - he LOVES snow! While Koko is not looking for anyone, he has to have someone to at least be kind to him and provide him the basics. So, we are looking for a home for Koko that understands his desire to do his own thing and maybe offer a head pat or two when Koko wants it. And, who knows, maybe as time goes on Koko will learn how nice it is to be a part of a family that wants to include him in their lives. Camilla is a gorgeous cream shar-pei mix and this girl landed in the shelter after being abandoned in an RV with other dogs. Cami has lived with other dogs, but we've found she would do best as an only dog or a with neutral or submissive male dogs. She is very good with people, and apparently has seen the world (or maybe US) by car/travel. Camilla is about 4 years old, is spayed and had entropion eyelid surgery and has all her vaccines and a microchip. She is about 45 pounds. Gordon found himself in a California shelter, and he was such a good boy that Pei People couldn't wait to rescue him! Gordon is about 36 pounds (very small), is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. Shelter aged him at 6 years old, but foster thinks more like 4 years old. (so far, he's not telling us!) Gordon is even good in a crate (he sleeps there at night). He took a week or two to learn the dog door and potty training, but now is a pro and no accidents in the house. He would love a yard...really enjoys being outside. He also likes toys and balls. Sade is a high energy German Shepherd, Boxer mix. She gets along with other dogs but needs to be supervised at first because she can be a bit annoying to other dogs with her play style. She gets along with cats, horses, donkeys, and smaller animals like chickens with supervision. She has not been to the vet in a year. She has some issues gaining weight which may be caused by eating a battery before we adopted her. We are rehoming her because we are not giving her the time she needs and deserves.
