With his goofy personality and joyful spirit, Fred brings smiles wherever he goes. He absolutely loves toys and bones, and you'll often find him proudly carrying his latest treasure around the yard. Speaking of yards, one of Fred's favorite things is zooming around outside, soaking up the sunshine and having fun, however a yard is not required for him, he would do well in an apartment or condo with regular walks. This boy would make a wonderful hiking, walking, or patio beer parter. He's eager to explore the world by your side, although he'll need a little help polishing up his leash manners, they are not bad but always room for some improvement. Fred is a smart pup who already knows sit and shake, and he's currently working hard on improving his kennel skills. Most of all, Fred is a sweet, enthusiastic dog with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life. While her journey before coming to us was clearly not an easy one, she has never let her past define her. This lovely girl gets along great with other dogs and is just beginning to discover the joy of playtime. She is house-trained, settles into her kennel with very little fuss, and enjoys the comfort and security of being part of a family. We like to think of Maribel as a "fixer-upper with great bones" - the kind that has all the potential in the world and just needs a little TLC to truly shine. Every day, she shows us more of her sweet personality, resilience, and gentle heart. Maribel is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease, and she's handling it like a champion. Once her treatment is complete, we can focus on addressing the rest of her medical needs which includes entropion surgery and a fatty mass removal, both will help her feel her absolute best. At just 1 year old, this beautiful Shar-Pei has already experienced more ups and downs than most dogs do in a lifetime. Penelope was adopted from a shelter when she was only 8 months old. Through no fault of her own, she was returned. Then she was adopted again... and returned once more. While many dogs might have given up, Penelope never stopped believing that her perfect family was still out there somewhere. When Penelope arrived at Pei People, we quickly discovered that one of the biggest challenges she had faced was a painful condition called entropion, where her eyelids rolled inward and irritated her eyes. It's easy to imagine how uncomfortable she must have been. She is getting the care she needs now and for the first first time in her young life, Penelope can focus on what really matters: being a happy, playful dog. And what a wonderful dog she is! Penelope loves other dogs, both large and small, and is always ready for a game of chase or a romp around the yard. She has been around children and enjoys being part of the action. Her playful personality shines brighter every day now that she's feeling her best. Like many young dogs, Penelope has a few quirks. She would prefer a home without cats, as they are simply a little too exciting for her to resist chasing. Given the choice, she'd much rather spend her time playing with canine friends or soaking up attention from her humans. Despite everything she's been through, Penelope remains loving, hopeful, and eager to trust. She doesn't dwell on the past. Instead, she greets each new day with optimism, as if she's still convinced that her happily-ever-after is right around the corner. Now all that's missing is the final chapter.
