Story
Summer is a delightful medium-sized mix who is eagerly searching for her forever home! This gentle girl has a calm and loving disposition that makes her the perfect companion for a serene household. She can be a bit shy at first, so any kids in the home should be old enough to go slow with her in the beginning. Once she warms up, which doesn`t take long, she is a total sweethear! She is incredibly gentle and affectionate, always ready for a cuddle or a quiet moment by your side. Her calm demeanor makes her an excellent companion for anyone seeking a peaceful and loving dog! What I Need In a Home:* Older children recommended

Story
Hello, I'm Cecil. I was found dumped on the side of a ditch with nothing but my friend and a blanket. Thankfully a nice person helped get me and my friend to the shelter and offered to foster us. I'm a sweet boy and look to be around 4 years old. My history is a mystery but I'm friendly and loving. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2288733##

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!  Meet Burrow the Shar Pei!  Hello there! My name is Burrow, and I'm a one-year-old Shar Pei with a heart full of love and a knack for Feng Shui! I've been on quite an adventure so far, and now I'm looking for a forever home where I can share all my puppy love. I'm your typical Shar Pei puppy—lazy yet playful. I enjoy running around and having fun with my foster siblings, but I also know the importance of taking relaxing naps in the warm sun. Speaking of Feng Shui, I've got a little talent for it—I like to rearrange shoes to bring love and luck into your home (although I promise, I haven't chewed any!). While I'm still young and learning, I haven't had much formal training yet. I'm currently working on my leash manners and learning basic commands like "sit" (especially when blueberries are involved—I can't resist!). Every day, I'm improving and learning a lot at my foster home. I'm a social butterfly who adores people, and I'm great with potty training and other dogs. I dream of finding a family who will cuddle with me and shower me with kisses—I have plenty of those to give in return! I'm up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Interested in meeting me, apply today! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2101762##

Story
Cool Coloradoian GI'ANA needs an URGENT Foster or adopter😍 I mean...how could you not!!!!🥰😋 GI'ANA: 5 year old female- approx. 55lbs of Bully Breed LOVE!! She is high energy, loves people, gives kisses and is very cuddly. She loves the outdoors/going on walks. Very affectionate and a great snuggle partner. She enjoys playing with her toys and being with her human. She likes to be involved. A huge goofball with a big delightful personality!! GI'ANA is treat, kennel and potty trained. Good with older kids. No cats and not really fond of other dogs. Unfortunately, she has never really been socialized with any other dogs or very young kids. She does do some resource guarding. She's ok to free roam around the house. She is a sweetheart❤️ and very loving! GI'ANA would do best in a no pet and older kids in the household. Someone that has patience and that is willing to work with her being socialized. She might need some time to adjust to a new home, but she is fully capable. Build a bond with her and she will love you forever unconditionally. She is very loyal and protective. She’s a strong lover for someone who will love her back. GI'ANA's background story: An eviction notice for keeping her in the house that she lives in currently resides in😔 Adoption application:⏬ https://form.jotform.com/202544773175054 Foster application:⏬ https://form.jotform.com/202537766045054
